Sneaks Up 5, the preeminent sneaker event in the state of Texas, took place yesterday in San Antonio. Sneaks Up showcases the finest sneaker collections in the country plus the best street culture vendors in Texas. Loyal K.N.G. was there and even teamed up with the Sneaks Up crew to produce an exclusive “Throw Your Sneaks Up” t-shirt featuring some very recognizable characters (Iron Man, Spider-Man and Wolverine). Is this a design right up The Blot’s alley or what? Superheroes and sneakers, what a great collaboration!

The Sneaks Up 5 x Loyal K.N.G. “Throw Your Sneaks Up” t-shirt was released exclusively at Sneaks Up 5 on Sunday, April 17th, in San Antonio for $30. This tee had a limited edition run size of just 50 shirts, and may already be sold out! But any remaining stock will go on sale sometime soon at the Loyal K.N.G. online store. So keep your eyes peeled and grab one if you can!

Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe Television Movie Poster

As you probably know, USA’s Burn Notice is one of The Blot’s favorite television shows and Bruce Campbell is one of my favorite actors. So you know I’m super excited for this Sunday’s world premiere of the new made for TV movie Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe starring the B-movie legend. Fans of the show have been talking about this 2hr movie for months, really ever since it was first announced it at SDCC last summer. Directed by Burn Notice’s own Jeffrey Donovan, the movie explores how Sam (Campbell) came to be an ex-Navy SEAL and living in Miami, which is where we meet the character in the first episode of Burn Notice.  I've read some mixed reviews of the movie so far, but really as long as it's got Bruce fighting bad guys, what more could you need?

The original movie Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe airs this Sunday, April 17th, at 9/8c on USA.

Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe Official Synopses: Before Sam Axe teamed up with Michael and Fiona, he was Commander Axe, U.S. Navy SEAL. The Fall of Sam Axe tells the story of how Sam went from respected Naval Commander to the man of mystery we've come to know on Burn Notice. On what will turn out to be Sam's last military mission, he is sent to the jungles of Colombia to investigate claims of a vicious terrorist organization known only as the "Espada Ardiente" (Flaming Sword). His mission: to determine whether U.S. military aid is necessary to deal with the threat. But when he arrives, things are more complicated than he'd imagined. He receives word that the rebels have targeted a small civilian clinic deep in the jungle. Sam must now save the clinic's doctors and patients from certain death. However, nothing is as it seems and the Espada Ardiente may not be the biggest threat Sam Axe faces.

The Vinyl Roots Art Show feat Troy Stith, Kevin Gosselin & J*RYU

The Blot just found out about a killer upcoming art show entitled “The Vinyl Roots Show,” featuring the works of Troy Stith, Kevin Gosslein and J*RYU. The show’s theme revolves around transformation, and if you’re at all familiar with these three artists’ work then you know there’s a really good possibility the show will blow all of our minds! The Vinyl Roots art show will take place at Dragatomi in Sacramento, CA on May 14th. Expect more info (and images) to come!

Tequila Classico Vinyl Figure by Muttpop

The Blot’s always down for a good surprise, and one came yesterday with the unannounced release of Muttpop’s newest Tequila colorway! News of a new Muttpop release spread through the internet like wildfire, and yet The Blot’s still been unable to find any real information about this Tequila Classico vinyl figure (like will these be finding their way to America? ).

UPADTE: The Blot heard from Muttpop Bob today, and he informed me that the Tequila Classico vinyl figure will be solicited in the next few weeks with the figure hitting stores shortly thereafter. It will have a limited edition run size of 500 figures and retail for $70 each.  So expect to see this hulking Lucha Libre figure in stores soon!

Formula Werks “El Dinero” Blind Box T-shirt by MAD

Yesterday, Formula Werks released a brand new t-shirt by MAD featuring his money hungry character, El Dinero! While The Blot’s been waiting for an El Dinero vinyl figure ever since MAD teased us with his Dinero Dunny design, here’s the next best thing…a blind box t-shirt. Yup, you read that right. Taking its cue from the designer toy industry, Formula Werks has produced these on a variety of shirt colors taken from its extra stock of blank tees and will be filling orders with random colors. Every shirt is literally a blind box surprise!

For this brand new entry into the blind box market, the Formula Werks x MAD “El Dinero” t-shirt will be sold with a very special pricing plan. The first shirt retails for $15, while each additional shirt retailing for $10 (with a maximum of 5 shirts pre order). I think this is a really cool idea, and I’m interested in seeing how popular it is with toy collectors and t-shirt aficionados.

Official Green Lantern Still Photos: Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan

Ok, so Warner Bros. finally released some official still photos of Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern Hal Jordan and all anyone can talk about is his feet!!! I am pretty sure this was the complete opposite reaction DC Comics was hoping for. After all the money they spent on the computer graphics for this Green Lantern film you’d think they would have ended up with a better result. I don’t hate it as much as I did at first glance, but these photos are not getting me excited to see this film.

I know they’ve been tweaking Green Lantern’s look for months, but couldn’t they have spent a little extra time design him some boots? If we’ve learned anything over these past few weeks between the Wonder Woman costume and now this, it’s that the boots really do matter! Let’s be honest, if I had a power ring that would allow me to design any costume I could imagine there isn’t a single design that doesn’t include shoes. That’s it, end of story…so get Hal out of those wanna be Vibram FiveFingers “shoes” and put some cool boots on him!

And don’t even get me started on the fact that the movie is just now hiring someone (Michael Clarke Duncan) to voice Kilowog…the film comes out in 9 freaking weeks! How in the world are things this far behind?

Green Lantern is scheduled to limp into theaters on June 17, 2011.

Skinner x Shikaruna x Lulubell Vinyl Figure Teaser Image #2

Yesterday, Lulubell Toy Bodega released on its Facebook page a second teaser image of its upcoming collaboration with Skinner and Shikaruna. The shadowy image looks like some sort of bat like creature with a daemon head, but your guess is definitely as good as The Blot’s. All I know is whatever has emerged from Skinner’s imagination is going to be nuts! And I can’t wait to see what kind of paint application Skinner has decide to use on his first foray into kaiju. As always, more details to come as they become available.

Samurai Hick-san Custom Vinyl Figure by Huck Gee

Samurai Hick-san, the Collector, the hunter, the horn taker, the ivory assassin. Renowned from coast to coast, legend states that Samurai Hick-san stains his armor in the blood of the vanquished and that he was once a powerful general that played a pivotal role in The Three Wars. Feared by many an enemy for riding into battle on a massive armored rhino mount, now he is just plain feared. HORN CORE to the very bone!

This Gold Life custom vinyl figure by Huck Gee stands 9" tall to the top of his horn and looks phenomenal! This might be The Blot’s new favorite custom figure in Huck's Gold Life series. I love all the little touches Huck added to Samurai Hick-san, including the eye patch, the backpack full of rhino horns and of course, the cute little bird on Hick-san’s hat.

Each signed and numbered figure comes and dressed in a black kimono and blood red armor, and includes all of the accessories seen above. Only 10 Samurai Hick-san figures were produced, and each one retails for $850. This set will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Frankenruge Homage Ollie Vinyl Figure by LASH

For LASH’s second Ollie release this month comes the Frankenruge Ollie, the first painted release since NYCC 2010! This Frankenruge homage comes with a silver chest chain and will retail for $150 each. Like with the Unpainted Yellow Ollie, the Frankenruge colorway will be sold via lottery only. The lottery begins this Saturday, April 16th, at 12:01am EDT and ends at 11:59pm EDT. All winners will be chosen and notified on Sunday, April 17th.
