New Spider-Man “Premium” Hikari Sofubi Vinyl Figure Colorways by Funko

Metal Mix Spider-Man Premium Marvel Hikari Sofubi Vinyl Figure by Funko

If you’re collecting Funko’s awesome new Spider-Man Premium Hikari Sofubi vinyl figures, then you’re in luck! Because the Washington based toy company has unveiled two new Spider-Man Hikari colorways. First up is the “Metal Mix” Spider-Man, which is limited to just 500 pieces. I really like this copper and pewter color scheme Funko has christened the “Metal Mix” colorway for a few of its Hikari figures. It plays off their sculpts very nicely. The second colorway is the “Distressed” Spider-Man, which is limited to 750 pieces. As you can imagine, this figure looks pretty beat up!

New Spider-Man “Premium” Hikari Sofubi Vinyl Figure Colorways by Funko

“Blaze” The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Premium Marvel Hikari Sofubi Vinyl Figure by Funko

The Blot’s been waiting for these new Spider-Man Hikari Japanese Vinyl Figures to drop ever since I first saw a pic of them on display at Funko's San Diego Comic-Con 2014 booth! I just had no idea they would be Premium Edition Hikari that stand over 10” tall. Is it just me or are they going to look a little strange next to the Groot Hikari that’s 11” tall? Groot really should tower over Spider-Man. To launch this new figure, Funko has released three new Spider-Man Hikari colorways in a very short period of time: “Blaze” (LE 1,500), “New Dimension” Edition (LE 1,500) and the Barnes and Noble Exclusive “Dangerous” (LE 1,000), which features beautiful marbled black and grey vinyl.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Final One Sheet Movie Poster

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Theatrical Final One Sheet Movie Poster

The Blot is ending our The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Day here at TheBlotSays.com with the final one sheet movie poster for the film. This is probably the best Sony produced poster I’ve seen, because it does a great job making Spidey look heroic (and somewhat realistic). I also love the Oscorp logo on the steel beam. That’s a really nice touch. No clue when I’m actually going to get a chance to see this Marvel film though. From the looks of it I don’t think it’s worth the effort of trying to see it in the theater, especially when X-Men: Days of Future Past will be out in just a few short weeks. To me ASM2 is more of a rental than a must see film in the theater.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into theaters everywhere today, Friday, May 2nd.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 International Movie Posters

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 International Movie Poster - Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy & Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man

Why are the international one sheet movie posters for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 so much better than the dreck we get here in the US? And more importantly, why hasn’t Sony made Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy a larger part of the film’s marketing campaign? From the reviews The Blot’s read she’s one of the highlights of the film. And it’s not like she’s a lame secondary character. She’s a pretty prominent character in the Marvel comic book universe.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 “Villain” Movie Posters

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 “Villain” Movie Posters - Spider-Man vs Rhino

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 finally hits theaters today in the US, and based on everything I’ve read it’s getting hammered by the critics. One thing that hasn’t helped the film is the number of villains clogging up the story. The Blot’s really surprised Sony didn’t learn its lesson with Spider-Man 3 from just a few years ago. I do like how these “Villain” teaser one sheet movie posters allude to the three villains appearing in ASM2: Electro, Green Goblin and Rhino. I’m really excited to see how this film leads into the rumored Sinister Six live action film.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 “Spider-Man vs Electro” Movie Posters

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 “Spider-Man vs Electro” Movie Poster

The Blot’s been sitting on these images of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie posters for months because honestly, they kinda suck. You’d think a battle between Spider-Man and Electro would look awesome, but Sony did such a bad job with the SFX that all of their scenes look so fake. I’m not saying a man made of electricity needs to look 100% real, but when I see these one sheet movie posters or an ASM2 trailer all I see is how unnatural the characters look flying through the air fighting. Remember when Jamie Foxx was a respected, Oscar winning actor?

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 IMAX Opening Night Movie Poster by Matt Taylor

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 IMAX Opening Night Movie Poster by Matt Taylor

It’s become an annual tradition for IMAX theaters across the US to give away awesome limited edition lithographs at opening night of a summer blockbuster. This year IMAX is teamed up with Mondo to release this epic Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie poster by Matt Taylor. After seeing all the horrible ASM2 movie posters Sony has released this year, it’s easy for The Blot to say this is the best Spidey movie poster released for the film.  Taylor did a great job giving a Marvel Comics look to the film.

IMAX fans who are in attendance at select theaters to see Amazing Spider-Man 2 on opening night at 7pm on Thursday, May 1st will get one for free! The Blot wasn’t able to go see ASM2 last night, but I hope a most of you were and snagged a copy of this awesome poster.

What a perfect release just in time for the debut of Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters everywhere next week. Both “Good Versus Evil” Versus Series t-shirts are currently available for pre-order at the Johnny Cupcakes online store for a limited time. Both shirts are available in guys and girls styles sizes S-XXL and retail for just $35 each. “Arachnid” Spider-Man Big Kid comes on a sweet heather grey tee, while “Symbiote” Venom Big Kid of course comes on an all black shirt.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Wacky Wobbler Bobble Heads by Funko

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Wacky Wobbler Bobble Heads by Funko - Spider-Man & Electro

Sadly, the more The Blot sees of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the less excited I get for this film. While I really liked the first Spidey film after Sony rebooted its franchise, this film looks like it’s trying to do too much. Plus, I really hate the look of Jamie Foxx’ Electro. Regardless, Funko did a really nice job with these The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Wacky Wobbler Bobble Heads. If you’re a collector of Marvel Comics bobble heads then I can definitely see why you’d want to snag these 7” bobble heads.

Each The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Wacky Wobbler Bobble Head by Funko comes packaged in a full color window box and a detailed base. While these figures are not scheduled to swing into store shelves until April 2014, you can pre-order both of them from Entertainment Earth for $12.99 each here.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figures by Funko

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figures by Funko - Spider-Man & Electro

With at least four huge Marvel live action films released in 2014, The Blot expects to see some epic tie-in movie toys! So far I haven’t been disappointed with the unveiling of Funko’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier Pop! and now these adorable The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Pop! vinyl figures. Marvel fans won’t want to miss out on these movie versions of Spider-Man and the villainous Electro. It’s just so unfortunate that ASM2’s Electro looks so terrible!

Each The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Pop! Marvel vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. These figures aren’t expected to hit store shelves until April 2014, but you can pre-order them now from Entertainment Earth for $9.99 each here.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Teaser Movie Poster

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Teaser One Sheet Movie Poster - His Greatest Battle Begins May 2

The newest teaser one sheet movie poster for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has been released, and it’s pretty boring (to say the least). Why does Sony continue to put out these bland movie posters for its Spider-Man franchise? You’d think Sony would be doing everything they can to make Spidey look cool considering old web-head is the center of their growing little corner of the Marvel Universe. With Venom and Secret Six films now in development and more on the way, ASM2 needs to be as big of The Avengers if it hopes to launch all these new film franchises. I guess we'll see what happens when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 premieres on May 2, 2014.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Teaser Movie Poster Triptic & 1st Trailer

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Teaser Movie Poster Triptic

The Blot’s been anxiously waiting for our first live action look at Sony’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. While the photos I’ve seen these past few months haven’t really excited me, the film’s first trailer (released yesterday) looks fantastic! I love all the action, but don’t take my word for it. Watch the trailer below in all its Marvel glory! Sadly, I hate what Sony’s done with two of Spidey’s signature villains, Electro and the Rhino. Why can’t they just go with the characters’ traditional looks? As you can see from the ASM 2 teaser movie poster triptic above, these are not the villains’ signature looks by any means. I'm reserving judgement on the Green Goblin until we see more of the villain.
