This DCon 2021 Exclusive Groucho Ahwroo figures pay homage to some of Baseman’s original inspirations, the Marx Brothers. For this release, Ahwroo has been recreated to look just like Groucho Marx, including signature glasses, cigar and bushy eyebrows. As Gary explained, “Groucho in particular is perfect for Ahwroo. Yesterday, APPortfolio released Gary Baseman’s Ahwroo on the world! Ahwroo, Baseman’s vicious creature, is so hungry for affection, he can draw blood and kill the object of his affection. And he wants YOU! So everyone better watch out! This gorgeous hand painted polystone statue is limited to just 300 hand numbered pieces and measures 21cm x 29cm x 16.5cm.

Ahwroo is based on one of the characters from Gary’s series of paintings that debuted in his Milan exhibition VICIOUS in 2012. VICIOUS’s theme was about having a hunger and passion so great, that one could lose control and kill the object of their affection. It retailed for $340 exclusively at the APPortfolio online store. Sadly for most of us Baseman fans, this awesome sculpture sold out almost immediately upon release.
