The Wolverine Ninja Teaser Movie Poster

Wolverine surrounded by ninjas may make for a pretty striking image in a comic book, but as a teaser movie poster it’s kinda weak. The Blot’s been pretty impressed by all of The Wolverine movie posters released so far, but this one looks just a little too photoshopped for my taste. I don't know about you, but I could watch Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for years.  Hopefully FOX turns it around with some better posters soon!

DC Universe Mini Mez-Itz Blind Box Series 1 by Mezco Toyz

Mezco Toyz’ ever expanding line of DC Comics vinyl figures continues with the exciting release of an all new DC Universe Mini Mez-Itz Blind Box Series! The Blot would be a lot more excited about this release if a) it didn’t prominently feature DC New 52 character designs, and b) Funko hadn’t just released an almost identical series a few weeks ago. Each DC Comics Mini Mez-Itz Series will contain six heroes and villains from the DC Universe with 10 unique designs, some of which will be extremely rare chase figures.

DC Universe Mini Mez-Itz Blind Box Series 1 includes Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Harley Quinn. Each 2” vinyl figure comes individually blind boxed, with 24 boxes per case. Mezco has said that with the purchase of a master carton of DC Universe Mini Mez-Itz Blind Box Series 1 (that’s 3 cases) collectors will be able to complete their set, including the mystery chase figure. Although, that means you’ve got to buy 72 blind boxes to complete just a 10 figure set. Yes it’s cool to know you can complete a set, but that seems a little ridiculous.

The DC Universe Mini Mez-Itz Blind Box Series 1 by Mezco Toyz is not scheduled to ship until September 2013, but you can pre-order a case of figures here for $104.99 or a 2-pack for $9.99 here from Entertainment Earth.

The Walking Dead Minimates Series 4

Diamond Select Toys continues its hugely popular line of The Walking Dead Minimates with its second wave of characters from Robert Kirkman’s critically acclaimed prison storyline. You may not know how TWD’s prison storyline will end, but you’ll definitely want to get your hands on these awesome action figures! Series 4 reunites the evil Governor and his lieutenants with some of the people who hated them the most.

The Walking Dead Minimates Series 4 includes 2-packs featuring The Governor with his lieutenant Gabe, Michonne with The Governor’s accomplice Bruce, Rick’s wife Lori (with baby Judith) comes with a partially flayed Shoulder Zombie, and a variant of that set will replace Lori with the prison doctor and Woodbury defector, Alice.

The Walking Dead Series 4 sets will be available at comic shops and specialty stores this summer, but you can preorder a complete set of all eight 2” figures from Entertainment Earth for $29.99 here.

Star Trek Into Darkness Character Movie Poster Set

As you now, The Blot loves everything J.J. Abrams directs, lens flairs and all! Throw in a story by Damon Lindelof, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman and Star Trek Into Darkness is destined to be one of my favorite movies of 2013. Abrams’ original Star Trek film was pretty much perfect, so it’ll be interesting to see if the extremely long hiatus between installments in Paramount’s signature franchise will hurt Into Darkness.

Thankfully the entire crew of the USS Enterprise will be returning for Star Trek Into Darkness, including Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, and newcomer Benedict Cumberbatch as…well, we’re not sure yet. He’s definitely the film’s villain but exactly which old school Star Trek character he’ll be is anyone’s guess.

These Star Trek Into Darkness character movie posters are fantastic! I love how the marketing team used color to tie the posters together as a set, and the blurred special effects do an amazing job evoking action. They’re pretty much perfect sci-fi one sheet movie posters!

Star Trek Into Darkness is set to boldly go into theaters on May 17, 2013.

Superman: Man of Steel Official Trailer #3

The Blot’s got no idea of Zach Snyder’s Man of Steel is going to be a good movie or not, but this trailer is so freaking awesome on a number of different levels. Pretty much all of my issues with the film’s first two trailers have been resolved and the story actually seems interesting now. Even Henry Cavill looks like DC Comics' Superman, although I still hate his hair.

“Peace & Justice Woman” Screen Print by Shepard Fairey

This week Obey Giant and Shepard Fairey will be releasing a pretty cool new print entitled “Peace and Justice Woman.” The Blot loves this print because it combines so many killer elements of Fairey’s work: ornamental design, a portrait and social action. I’m not sure it’s one I’d want hanging on my wall, but I do love the message behind this Obey Giant screen print.

Cat With Decapitated Lion's Head Screen Print by Deth P. Sun

Berkeley, California artist Deth P. Sun was invited to participate in a new print show “Galaxy” at Telegraph Gallery in Charlottesville, Virginia. Deth’s piece is entitled “Cat With Decapitated Lion's Head” and features, well, a cat with a decapitated lion’s head! I know, I know, the title was pretty self explanatory before I tried to explain the image, but either way this is a fun little piece that does a great job showing off Deth’s unique art style.
