SDCC 2020 First Look: The Major Wrestling Figure Podcast Matt Cardona & Brian Myers Ultimates Deluxe Action Figures by Super7

Yesterday, former WWE Superstars Matt Cardona and Brian Myers announced on their podcast, The Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, that they had signed licensing deals with Super7 for a new line of Major WF Pod Ultimates Deluxe Action Figures! These 6” deluxe wrestling action figures will be in scale with Mattel’s WWE Elite toy line, Jazzware’s upcoming AEW figures, and Super7’s previously announced NJPW Ultimates line. Each wrestling action figure will include multiple alternate heads, interchangeable hands and character specific accessories. But what makes these wrestling figures really special is that each wrestler will come with a wrestling action figure accessory of themselves – highlighting Matt and Brian’s love of collecting wrestling toys!

But that’s not all! Super7 also announced yesterday that they had signed licensing agreements with two of the OG Bullet Club members, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson! As the leader of Los Ingobernables de Japon, Tetsuya Naito has taken the world by storm. Having spent time in Mexico in the original Los Ingobernables faction, Naito returned to Japan to take the top spot on the roster and achieve his destino. Throughout the highs and lows of his career, he’s looked to make his name unforgettable and he did just that when Tetsuya Naito became the first NJPW wrestler to win Double Gold – IWGP Championship and IWGP Intercontinental Championship – at Wrestle Kingdom 14.

With an unpredictable in-ring style and a world outlook that some might call eccentric, Hiromu Takahashi is the wild card of Los Ingobernables de Japon. That wasn’t enough for the King of Darkness, as he brought Kazuchika Okada’s undefeated streak to an end at G1 Climax 27. A win like that is how you welcome the fans and roster alike to the darkness world!

From honing his craft in Mexico to his mascara de luchador, Bushi was a natural fit for Los Ingobernables de Japon. As a part of LIJ, he’s held multiple championships including the Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles and, as of Wrestle Kingdom 14, the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship. If his MX facebreaker doesn’t take out his opponent, a dose of his lethal Poison Mist will.

Muhammad Ali Sofubi Vinyl Figure by Medicom Toy

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee! Medicom Toy continues its epic line of professional wrestler soft vinyl figures – the Sofubi Fighting Series – with the most iconic boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali! No stranger to the squared circle, back in 1976 Ali even faced off against Japanese professional wrestling legend Antonio Inoki at the Nippon Budokan arena in Tokyo. The Muhammad Ali Sofubi Fighting Series Vinyl Figure is the 32nd figure in the series. It stands 9.8” tall, features multiple points of articulation, and will retail for around $90. It is scheduled to ship by Medicom in late January 2020.

Kota Ibushi Blue T-Shirt Edition Soft Vinyl Figure

Although The Blot still doesn’t know how to get one, there is now a third colorway of the Kota Ibushi soft vinyl figure! It looks like this is merely the previously released Full Color Edition Ibushi, but it now comes rocking a cloth blue t-shirt with the word Kamigoe on it. I guess that’s a clothing brand? Rumor is all three colorways of this awesome Kota Ibushi vinyl figure will be available soon at select Japanese retailers.

NJPW Hiroshi Tanahashi 100% Be@rbrick Vinyl Figure by Medicom Toy

Medicom Toy has unveiled the line-up for its upcoming Be@rbrick Blind Box Series 38, and it will include this awesome New Japan Pro Wrestling 100% Be@rbrick of eight time IWGP Heavyweight Champion and the Ace of New Japan, Hiroshi Tanahashi! This is the fourth NJPW 100% Be@rbrick to be released by Medicom, and The Blot can’t wait to add Tanahashi to my collection of Kenny Omega, Okada and Naito.

Be@rbrick Series 38 will drop later this month (June 2019), and should be making its way to the United States in the next few months.

Kota Ibushi Golden Star Edition Soft Vinyl Figure

The Blot still knows next to nothing about this fantastic new Kota Ibushi soft vinyl figure, but I totally need one! The figure which was released last month now has a second colorway – the Golden Star Edition. This limited edition colorway reimagines the super popular New Japan Pro Wrestling superstar as a golden idol covered in metallic gold paint. I’ve got a feeling his tag team partner in the Golden Lovers, Kenny Omega, may be a little jealous about this one. The Golden Star Kota Ibushi vinyl figure stands 10.5” tall, is cast in soft Japanese vinyl and features multiple points of articulation.
