2011 Monster Holiday Ornaments by Lysol

2011 Monster Holiday Foam Ornaments by Lysol

For weeks now Lysol has been dropping teaser images on Twitter of a new figure he’s been working on. From the photos I’ve seen, the only thing The Blot could figure out was it had a round head with lots and lots of teeth! Well yesterday Lysol unveiled the final product, and as it turns out it’s actually a pretty sweet looking Monster Ornament for the 2011 holiday season! What’s really cool about these Christmas ornaments is how Lysol created them. Obviously solid resin would be way too heavy to hang on a tree, and he wasn't crazy about the idea of rotocasting each figure by hand. So Lysol tried something complete new, and cast them in foam! Because of this they are very light weight and easy to hang. Pretty neat don’t you think!?!

2011 Red and Green Monster Holiday Foam Ornaments by Lysol

Depending on how these Monster Holiday Ornaments do, Lysol would like to make it a yearly release. So if you’re digging these pick up one or two today! For their inaugural 2011 release, Lysol picked two colorways perfect for the Christmas season: red and green. Each retails for $15 and can be purchased directly from Lysol at the Dead Hand online store. However, these are only going to be on sale this weekend in order to ensure a timely delivery for Christmas. So be sure to hit up the Dead Hand online store by Sunday, December 18th, to get your hands on one of these limited edition holiday ornaments.

First Look: Mini Disney Pop! Vinyl Figure Prototypes

First Look: Mickey Mouse Mini Disney Pop! Vinyl Figure Prototype

Funko dropped some really interesting photos on the Funko Funatic message board recently. From the photos seen here, it looks like the toy company is developing a line of Mini Disney Pop! vinyl figures. Pretty sweet, don’t you think!?! These look to be 1-2 inches shorter than standard Pop! figures, meaning they’d come in at around 2.5” (but that’s completely a guess here).

First Look: Maleficent Mini Disney Pop! Vinyl Figure Prototype

In the photos leaked by Funko, you can see the two prototype Mickey Mouse and Maleficent Mini Disney Pop! vinyl figures along with their standard 3.75” and extra large 9” counterparts. These Mini Pop! figures will definitely be a welcome addition to Funko’s ever growing line of affordable pop culture inspired vinyl figures. More details as they become available!

“Classic” Big Kid Vinyl Figure by Johnny Cupcakes

“Classic” Big Kid Vinyl Figure by Johnny Cupcakes

On Wednesday night Johnny Cupcakes finally released to the world their new line of designer vinyl figures and The Blot couldn’t have been more excited!!! I just happened to stumble upon the surprise release and got giddy to see three different Big Kid vinyl figure colorways available: the “Classic” painted Big Kid, a “Blank” unpainted white Big Kid and the NYCC Exclusive Unpainted GID Big Kid. Each is awesome and still available at the Johnny Cupcakes online store, so go have at ‘em!

“Classic” Big Kid Vinyl Figure Packaging by Johnny Cupcakes

This is Johnny Cupcakes first entry into the world of toys and they definitely made their presence known! Seeing the JC mascot in a tangible, 3D form is pretty awesome. My only problem is deciding which one to buy. The OG “Classic” Big Kid vinyl figure stands 5.5” tall, features black and white paint and comes custom packaging designed by the folks over at Pilot. Pick one up for the very reasonable price of $34.99 at the JC online store and all Johnny Cupcakes retail locations.

The Forest Wanderer Sproglits by Toy Dungeon Studios

The Earth-Tone Forest Wanderer Sproglit Resin Figures by Toy Dungeon Studios

Meet the Forest Wanderers, the vanguard of the Sproglits. Few in number and largely solitary, these stoic adventurers scout far and wide for suitable areas to develop new colonies. The earth-tone Forest Wanderer’s mossy bodies give them some measure of camouflage to ensure that no matter how far they roam, they always come back safe. If you’re not familiar with the Sproglits, they’re mystical creatures from the mind of the Dungeon Master of Toy Dungeon Studios. The DM has created an amazing detailed world of the Sproglits and these resin figures are just the beginning of what is sure to be a crazy adventure through their moon world of Oam-Peltu!

The Forest Wanderer Sproglit resin figures stand 3” tall and feature green flocking on an earth-tone body. Due to their elusive nature, a limited edition run of only 10 figures will be made. You can pick one up on December 23rd at the Toy Dungeon Studios online store for $35 shipped, and each of these little guys will come with a certificate of authenticity signed by none other than the Dungeon Master himself!

Suketchi Mama Noir Resin Set by Erick Scarecrow

ESC Toy - Suketchi Mama Noir Resin Set by Erick Scarecrow

Today, ESC Toy dropped the second Suketchi Mama 3 piece set of resin figures by Erick Scarecrow. The set includes a 5.75" Suketchi Mama resin figure, a 1.75" Paint Shroom, and a 3" Paddopa sketch pad. I have to say, this might be The Blot's favorite ESC resin figure. I love the concept and each piece really plays off of the other two really nicely. I haven't gotten to see tehse in person but doesn't Suketchi Mama look like she's ready to draw with her pencil hands!?!

My Neighbor Totoro Screen Print by Olly Moss

My Neighbor Totoro Standard Edition Screen Print by Olly Moss

The Blot was really wavering on blogging about this one. While I love Olly Moss’ work, I’m not into anime so this new Mondo screen print series with legendary Studio Ghibli really means nothing to me. But fans seem to be going crazy for this Olly poster for the classic Hayao Miyazaki film My Neighbor Totoro, so how could I ignore it completely? There are a lot more details in this print than I’m used to in a Moss print, but if Miyazaki’s fans are happy then so am I.

My Neighbor Totoro Green Variant Screen Print by Olly Moss

The Mondo x Studio Ghibli Series kicks off today with the My Neighbor Totoro print by Olly Moss. This is a 20”x36” hand numbered screen print, has a limited edition run size of 420 pieces and will retail for $50 each. There is also a Green Variant My Neighbor Totoro screen print that has a limited edition run size of 170 pieces and will retail for $90. This go on sale at a random time today, Friday, December 16th, at the Mondo online store.

Yuletide Honoo by Leecifer

Super7 Blind Bagged Yuletide Honoo Vinyl Figure by Leecifer - Standard Undecorated Version & Chase Decorated Version

Super7 isn’t known for releasing blind bagged figures with randomly inserted chase colorways, so The Blot was really surprised to hear they were doing just this with Leecifer’s Monster Family figure, the Honoo. It seems a little out of character for S7, but I’ll let it slide when the chase is this freaking cool!!!

If you like the holidays and look forward to what you're going to get, Yuletide Honoo is ready to join in on the celebrations. Hidden in a blind bag, Honoo comes in two different versions: Undecorated and the Decorated chase filled with tinsels. Both versions of Leecifer's Honoo is cast in clear green vinyl…the Undecorated Version has silver, red, green and brown sprays, while the Decorated Chase has silver, green, yellow, brown sprays and is filled with tinsel. The Yuletide Honoo will go on sale this Friday, December 16th at Noon PST at the Super7 online store for $35 each.

A Little Bit Pink GID Mummy Boy by Super7

A Little Bit Pink Glow in the Dark Mummy Boy Vinyl Figure by Super7

As you all know The Blot is a huge Mummy Boy fan and Super7’s newest colorway has me written all over it! It combines two of my favorite colors of vinyl, pink and glow in the dark, into a stunning new Mummy Boy that’s definitely needs to join my collection. But why oh why is this coming out so close to the Holidays when The Blot has no toy money!

A Little Bit Pink, this Mummy Boy isn't a bit shy as he's got a glowing personality. The mascot of Super7, Mummy Boy lost his arm (and his mind) a long time ago, but he doesn't care - he's just happy to be here. The Little Bit Pink GID Mummy Boy is cast in glow in the dark vinyl with pink sprays and will retail for $50 each. This pink/GID Mummy Boy will go on sale this Friday, December 16th at Noon PST at the Super7 online store.
