DCon 2022 Exclusive “Magma” Sky King Pterantor & “Whale Shark” Rhino Beetle Vinyl Figures by Chris Lee (The Beast Is Back)

Chris Lee, a.k.a. The Beast Is Back, will be at Designer Con 2022 this weekend in Anaheim, CA where he will be releasing two DCon exclusives – the “Magma” Sky King Pterantor and the “Whale Shark” Rhino Beetle! The limited edition Rhino Beetle is an homage to one of Chris’ favorite sea creatures, the whale shark. It is limited to just 90 pieces and will retail for $75. The “Magma” Pterantor was cast in Bordeaux tinted vinyl, is limited to 75 pieces and will retail for $100. Both figures can be purchased at The Beast Is Back DCon booth #2605.

Sky King Pterantor Milk Chocolate Blank Edition Vinyl Figure by Chris Lee (The Beast is Back)

Yesterday, Chris Lee (aka The Beast is Back) released a new colorway of his awesome soft vinyl figure, Sky King Pterantor! Celebrate spring on Primeval Island with this “Milk Chocolate” Blank Variant Sky King Pterantor.  As Lee explained, “It’s kind of a silly release so I themed it like a classic Easter gift basket. I also thought I was losing my mind when trying to spec the Pantone swatch that was closest to milk chocolate – there are SO many shades of brown.”

The Sky King Pterantor Milk Chocolate Blank Edition Vinyl Figure by Chris Lee stands 8” tall with 1 point of articulation (at the head).  Limited to just 80 pieces, this delicious new colorway went on sale exclusively at store.thebeastisback.com for $50 before instantly selling out. Each soft vinyl toy includes a bunch of fun extras, like a vintage foam Pterosaur glider and a hundred million year old egg with a couple surprises inside. The larger vintage dinosaur figures are randomly packed.

Sky King Pterantor Phantasm Edition Vinyl Figure by Chris Lee (The Beast is Back) – A Mondo Exclusive!

Yesterday, Mondo release its retailer exclusive Phantasm Edition colorway of Chris Lee’s (aka The Beast is Back) Sky King Pterantor soft vinyl figure!  As Mondo explained, “After a full year of development and production, this release in the self-produced Primeval Island series is inspired by the artist’s love of dinosaurs, vintage kaiju toys... and the pteranodon.”

The legends speak of a remote island that exists somewhere in the uncharted waters of the South Pacific – untouched by man and ruled by giant prehistoric beasts. It is a land filled with teeth and claws – the domain of monsters.  What could be the next figure in Chris Lee’s Primeval Island Series!?!

The Mondo Exclusive Phantasm Edition Sky King Pterantor Vinyl Figure by The Beast is Back stands 8” tall and is 8” wide.  The Phantasm Edition is limited to 100 pieces and glows in the dark!
