Last week at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Mattel released this epic WWE “Rock 'N Wrestling” Action Figure Box Set featuring “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Captain Lou Albano and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Cyndi Lauper! During Lauper's rise to fame in the early 1980s, WWE's Captain Lou Albano featured prominently in her "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" music video as Cyndi’s burly, bearded, overbearing father, leading to a real-life friendship between the two.
Soon thereafter, Lauper appeared as a guest on “Rowdy” Roddy Piper's famed segment, Piper’s Pit. The MTV darling soon found herself in the middle of brawls, including Piper smashing a gold record over Albano, and ringside managing Wendi Richter in 1984’s Brawl To End It All. This Rock 'N Wrestling Connection with one of music's biggest stars launched WWE into the mainstream, and changed the course of entertainment history forever!
