New Year’s Eve 2014 “Keep Watch” GID Mishka Boy by Super7 & Mishka

Super7 continues its tradition of surprise New Year’s Eve releases at the stroke of midnight! What better way to ring in the New Year than with the year’s very first toy release!?! This year Super7 teamed up with Mishka to create a super secret collab, the New Year's Eve “Keep Watch” Mummy Boy! With some help from a couple fellow creepy creature creators, this new fiendish 6” monstrosity was sold exclusively at the Super7 online store for $50 each. Sadly, these glow in the dark sofubi figures sold out immediately upon release (or at least they were sold out when The Blot woke up yesterday morning).  Here's hoping Super7 and Mishka continue to release new colorways of the Keep Watch Mummy Boy because that bandaged eye ball looks fantastic!

Gold & Silver New Year Calaverita Vinyl Figures by The Beast Brothers

The Beast Brothers ended 2012 with a surprise release of their popular Calaverita Sofubi vinyl figures! What’s really great about the New Year Calaverita is it’s actually two metallic colorways. Each shiny 5” soft vinyl figure comes hand painted in either Gold or Silver. Each version is limited to just 13 pieces and retailed for $70 exclusively at The Beast Brothers’ online store. Unfortunately, these sold out almost instantly upon release. The Blot can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of these once they start getting in collectors’ hands. From the pics I’ve seen they look fantastic.

Each figure comes packaged in a clear bag with a header card and is cast in soft Japanese vinyl.

It’s 2009, can you believe it?

The plan was to have a post for today counting down my favorite graphic novels of 2008. But, between being out of town all last week and being extremely busy this week I didn’t have a chance to write the post yet. Therefore, it might show up later today (depending on how I’m feeling after a very long night out celebrating New Year’s Eve) or it might show up on Monday (Friday’s posts have already been written…see I’m not a total slacker). Now I feel as though I’ve added a bit of mystery to The Blot Says… by keeping you guys guessing as to when The Blot’s one and only 2008 Top 10 list will be showing up.

I hope everyone had a great NYE last night and here’s to a healthy and happy new year. Hopefully 2009 will be even better than '08.
