Little Italian Temper Tot Print by Ron English

Little Italian Temper Tot Print by Ron English

In October 2012, Ron English painted his first mural in Manhattan in over 20 years. The Temper Tot has since become an iconic part of Mulberry Street and Ron’s most-photographed mural. It stands four-stories tall above Mulberry Street and features a subtle nod to the neighborhood with the rips in its jeans shaped liked the country of Italy. The mural also marked the start of The L.I.S.A. Project NYC, which has since organized dozens of murals in Lower Manhattan. The Blot got to see this massive mural when I was in New York a few weeks ago and was completely blown away! It really is amazing.

Ron English has teamed up with The L.I.S.A. Project NYC and Freshly Baked Gallery to produce a limited edition print of his iconic mural entitled “Little Italian Temper Tot.” While not as massive as the mural, the print is definitely big, and equally impressive. Ron English and master screen printer Donald M. Sheridan worked with Freshly Baked Gallery to refine the Temper Tot image and bring new life to the mural in the form of a truly unique limited edition print.

While the LISA mural employs negative space and scale to catch viewers’ attention, the archival reproductions have a layer of hand-stenciled florescent green spraypaint (done by hand by Ron English himself) to ensure the same effect on a smaller scale.

“Little Italian Temper Tot” by Ron English is a 22”x30” hybrid reproduction giclée limited to just 50 pieces. These archival grade giclée prints were hand-stenciled by Ron English before master printer Donald Sheridan added a silkscreen gloss, making each print a unique one of a kind piece of artwork. This “incredible” print is available now at the Freshly Baked Gallery online store for $300. Look for more The L.I.S.A.
