Collectionzz has teamed up with superstar artist Kevin Tong for the next poster in their Iconic by Collectionzz screen print series commemorating another legendary moment in music history! August 25, 2020 marked the 50th anniversary of Elton John’s iconic first performance in the United States at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Elton was a relatively unknown singer-songwriter from England when he took to the stage, but by the end of his set he was declared the new star of rock and roll. For this release Kevin Tong created a new concert poster commemorating the 50th anniversary of that iconic performance.

As Collectionzz explained, “Kevin created this stunning 8 color screenprint that is as vibrant and electric (or as close as one can get!) as Elton’s performance was. The colors emanate from Elton’s piano and surround him, elevating him off the ground as he performed in front of a packed house of stunned members of the audience at the Troubadour.”

Elton John Troubadour 50th Anniversary Concert Poster by Kevin Tong is an 18”x24” hand numbered 8 color screen print. The Main Edition is limited to 150 pieces and retails for $75, while the Rainbow Foil Variant is limited to 100 pieces and retails for $150. Elton John “Los Angeles 1975” Screen Print by Matt Ryan Tobin x Collectionzz

Collectionzz has teamed up with acclaimed artist Matt Ryan Tobin for the next poster in their Iconic by Collectionzz screen print series commemorating another legendary moment in music history! Check out the brilliant Elton John “Los Angeles 1975” screen print by Matt Ryan Tobin! This is an official poster for Elton John’s historic concert at Dodgers Stadium in October 1975, which was recently featured in the movie Rocket Man. As Matt Ryan Tobin explained, “I wanted the poster to feel like it could’ve been used to promote the show in 1975.”

For this release, Matt researched vintage baseball card designs to create the poster’s unique look, fusing that influence with his subject’s distinct aesthetic. Tobin went on to say “There were bones there to work with that I took note of but at the end of the day the card design needed to be elevated with that Elton style and flare.” Keen observers may notice the reflection of a rocket ship in John’s glasses. The subtle addition was Tobin’s nod to the classic tune “Rocket Man”.

Elton John “Los Angeles 1975” by Matt Ryan Tobin is an 18”x24” hand numbered screen print. The Main Edition is a 4 color screen print with glaze on pearl metallic paper. It is limited to 300 pieces and will retail for $75. The Shining Sequins Foil Variant ($125) is a 3 color screen print limited to 250 pieces.
