The Cast of LOST Comes to Houston for Comicpalooza X!

Comicpalooza, Texas' largest entertainment and pop culture convention, will be hosting a mini LOST cast reunion when the Houston comic con takes place in three weeks (May 25-27). The Blot knew Comicpalooza had big things in store for their 10th anniversary, but even I wasn’t prepared for this news! If you’ve been reading The Blot Says for a long time then you know what a diehard LOST fan I am. So of course I’m beyond excited to learn that LOST’s Michael Emerson, Henry Ian Cusick, Nestor Carbonell, MC Gainey, and Francois Chau will all be in Houston to meet fans, take photos and sign autographs.

Shockingly, through all of The Blot’s many comic con adventures of the past 15+ years, I’ve never actually met any of the hit ABC television show’s core cast members. That changes this month when Ben Linus, Desmond Hume, Richard Alpert, Mr. Friendly and Dr. Pierre Chang come to Texas. It’s practically a who’s who of the Dharma Initiative! And for all you diehard LOSTies out there, there’s even a LOST group photo option that you can purchase here. For $200 you can take a group photo with all five actors from the iconic series.

Marvel’s The Inhumans Television Series Character Poster Set #2

While Marvel’s upcoming, live action The Inhumans television series appears to be absolutely terrible, the show’s newest set of character posters actually look pretty cool (well, except Madusa – she’s a lost cause). One of the reasons why is the characters more closely resemble their comic book counterparts. That and we’re shielded from the cheesy special effects of the upcoming ABC television series.

Marvel’s The Inhumans will air this fall on ABC and stars Anson Mount as Black Bolt, Serinda Swan as Medusa, Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Ken Leung as Karnak, Mike Moh as Triton and Iwan Rheon as the evil Maximus.

Marvel’s Inhumans TV Series Character Poster Set

The show that came out looking the worst after San Diego Comic-Con 2017 has to be Marvel’s upcoming live action Inhumans show on ABC. That first trailer for the series looks terrible! You have to wonder who looked at this show and thought it looked good, especially since some of the same Marvel people have been overseeing the new X-Men show on FOX, Gifted, which looks amazing. I will say Lockjaw looks pretty damn cool, and I’m definitely intrigued by Iwan Rheon’s Maximus. But why oh why does Serinda Swan’s Medusa look so, so terrible!?!

While we’re still a few months away from the show’s premiere, they have released a pretty cool looking new set of Inhumans character television poster set. I like how they’ve incorporated Black Bolt’s signature antenna, even though he doesn’t appear to ever wear it on the show. The first chapter of Inhumans will premiere early on IMAX in theaters on September 1st. The series will then start airing on September 29th on ABC.

Inhumans: A Marvel Television Series Teaser Poster & Cast Photo

For whatever release, the leadership behind Marvel Comics and Marvel Television are really, really, really trying to push the Inhumans onto the world of pop culture. First they tried to force the Inhumans Royal Family on to Marvel Studios as a film, and then they tried to make the Inhumans a replacement for the X-Men in their comic book continuity. And let me just tell you, neither of those worked! So instead of just giving up and admitting that the Inhumans aren’t A-list characters, they’re going to try to force feed Black Bolt and Medusa one more time as a live action television series.

While The Blot’s pumped about seeing Lockjaw and Crystal on my television screen, there is zero chance this show is successful. For whatever release, Marvel just can’t get network TV right. While the show’s first teaser poster looks awesome, have you seen the terrible costumes they’re using in the show? And what is going on with Medusa's hair!?! Gag me with a spoon…

LOST Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko

The Blot can’t believe it! Ever since Funko launched its POP! toy line back in 2010 I have been clamoring for a wave of LOST Pop! figures. Although Funko has been teasing the release of LOST Pop! figures for over a year, I honestly thought it might never happen. But check out the world’s first look at Funko’s upcoming LOST Pop! Series!!! The first wave of figures will include Jack Shephard, Kate Austen, James “Sawyer” Ford, John Locke, Hugo “Hurley” Reyes, Jacob and the Man in Black.

It’s very,very odd that Funko would include both Jacob and the Man in Black in their first wave of LOST Pop! figures (where’s Jin and Sun?), but beggars can’t be choosers! Heck I'm just glad ABC agreed to grant a license to Funko. Each LOST Pop! Marvel's Agents of Shield Season 4 Teaser Poster Featuring Ghost Rider!

Ever since San Diego Comic-Con 2016, all anyone can talk about is Ghost Rider’s upcoming appearance on Marvel’s Agents of Shield Season 4! In the past week not only has ABC released nice new teaser television poster for AoS S4 featuring Ghost Rider, but also a full still photo of the popular Spirit of Vengeance. If you haven’t heard already, this Ghost Rider is not Johnny Blaze or even Danny Ketch. Instead, Agents of Shield is going with the newest version of Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes, who drives a black classic muscle car instead of a flaming motorcycle. What do you think of the newest incarnation of a live action Ghost Rider!?!

Marvel’s Agents of Shield Season 4 is set to premiere on September 20th at 10/9c on ABC.

SDCC 16 Exclusive Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD Season 4 Teaser Poster & Trailer with Ghost Rider!

At San Diego Comic-Con 2016 last weekend Marvel released a teaser poster for the upcoming fourth season of Agents of SHIELD on ABC. The poster features the show’s cast with art by Mike Perkins. What’s most notable about both the poster and the show’s Season 4 teaser trailer is they officially announced the arrival of Ghost Rider to Agents of SHIELD!

This isn’t your father’s Ghost Rider though, as it’s the “All-New” Ghost Rider Robbie Reyes (to be portrayed by Gabriel Luna) who will drive a car and not a motorcycle. The Blot’s pretty shocked Marvel decided to add Ghost Rider to Agents of SHIELD instead of to one of their darker Netflix shows, but maybe this is their way to tie the larger Marvel TV Universe together.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 Television Poster

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but The Blot is really excited about the season premiere of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD tonight! The ABC show has definitely had its ups and downs, but I’m hoping it has finally hit its stride now that the Inhumans are established within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It should be interesting to see the role these super powered beings in Agents of SHIELD, especially now that SHIELD’s Secret Warriors are about to be formed! Now here’s hoping that Mockingbird and Hunter spin-off show doesn’t happen. They’ve been a big part of the show’s resurgence and I love their chemistry with the rest of the cast. Taking them away for a short lived spin-off will be a big blow to Agents of SHIELD.

Agents of SHIELD premieres on ABC tonight, Tuesday, September 29th, at 9/8c.

The Muppets Teaser Television Posters

Although The Blot isn’t sold on the format of ABC’s upcoming live action The Muppets television show, I’m beyond thrilled our favorite merry band of puppets are finally returning to primetime. It’s hard to believe it’s been decades since Kermit and company last had a show on network television. There was a big press junket for the show yesterday, with the biggest news being the show will feature a newly single Kermit and Miss Piggy. Kind of an odd choice, right!?!

The Blot is loving this set of The Muppets television posters ABC has released, but it begs the question what other Muppets will be featured on the show other than the core four. While obviously characters such as Animal, Scooter, Rowlf and the Swedish Chef will make appearances, but I’m dying to know what other Muppets will be showing up on a weekly basis. Like will Walter be making the big transition from movies to TV? All I know is Sweetums better be showing up!

The Muppets, co-created by Bill Prady and Bob Kushell, will air on Tuesday nights this fall on ABC.

The Muppets Minimates Series 1

It’s certainly a good time to be a Muppets fan! After two hit movies, The Muppets are now getting a new live action television series on ABC and a Minimates mini figure toy line by Diamond Select Toys. SDCC 15 First Look: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 “Secret Warriors” Teaser Poster

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe made the shocking decision not to hold a panel to promote its films in San Diego Comic-Con’s famed Hall H this year, the Marvel Television will be at SDCC in full force and taking over large chunks of Ballroom 20. This means we should be expecting tons of news on ABC’s Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter! Which is a good thing since all anyone can talk about is this really exciting San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusive teaser poster for Agents of SHIELD Season 3 that announced the impending arrival of the Secret Warriors to the MCU!

Fans of Marvel’s comic books know the Secret Warriors are a team of super powered SHIELD agents formed by Nick Fury, which included Daisy Johnson a.k.a. Quake a.k.a. the comic book version of Agents of SHIELD’s Skye. So might this be where Skye’s future is heading on the hit ABC television show? Only time will tell, but all signs point to yes! We will hopefully find out more next week at Comic-Con.

SDCC 15 First Look: Marvel’s Agent Carter Season 2 Teaser Poster

It makes The Blot’s blogging life so much easier now that almost everyone is announcing and unveiling their big San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive posters the week before the convention. First up is this awesome teaser television poster for Marvel’s Agent Carter Season 2! This awesome illustrated TV poster confirms two big storyline tidbits for S2: 1) that the show and Agent Carter (Hayley Atwell) are moving west to Los Angeles, California, and 2) that James D’Arcy’s Edwin Jarvis will return as a main cast member. EW has also confirmed that Enver Gjokaj (as Daniel Sousa) would also return to the show. What does this mean for Chad Michael Murray’s Jack Thompson? Only time will tell!

The Blot can’t even tell you how excited I was to learn Funko would be releasing a Pop! vinyl figure of Marvel’s Agent Carter! After ignoring female Marvel characters for so long, Funko’s released a string of four awesome female heroes, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Melinda May and now Agent Peggy Carter! First the hit ABC television show has been renewed for a second season and now it gets a Marvel Pop! vinyl figure of its very own. Star Hayley Atwell has never looked so good. And I love that the figure comes with a vile of Captain America’s blood that was hidden from the American government by Howard Stark.

Agents of SHIELD The Art of Evolution Print Series - “S.O.S. Part Two” by Joshua Budich

Marvel is celebrating the second half of Agents of SHIELD Season 2 with an all new print series based on the hit ABC television show! After the huge success of last year’s The Art of Level 7 print series, Marvel has decided to do it all over again. This season the poster series is entitled “The Art of Evolution,” and for 12 straight weeks Marvel will be releasing a new lithograph for each episode in the back half of Agents of SHIELD Season 2.

The twelfth and final Agents of SHIELD print in this exciting series is “S.O.S. Part Two” by one of The Blot’s favorite artists, Joshua Budich! Budich went all out with this design for the show’s Season 2 finale by recreating the show’s entire cast in his signature style.
