Funguhs Resin Figure by Lysol

Meet Funguhs, the newest resin figure from Lysol and Dead Hand Toys! Lysol has been super busy over the past year creating some really exciting mini-monsters including the Gread, Teuth and now Funguhs. For Funguhs’ first release, Lysol produced not 1 but 2 different colorways: Green and Green Tint (which I’ve dubbed the Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. colorway).

Funguhs stands about 2" tall goes on sale for the very first time at noon EST today, Friday, August 12th, at the Dead Hand Toys online store. Each hand cast and hand painted figure retails for $15 and comes bagged with a header card. Get one if you can!!!

Universal Monsters Screen Prints by Kevin Tong & Martin Ansin

Yesterday Mondo announced the its all new Universal Monsters screen print series, which debuts today with two amazing prints. The first release is by Kevin Tong who has masterfully illustrated the poster for H. G. Wells' classic film The Invisible Man. The Blot absolutely loves what Kevin did with this print, especially the way he illustrated the bandages coming off the Invisible Man’s head.

The second Universal Monsters release is The Mummy by Martin Ansin, who has truly outdone himself. Just look at the Hieroglyphic Variant below which is an accurate translation of the film’s credit block! How freaking cool is that!??!

Both prints seen above will go on sale at the Mondo online store today, Thursday, August 11th, at a random time. The Invisible Man by Kevin Tong is a 24"x36" hand numbered screen print. This print has a limited edition run size of 285 prints and will retail for $45. The Mummy by Martin Ansin is a 24"x36" hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 385 pieces and will retail for $45, while the Hieroglyphic Variant has a limited edition run size of 150 pieces and will retail for $75.

Boba Fett Custom 3” Dunny by Quin.Sey

Italian artists Quin.Sey is back! You probably remember his awesome Batman Custom Dunny Series from a few months back, and he’s bringing the heat again with this spot on custom Boba Fett 3” Dunny. The Blot’s a sucker for all things Boba Fett (since he’s my favorite Star Wars character), and I’m really digging the worn out look Quin.Sey gave the custom.

Green Lantern Got Milk? Ad

The Blot is waaaaay behind on posting this Green Lantern Got Milk? ad featuring Ryan Reynolds, but it’s still technically the 2011 summer movie season so I think it’s ok. I love these super hero movie Got Milk? ads, and am glad the Milk Mustache Campaign keeps releasing them. I actually had a Phantom Got Milk? ad hanging in my room when that horrible live action The Phantom movie came out in 1996! Since then there have been a ton of Got Milk? super hero movie ads, including a Wolverine ad in 2008 for X-Men Origins: Wolverine and a Batman ad in 2009 for The Dark Knight. Now that I'm thinking about it, did I miss 2010’s Got Milk? ad? I’m assuming there’s an Iron Man 2 Got Milk? ad out there somewhere, but I must have missed it.

After a week of unveiling the roster of Toy2R’s upcoming 36" Artist Qee Collection, the designer toy world now gets its very first look at Emilio Garcia's Brain Pattern Qee in XL scale - 36 inches of awe inspiring brain power! Limited to only 36 pieces worldwide, these special editions 3 foot tall vinyl figures are made to order and once they are gone - that's it - so collectors get ready! The Blot had no idea when Toy2R first announced its new line of 36” Artist Qees they would be this limited (or this expensive). With a retail price of $2,800 each, these artist editions are some serious high end collectibles. I hope everyone’s been pinching their pennies!

The Art in the Streets Graffiti Exhibit

The Blot is way behind on blogging due to my move last month, but I wanted to share with you some photos from my recent trip to the west coast. Aly and I traveled to Los Angeles over the 4th of July holiday weekend, and in between sightseeing and visiting family we took a little detour to the Museum of Contemporary Art to and its "Art in the Streets" exhibit, the first major U.S. museum exhibition of the history of graffiti and street art. The exhibition traces the development of graffiti and street art from the 1970s to the global movement it has become today, concentrating on key cities where a unique visual language or attitude has evolved. "The Art in the Streets" exhibit showcased installations by 50 of the most dynamic artists from the graffiti and street art community, including Fab 5 Freddy (New York), Lee Quiñones (New York), Futura (New York), Margaret Kilgallen (San Francisco), Swoon (New York), Shepard Fairey (Los Angeles), Os Gemeos (São Paulo), and JR (Paris).

I am so glad we were able to visit the MOCA while we were in Cali and see this incredible art show. Being able to see artwork and photographs from the 70s and 80s documenting the early years of the graffiti art scene in person was seriously mind blowing. Growing up in the deep south, I couldn’t get over the sketchbooks of graffiti legends I had previously only read about in magazines and the internet. While the exhibit closed yesterday, it now heads out east to the Brooklyn Museum, where it will be on view March 30–July 8, 2012. Catch it if you can!

Pharaoh Hound Resin Figure Prototype by Argonaut Resins

The Blot’s been dying to drop a post on Argonaut Resins' newest figure ever since I first saw some teaser images of this prototype late last week. The Pharaoh Hound 8 inch resin figure is the perfect counterpart to END’s Tuttz cat resin figure, and will come in a bunch of different colorways debuting very, very soon! Like the Tuttz before him, the Pharaoh Hound will released be in a variety of different styles, including metallics, tints, fades, pearls and a million other beautiful color combinations.

The Blot’s lucky enough to own a few Tuttz myself, and let me just tell you these are expertly made. The hound takes the Tuttz body to the next level with an all new sculpt and some killer ears! I can’t wait to see one of these bad boys in person!
