Leviticus 4 Foot Organ Donor Figure by FOOX

On Friday, September 3rd, FOOX debuted some all new work as part of a group show curated by Vanessa Ruiz of Street Anatomy at the International Museum of Surgical Science. This is FOOX’ first museum exhibition, and one piece stands head and shoulders above the rest, a 4 foot tall Organ Donor figure named Leviticus! How awesome is this giant Organ Donor!?!


This Group Show by Street Anatomy promises to bring together 20 pieces of anatomically related street art by 9 wonderfully talented artists, including the likes of FOOX, Stephen Shanabrook, Cake, Emilio Garcia, Jason Freeny, Noah Scalin, Robyn Roth, Heather Tompkins, and Ryan Gerdes. Organ Donors Chinese Edition Vinyl Figures by Foox

The Blot’s a little slow in covering this, but last month Street Anatomy unveiled exclusive Organ Donors Chinese Edition vinyl figures! How cool is that!?! According to Street Anatomy:

David Foox, designer of the popular Organ Donor dolls has given Street Anatomy an exclusive first look at the Chinese edition of the Organ Donors! Foox created these designer vinyl toys in order to bring awareness to the issue of organ donation.


Above is a pre-production snapshot of the new ONE HEART. The final production vinyl (RARE) will have slightly darker reds and the dragon will be metallic gold. This rare version is called ONEHEART and replaces LIONHEART from the US Edition of ORGAN DONORS. There is another super rare vinyl code-named “1949-2009 Forever” (the real name is not being released yet).

The Blot was checking out Foox’ Flickr page and stumbled upon this photo of both Chinese Edition Vinyl Figures (see below)! I assume the second one is the mysterious “1949-2009 Forever” figure mentioned by Street Anatomy, but who knows. The Blot hopes to uncover more information on these exclusive Organ Donors figures very soon.

A Boy and His Organs: A Review of Foox’ Organ Donors

A few weeks ago I finally got my hands on a pair of Organ Donor vinyl figures. Since then, I’ve seen these little guys everywhere! In a comic book store up in Dallas…at San Diego Comic Con…you name it I’ve seen them there. Created by Foox and produced by Erick Scarecrow’s ESC-Toy Ltd., it looks like Organ Donors have officially invaded America.


I first talked about this unique blind box set back in February, but thought I’d blog about them again (and post some pics) now that I’ve seen two of them in person. I pulled a Lion Heart figure and an Eye of the Storm Plasma figure out of my blind boxes and was thrilled. The Lion Heart Organ Donor is definitely one of my favorite figures in the series, second only to the Invincible Lungs with its Iron Man colorway.


The paint job on these 3.25” figures is really great, and I was surprised at the amount of detailed sculpting of the Lion Heart’s organ head considering the figure’s size. I also didn’t realize the Eye of the Storm Plasma figure’s head was see-through, which is also very cool. But best of all, these figures bring attention to the real life implications of organ donation and the lives it saves. I think this is an issue that unfortunately hits home with a lot of us, and I’m a sucker for any designer vinyl figure that draws attention to such an important topic.

Organ Donors by FOOX Blind Box Vinyl Series

The minute The Blot found out about Organ Donors, an all new series of extremely unique blind boxed vinyl figures by FOOX, I knew you guys would want check them out. I especially love this series because of one figure in particular, care to make a guess which one it is? Let’s just say its colorway is based on a certain armored Avenger who also starred in one of the biggest movies of 2008.


The idea for Organ Donors came to artist David Foox when a member of his wife's family had to have a double lung transplant. He had had Cystic Fibrosis since the day he was born and he was lucky enough to get a set of lungs from an Iron Man athlete. Someone's lungs helped this family member to live longer than ever expected, and it was this miracle that was the seed for the Organ Donors by FOOX vinyl toy series.


Each 3.25 inch Organ Donor vinyl figure has 5 points of articulation and comes individually packaged in a blind box with foil wrap on the inside. There are 9 different organs represented in the Organ Donors series (Lungs, Stem Cells, Brains, Eyeball/Cornea, Blood Cells, Kidneys, Livers, Plasma & Heart) with 24 different colorways in all.


Each colorway has it’s own ratio, so some Organ vinyl figures are rarer than others. But no matter which figure you get they all come wearing a typical hospital gown, and you know what that means…the Organ’s butt cheeks are always showing!


The entire series of Organ Donors is limited to just 12,000 figures produced and will retail for $15 per figure.
