Pearl Jam Re-Issues Debut Album Ten With 4 Different Special Edition Packages

This announcement has The Blot all kinds of excited. As you all know by now, The Blot is obsessed with Pearl Jam. They’ve been my favorite band since I first heard Ten way back in 1991 (as a sprout 12 year old I might add). According to PearlJam.com, “the reissue of Ten serves as the launch of a planned two-year catalogue re-release campaign leading up to the band’s 20th anniversary in 2011.” (link) There will be four different special edition packages of the Ten re-issue, each with a different price and a corresponding number of extras included.

Pearl Jam
The four Ten re-issue special edition packages will hit stores on March 24, 2009 but for all you die hard fans you can pre-order the 2008 Ten Super Deluxe Edition here for $140.00 (which includes free shipping anywhere in the U.S.). It’s the largest of the four deluxe editions and includes everything they could come up with. While I’d love to get my hands on one of these bad boys, the price is a little much for me. I think I’ll just be going for the Deluxe Edition, which also includes a DVD of Pearl Jam’s previously unreleased 1992 MTV Unplugged performance. I’ve been dying for a legit copy of their Unplugged performance for years and won’t be passing up on a chance to finally own it!

G.I. Joe Mighty Muggs Wave 1 In Package Photos

Continuing my series of no real new Mighty Muggs news posts, I thought I’d share pictures of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe Mighty Muggs Wave 1 in their multi-colored window packaging. Although the boxes for the Mighty Muggs line of collectible vinyl figures are pretty basic, I think they did a great job with them nonetheless. I love the way they did the face of the characters on the top of each box and the way the figure’s body is split on each corner. It’s simple and yet effective. G.I. Joe Mighty Muggs Wave 1 - Snake Eyes Mighty Mugg in Package G.I. Joe Mighty Muggs Wave 1 - Storm Shadow Mighty Mugg in Package The biggest question I have about this new line of Mighty Muggs is when did Hasbro decide to start giving figures two accessories!?! I know Star Wars’ Asajj Ventress came with two lightsabers and I can understand Snake Eyes coming with both a gun and a sword, but now even Cobra Commander is getting two accessories, a cape and a gun. It really ticks me off because my Lando Calrissian only came with a cape! Lando needs (and deserves) a gun! I guess I’ll just have to take Cobra Commander’s gun and pretend it’s a Star Wars blaster. G.I. Joe Mighty Muggs Wave 1 - Cobra Commander Mighty Mugg in Package G.I. Joe Mighty Muggs Wave 1 - Duke Mighty Mugg in Package G.I. Joe Mighty Muggs Wave 1 consists of Duke, Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. These awesome designer vinyl figures can be found in stores now and should retail for somewhere between $9.99 and $20.

Ye Olde English UK 3 Inch Dunny Series and Ratios

Kidrobot sure knows how to start off the New Year with a bang. This week they announced a brand new series of 3” Dunnys would be coming out on January 22nd. The Ye Olde English Dunny Series features some of the hottest artists from the UK and is sure to have fans scrambling to collect the set’s 17 blind boxed 3 inch vinyl figures, which also includes 2 chase figures. The only downside to this series is the increased price. A blind box will now cost collectors $7.95 a figure.

Kidrobot - Ye Olde English UK Dunny Series
The Ye Olde English Dunny series features artwork by Clutter, Doktor A, Frames, HiCalorie x Julie West, ilovedust, Jon Burgerman, Keanan Duffty, McFaul, Mimic, Peskimo, Shok 1, Tado, Triclops and UAMOU. It’s nice to see a mix of familiar names and up and coming UK artitsts.

For all the Dunny collectors out there The Blot is excited to share the UK Series’ ratios, which you can check out in the photo below. From the numbers here, it looks like it shouldn’t be too hard to collect the entire series! Without having seen the two chase figures yet, I have to say I think the Rain Man Dunny is my favorite so far with Doktor A’s figure coming at a close second. Anyone else picked out their favorite UK Dunny yet?

Lost Wednesdays - Official Lost Season 5 Cast Photo

The Blot’s been searching the web for weeks for this season’s official cast photo. I finally found out yesterday why I couldn’t find it, ABC hadn't released it yet! Anyway, here is the Lost Season 5 official cast photo and there is at least one major spoiler hidden in it, and no it’s not that Jeff Fahey’s Frank Lapidus is missing from the photo. Lapidus is still only a reoccurring character and not an official member of the cast. It’s also not the absense of Daniel Dae Kim’s Jin Kwon. While his character Jin was “killed” in the Season 4 finale, I don’t think there is a chance he’s gone for good. But, they couldn’t ruin that potential surprise in the official cast photo. I’ll discuss the spoiler that I have withheld from mentioning on The Blot Says… for months after the photo.

Official Lost Season 5 Cast Photo
The most shocking Lost news from the past 6 months has to be that Emilie de Ravin’s contract has been put on hold and she will not be appearing in Season 5. (link) Have no fear though, she has not left the show entirely. According to both de Ravin and Lost executives, her character Claire Littleton will be back for the show’s sixth and final season in 2010. Evidently Claire’s storyline has ended for the foreseeable future, which is really a shock considering how many questions we all still have about her connection to both Jacob and the deceased yet walking around Christian Shephard. Rumor has it she is now a member of the walking dead, but I’m not sure I buy that. If that is true, who killed her that day in the jungle and why!?!

Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 1 In Packaging Photos

The Blot’s been a little disappointed lately when it comes to Hasbro's Mighty Muggs. While I love the toy line, there has been absolutely no new news as to any of Hasbro’s five different lines of the adorable little designer vinyl figures! I am guessing they are waiting to announce any new Waves until their two new Mighty Muggs lines (Transformers and G.I. Joe) hit store shelves. In the meantime, I thought I’d bring you some photos of Transformers Mighty Muggs Wave 1 in their multi-colored window boxed packaging.

Corporal “Thundersticks” Anson Custom Munny by Huck Gee

Huck Gee - Corporal Thundersticks Anson Hand Painted Custom Munny
It should be no surprise that Huck Gee has already created the next figure in his UTCMC Colonial Life Series, Corporal R.H. “Thundersticks” Anson. CPL Anson is one of the original core members of the infamous ZOR Dread Squad and would look killer next to his fellow ZOR Dread Squad team member Sgt. Vasquez. I didn’t think Huck could outdo himself after the Sgt. Vasquez hand painted custom Munny, but really he has. While Thundersticks’ weapons are the best part of Huck’s latest custom figure, his tattoos and mohawk are also a really nice touch.

As with all of Huck’s hand painted custom figures, each Corporal Anson Munny will come signed and numbered (on breast plate and shoulder pad) and the figures come with all of the accessories shown here. The CPL Anson Munny has a limited run of just 10 figures and will be sold for $750 each. The Munnys are limited to just one per customer and will go on sale at Huck Gee’s eBay store this Friday, December 12th, 2008 at Noon PST.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - First Look at Gambit

This weekend you can catch the very first full length trailer for the upcoming movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which will be showing before the sci-fi thriller The Day the Earth Stood Still. The Blot has no idea who will be featured in the film's upcoming trailer, but I am sure it will be action packed. In the meantime, here is your very first look at Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) as the Cajun mutant Gambit. Kitsch does a great job looking the part with Gambit’s trademark hair and purple wardrobe, but he is missing Remy LeBeau’s piercing red eyes. The Blot cannot wait to see how X-Men Origins: Wolverine pulls off Gambit’s exploding card trick.

Barneyism of the Week - The Fight

Come on Ted, there’s only three things you’ll ever see me fight:

the stubborn clasp of a bra,

sexual harassment charges, nine for nine,

and the urge to vomit when I see someone wearing
brown shoes with a black suit.

How I Met Your Mother

Here’s one exciting tidbit of information on the cast of How I Met Your Mother, People is reporting that Cobie Smulders (Robin) is expecting her first child with actor Taran Killam. (link) Smulders’ rep has confirmed the child is due in late spring. I’m interested in seeing how this new development will be handled later in the season. Will the show ignore the pregnancy completely or will it be written into the show?

Also, for those of you interested in finding out more about Lily’s list of "The 50 Reasons People Have Sex" from last week’s episode “The Naked Man,” you can now read the entire list below. The fine writers of HIMYM went ahead and not only completed Lily’s list for us, but also published it on an official MacLaren’s napkin!

Classic Star Trek Vinyl Figures Wave 1

The Blot doesn’t know much about this upcoming line of Star Trek designer vinyl figures other than they are based on the original Star Trek television series. These 5.5 inch figures are a perfect combination of urban vinyl cool (with their big feet and hands) and the classic Star Trek’s retro futuristic look. Star Trek Wave 1 includes Captain Kirk, Spock and an Orion Slave Girl, one of the most recognizable aliens from Star Trek’s original television series.

The Star Trek vinyl figures are slated to hit stores sometime in April or May of 2009 and will retail for between $10-15 each.

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog DVD Available For Pre-Order On Amazon.Com

The Blot was pretty excited to find out that Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion is now available for pre-order as an Amazon.com exclusive. Best of all, it comes with bonus material including a musical commentary track! One interesting tidbit is that Amazon is manufacturing the DVD based on demand using DVD-R recordable media. I guess this is a way to cut down on costs and make Dr. Horrible profitable enough to actually manufacture. One upside to this is that there is no regional encoding, meaning it will play on all DVD players worldwide.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog DVD Cover
If you pre-order Joss Whedon’s internet sensation right now you can get the DVD for just $9.99 (instead of its listed retail price of $14.99). Plus, if your total order is over $25.00 you will qualify for free shipping making Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog DVD super cheap.

If you’re looking for more stories from the world of Dr. Horrible then check out these great free online comic books courtesy of Dark Horse Comics and MySpace. The first story features Dr. Horrible’s archenemy Captain Hammer. It is entitled Captain Hammer: Be Like Me! and was written by Zack Whedon and drawn by Eric Canete. The second story is a secret origins tale and features Dr. Horrible’s slightly wet sidekick Moist! It’s entitled Moist: Humidity Rising and was written by Zack Whedon and drawn by Farel Dalrymple.
