It’s been a little over a year since the Halloween release of the Andrew Bell designed Kidrobot 15: Kidreaper, so what better time for Bell to finally release his Artist Proof signed and numbered Kidreaper vinyl figures than today (the day before Halloween)!
Each set includes a Kidreaper figure, a black cape, a bloody scythe and one bonus item. There are 4 white rare chase A/P’s and 10 regular black A/P’s (14 in all). Distributed between them are 6 hand-sewn (by Ma Bell!) red capes with collars, 5 hand-sewn red capes with hoods and 3 glow in the dark 6″x8″ prints (edition of 3). You won’t know exactly which combination of figure and bonus item you get until you open your package, but any combination sounds like a killer one to The Blot!
You can take your chances with the Reaper beginning Friday the 30th at the Dead Zebra online store at an unannounced time (or times!). Each figure set will sell for $96.66.

Batman: The Brave and The Bold “Mayhem of the Music Meister” Soundtrack
Last Friday’s musical episode of Batman: The Brave and The Bold featuring Neil Patrick Harris as the Music Meister was amazing. Of course I’m a bit biased since I’m such a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother’s NPH, but ask anyone else who watched “Mayhem of the Music Meister” and they’ll tell you the same thing. It was definitely the most memorable cartoon I’ve seen on television in years.
The songs were both clever and catchy, and the writers did a great job working the songs into the episode’s storyline. The writers certainly could have taken the easy way out and inserted the songs as musical interludes throughout the show. But instead they made the songs part of the action, allowing the episode to keep its natural rhythm. Best of all, the Cartoon Network made sure to have the episode’s soundtrack available for download immediately after the first airing of the “Mayhem of the Music Meister.”
If you enjoyed last week’s episode of Batman: The Brave and The Bold as much as I did, then you’ll want to head over to iTunes or Amazon.com immediately to download/purchase the “Mayhem of the Music Meister” episode soundtrack. The soundtrack retails for $6.99 on both websites, and includes all 7 songs from last week’s episode plus the show’s official theme song. It really is a great soundtrack, and is just another perfect example of Neil Patrick Harris’ versatility and range. This is a must get for any NPH or DC Comics fan.

Lost Screen Print #10 - The Swan Station by Rob Jones
It’s official, these Lost screen prints made in honor of the show’s final season are a hit! Last week’s Lost print, “The Swan Station” by Rob Jones, sold out in an hour and previously sold out Lost screen prints are selling for hundreds of dollars on eBay. Makes me kind of wish I had purchased a few of the earlier prints when I had a chance. Oh well! The black and red color scheme of “The Swan Station” print is very striking, and I liked the print even more once I found out Mr. Jones is from the live music capital of the world, Austin, TX.
“The Swan Station” is the tenth screen print released on Damon, Carlton and A Polar Bear in honor of Lost’s sixth and final season. Rob Jones’ limited edition Lost screen print “The Swan Station” measures 18”x24”, has a run size of 300 pieces, and comes hand signed and numbered by the artist. The print sells for $50 each and could have been purchased here before it sold out.
In celebration of LOST's final season and as a project of fan appreciation, 16 top designers and artists, who are also fans of the show, were commissioned to create artwork celebrating one of the series' most memorable, and unforgettable, "water cooler" moments. This ultimate "fan art" was then turned into labor intensive, hand-pulled screen prints, limited to an edition of just 300, with less than 200 available to the public through our websites. Each beautiful poster tells its own different story, allowing the fan to relive memorable and influential moments in an artistic manner, as the show's storied run comes to a close. Once this limited edition print has sold out, they will never be printed again. Celebrate the fandom, community and family created by one of televisions' greatest shows by hanging a little part of its history, inspiration and influence on your wall. (link)

Marc Ecko x Timex Star Wars Watches
Marc Ecko will be expanding upon his line of Star Wars themed clothing to produce a line of Star Wars themed watches in conjunction with Timex. Evidently these photos have been floating around the internet since the summer, but somehow The Blot just found out about them!
The Marc Ecko x Timex Star Wars watch collection will include a mixture of metals, rubbers and nylons, and feature Timex’ trademark "indiglo" illuminating technology. The Marc Ecko Star Wars watches will also play classic Star Wars songs and sound effects, and are rumored to feature some as of yet unannounced “technologies.”
So far we’ve only see the Marc Ecko Star Wars Boba Fett watch and the Marc Ecko Star Wars Stormtrooper watch, but Mr. Ecko alluded on his blog to the release of other Star Wars character inspired watches featuring R2-D2 and Darth Vader. Can’t wait to check all these out! We should know more soon as the Marc Ecko x Timex Star Wars watch collection is due in stores sometime during the 2009 holiday season.

The A-Team Motion Picture First Look Pt. 2
Sadly, here is the “official” first look at the cast of the upcoming big screen remake of the beloved 80’s television show The A-Team. Looking at the photo below really saddens The Blot, because I have absolutely no faith in this film. Hasn’t the movie industry learned by now to stop pillaging our childhood? How many television properties from the 70s, 80s and 90s have they ruined!?! While the photoshopping of the film’s official cast photograph is horrible, at least 20th Century Fox did a good job casting and dressing this new and (doubtfully) improved A-Team.
The A-Team stars Liam Neeson as “Hannibal” Smith, Bradley Cooper as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck, Sharlto Copley as Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson stars as Sgt. "B.A." Baracus. The A-Team, which is set to premiere on June 11, 2010, is directed by Joe Carnahan and produced by Ridley and Tony Scott.

Art Asylum Boston Presents "Art Strikes Back"
As you all know, The Blot is a huge Star Wars fan, so I really wish I could make it to Art Asylum Boston for its upcoming Star Wars themed art show entitled Inspirations From Above: "Art Strikes Back." "Art Strikes Back" is an extraordinary collection of art featuring the works of over 30 artists from around the world showcasing their talents and inspirations based on and around the Star Wars Universe.
Paying homage to Star Wars and the influence it has had over our culture and society in the last three decades, some of today's top artists have been brought together under one roof to bring you "Art Strikes Back." While the show will be taking place in Boston, Art Asylum Boston will have an interactive gallery set up on the gallery’s website for those of us unable to attend in person, so we may view this amazing art show and purchase available works.
Art Asylum Boston will be hosting an opening reception for “Art Strikes Back” on Friday, November 6th at 7:00 - 9:00pm, and the exhibition will run through December 6th. There will also be a limited edition silk screened sticker (designed by David Friedman of http://www.ironicsans.com/) available for attendees at opening night. These stickers will be extremely limited with an edition size of only 100, and each silk screened sticker will be individually numbered.

Nutter 5 Inch Vinyl Figure by Kronk
Kidrobot wants to see the world “nut up” with Nutter, the shell-shocked squirrel, from South African illustrator Kronk. This crazy squirrel started popping up in Kidrobot window displays around the US last week, and the buzz has been building ever since. Thankfully the rumor that Nutter would be a KR exclusive has proven not to be true!
Nutter comes armed with an acorn grenade (complete with removable pin) and is super limited! There will only be 500 of these black and white 5” vinyl figures made, and each figure will retail for $50. Nutter bombs his way into Kidrobot stores, kidrobot.com and select retailers worldwide on Black Friday (i.e. Friday, November 27th – the Friday after Thanksgiving).

Medicom x Capcom Mega Man 100% Kubrick & Be@rbrick Sets
The Blot hadn’t heard these were in development, but how cool do the new Medicom x Capcom Mega Man 100% Kubrick and Be@rbrick sets look!?! The Mega Man and Proto Man Kubricks are the real stars of these sets, but the 1 UP Be@rbricks are pretty cool too. The 8-bit Mega Man and Proto Man 1 UP logos are a really nice touch.
These Medicom x Capcom Mega Man 100% Kubrick & Be@rbrick sets are a must get for any Mega Man, Nintendo or video game fan! The Blot’s not much of a gamer any more, but every once in a while I’ll bust out my original NES to play 80’s classics like Mega Man, Metroid or Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out. Here’s hoping these sell well so that Medicom makes a 400% Mega Man Kubrick! How awesome would that be!?!
The two Medicom x Capcom Mega Man 100% Kubrick & Be@rbrick sets seen here will retail for around $30 per set, and should be released in early 2010.

The Blot Says… Turns 2!
Your eyes aren’t deceiving you! Just a little over two years ago this very day The Blot came up with the idea to start a blog where I could talk ramble on about all things pop culture, and The Blot Says… was born. TBS’ anniversary was actually last week, but The Blot was so busy I totally forgot! Oh well...I can’t remember everything!
I wanted to take this time to thank all the readers of The Blot Says… for your continued support over the past two years. The website’s readership has continued to grow each and every month, and I couldn’t have done it without you! In honor of The Blot Says…’ two year anniversary, please spread the word of my little blog and tell all your friends to stop by and join in on all the fun. Thanks again, and here’s to the next two years!

Threadless - "The Cheshire" Alice In Wonderland Themed T-Shirt
I saw “The Cheshire” t-shirt on Threadless last week and thought it was awesome for a number of reasons. First off, it features Alice In Wonderland's Cheshire cast, which is awesome in its own right. But I also thought it was cool because not only does it glow in the dark, but parts of the design are printed using UV ink that becomes visible only in direct sunlight. While that means certain elements of the design may not show up indoors, it gives the shirt some killer special effects!
“The Cheshire” is one of those shirts that’s perfect for everyone, guys, girls and little kids. I personally like the shirt’s GID look, because only the Cheshire Cat’s eyes and mouth are visible, but I’m sure little kids will love the purple and pink watercolor look of the mischievous trickster. You can purchase “The Cheshire” t-shirt at Threadless.com for $18 in guys, girls and kids sizes, and it’s also available as a hoodie or onesie.

Custom Wood Labbits by Amanda Visell Day 2
Amanda Visell’s 3rd and 4th (out of 10) custom Wood Labbits went on sale yesterday on her blog at DailyDujour. The Blot thought there was no way her hand painted custom Wood Labbits could get any better than the figures she debuted on Wednesday, but boy was I wrong. Today’s custom Wood Labbits are entitled Escape From The Wood Labbit and Moonglow Wood Labbit, and both look amazing!
While Wednesday’s Ice Wood Labbit is still my favorite AV custom Labbit so far, The Blot can’t get over all the crazy details and extra characters Amanda included in her Moonglow Wood Labbit. And I really wish I could see the Escape From The Wood Labbit in person, so I could see how she made that crazy looking crater on the side of the figure.
Again, the first person to email Amanda with the title of the custom they want will get the opportunity to purchase these figures via an invoice. Each custom Wood Labbit retails for $600 (plus tax and shipping).

PNE - "I'd Love To Turn You On" Beatles Print by Justin Hampton, Emek & Jermaine Rogers
This Friday, October 23rd, sees the release of Post Neo Explosionism’s second collaborative art print, “I'd Love To Turn You On...” featuring The Beatles. As you may remember, PNE is a collaborative effort founded by three of the big names of the rock and roll poster art scene: Justin Hampton, Emek and Jermaine Rogers. While these three amazing artists are most well known for their individual accomplishments, their PNE collaborations truly bring out the best in each artist’s unique style.
The “I’d Love To Turn You On…” art print is PNE's weird tribute to one of the greatest bands of modern times, The Beatles. Drawing a vibe from their combined childhood love of 1970's carnival art and pop exploitation, the artists of PNE have created the type of kitsch imagery that is a constant feature hiding in the underbelly of rock and roll culture.
The “I’d Love To Turn You On…” art print comes in two editions, a Regular Edition which is limited to 200 copies and retails for $80, and a Special Edition which is limited to just 100 copies and retails for $120. Each print measures 25” x 25” and comes signed and numbered by all 3 artists! The “I’d Love To Turn You On…” Regular Edition features brilliant psychedelic colors, including a seamless color fade, while the Special Edition print is printed with special metallic inks giving the poster a very unique look and feel. Both rock posters go on sale this Friday between 2 and 3pm CST at the PNE website.

Custom Wood Labbits by Amanda Visell
Yesterday, Amanda Visell announced on her blog at DailyDujour.com that she had taken 10 of her ultra rare SDCC exclusive Wood Labbits and turned them into some of the best customs The Blot has ever seen. The Wood Labbit was already a highly sought after figure due to its small run size (it’s limited to just 300 pieces) and the fact that it was the first Labbit ever designed by an artist not named Frank Kozik, so you know collectors will be going crazy over these handmade Labbits.
Visell will be putting 2 of her 10 custom Wood Labbits up for sale at a time on her blog at Daily DuJour, and the first person to send her an email stating they wish to buy one of that day's custom Wood Labbits will get an invoice set by Ms. Visell. The first two custom Wood Labbits are already up for sale and they look sick. Just look at these awesome pictures of Amanda's Ice Wood Labbit and Burning Wood Labbit.
The Blot’s been wanting a regular Wood Labbit vinyl figure ever since I missed out on one at San Diego Comic Con, so you know I’d kill for one of these amazing customs. Too bad it’s a tad out of my price range! Visell will be selling her custom Wood Labbits for $600 each (plus tax and shipping). Each figure will be sold on a first come first serve basis, so if you think you want one be sure to email Amanda the moment she posts pictures of that particular Labbit online.

Custom 20 Inch Modern Hero Dunny by MAD
The Blot’s been dying to get a look at this 20 inch hand painted custom Modern Hero Dunny by MAD ever since he first mentioned it on the Kidrobot forums a few months ago. If I’m not mistaken, for every $50 spent on his online store a customer was given one entry into a drawing for this awesome 20” version of MAD’s Series 4 Dunny.
Modern Hero is The Blot’s favorite MAD character, and whoever won this amazing custom vinyl figure is one lucky collector! I’m still holding out hope there’s a Modern Hero Mad’l in the works to add to the many other toy lines the character has shown up in.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle BATSU Vinyl Figures by NECA
It seems like everyone wants in on the designer vinyl craze! BATSU is the National Entertainment Collectibles Association’s (a.k.a. NECA) entry into the 5-8 inch, reasonably priced designer vinyl toy market. The Blot’s not a huge fan of the platform’s quirky shaped arms and legs, but I do love me some TMNT! This November everyone’s favorite pizza eating mutant turtles, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo, will be given the BATSU treatment.
BATSU is NECA’s new highly-stylized line of urban vinyl figurines. Each 5” Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle BATSU is poseable at the neck and shoulders and comes with the weapons unique to that specific character (bo staff, katana, nunchuku and sai). Even without the weapons, you can tell who's who just by looking at their expressions, which capture the Turtles' personalities perfectly, from Donatello's concentration to Michelangelo's goofy grin.
NECA's limited edition TMNT BATSU figures hit stores November, 2009 and will be available at the NECA Amazon storefront and other collectible stores worldwide. Each figure will retail for around $15, and you will be able to purchase a complete set of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle BATSU vinyl figures for somewhere around $50-60.

Argonaut Resins x Gold Coin Stick Up Resin Figure
The Blot’s favorite resin toy makers, Argonaut Resins, is teaming up with Gold Coin’s Ray “Three” Robinson III to release the world’s first moveable resin figure entitled Stick Up. Stick Up is 8 inches tall, features four bendable limbs and comes with a money bag accessory. I can’t wait to see what colorways Argonaut Resins comes up with for Stick Up, but I have a feeling the figure’s going to look awesome in any color/shade.
What I love most of all about Stick Up is the way Argonaut Resins has brought Three’s unique art style to life in a three dimensional figure. Not all designs are able to transfer from paper to resin/vinyl form successfully, but when they do it’s the perfect mash-up of art and toy. No word yet from Argonaut Resins on Stick Up’s price, release date or colorways, but we’ll hopefully know more soon!

The Blot loves MINDstyle’s 5 inch Experiment 626 Stitch vinyl figures, so I was really excited to find out yesterday they will be collaborating with Disney yet again on an all new wave of Stitch figures. Experiment 626 Stitch Artist Series 2 features some amazing artists, including Triclops Studio, Camilla d’Errico, Scribe, Mad Barbarians, Voltaire, and Devil Robots.
The Blot’s a huge hamburger nut, so you know I’m going to have to get the burger inspired Mad Barbarians Stitch. But the figure I’m really looking forward to is Scribe’s. Everything the Kansas City artist has released this year has been amazing, and his Stitch is no exception. And don’t even get me started on on d’Errico’s Stitch! I think it’s the most detailed paint job on any of the mass produced Stitches so far. With that being said, I have a feeling the Devil Robots Stitch or Scribe Stitch will be this series’ Angry Woebots (meaning impossible to get your hands on!).
Each Disney x MINDstyle Experiment 626 Stitch Artist Series 2 5" vinyl figure will have a limited run of just 500 pieces and will retail for around $25-30.

Threadless - "It Would Have Been Cooler As A Van" Pop Culture Themed T-Shirt
While I don’t usually blog during the day, when I went to check out Threadless’ Hallow-Tees $10 sale I knew I’d have to write about this shirt. To be honest, I totally skipped over the “It Would Have Been Cooler as a Van” t-shirt at first glance. Thankfully, I went back to take a second look and was totally floored by what I saw. Basically, “It Would Have Been Cooler as a Van” re-imagines some of pop culture’s most well known vehicles as vans! This has got to be one of the coolest Threadless tees ever!
Like most pop art, the design isn’t overly complex. It’s just a fun idea that anyone could have come up with but didn’t! I’ve gotta give some serious props to artist Brandon Ortwein for following through on this one. The shirt features 21 pop icons from television and movies; some are animated while others have been in comic books and on the silver screen. Can you identify them all!?!
I’ve been able to identify a good chunk of these, but even The Blot can’t get them all. The top two rows are pretty obvious; you’ve got Back to the Future’s time traveling DeLorean, The Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1, the Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee, Optimus Prime from Transformers, The Griswolds’ family station wagon from Vacation, and Speed Racer’s Mach 5. There are also shout-outs to Thomas the Tank Engine, The Blues Brothers, Grease, Maximum Overdrive and Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure included on this shirt. If you there are any you aren’t sure of, head here to see the shirt’s key.
The “It Would Have Been Cooler as a Van” t-shirt is currently on sale for $10 (regular price $18) on Threadless.com and comes in both guys and girls style tees.

Blood Red Rose Vampire by Josh Herbolsheimer
A vengeful Earth strikes again, and the Blood Red Rose Vampire is born! Sprouted from beneath the soil under a full moon, it comes to stalk the living! Beware it's coming, lest ye join its minions....
The Blot is still reeling that I missed out on getting a Green Hell Rose Vampire a few weeks ago, so thankfully Super7 is already releasing an all new colorway of one of my favorite vinyl figures. The Blood Red Rose Vampire by Josh Herbolsheimer will go on sale Saturday, October 24th at the Super7 online store and retail for $25 each.
