Threadless - Donkey Kong Themed T-Shirt “Arcade Expressionism”
The Blot has to admit, I totally glossed over Threadless’ Donkey Kong themed t-shirt “Arcade Expressionism” when it first came two weeks ago. I don’t know what was the matter with me, because this video game inspired t-shirt rocks! It’s such a simple idea, and yet I’m totally blown away by the way artist Brock Davis pulls it off. How has no one ever thought of this idea before!?! It’s pure genius! Now we just need a new Super Mario Bros. Wii game in this style.

As you all know, The Blot is a sucker for retro video game t-shirts, so this abstract interpretation of the Nintendo classic Donkey Kong is a must get! You can purchase “Arcade Expressionism” at Threadless.com for $18. The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.

Threadless - “This Game Sucks” New Video Game Inspired T-Shirt
The Blot’s a sucker for video game themed t-shirts, and “This Game Sucks” from Threadless.com is a “must get” if for no other reason than the sheer number of classic arcade game characters incorporated in the design. From old school legends like Pac-Man, Q-Bert, Frogger and Dig Dug to Nintendo mainstays like Mario, Link, Mega Man and Donkey Kong, how could you not like this shirt!?! It even throws in some 90’s era icons like Street Fighter’s Blanka and Sonic the Hedgehog!

Normally, I would have already purchased this geek-tastic shirt, but there’s one thing holding me back: the tee’s dreadful color. I can’t stand the creme colored shirt Threadless chose for this design. Here’s hoping “This Game Sucks” sells out quickly so Threadless can reprint it on a color tee I don’t mind wearing.
You can purchase the “This Game Sucks” t-shirt at Threadless.com on sale for just $12 (normally it’s $18). The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-3XL.

Jenga: Donkey Kong Collector’s Edition
The Blot loves old school video games and so I’ve been meaning to blog about this awesome video game themed board game from USAopoly for a while now. Jenga: Donkey Kong Collector’s Edition perfectly combines two classic 80’s games, the characters of Nintendo’s arcade game Donkey Kong with the game play of Hasbro’s Jenga. Is it me or does Mario have his own version of pretty much every single game, board or video, ever created!?!? Nintendo is definitely not shy about including their signature character into any property they can think of.

What’s great about this Donkey Kong themed Jenga is that USAopoly actually made changes to how you play the stacking game in order to incorporate more of DK’s original game play. According to the rules, “you’ll carefully build and balance the tower as your Mario climbs his way to the top. Spin the spinner and make your move. The Mario that reaches the top and saves Pauline from Donkey Kong or is closest to the top when the tower falls wins the game!” (link)

It sounds like a pretty fun game, and The Blot will probably be picking one up the next time I see one at the mall. Donkey Kong Jenga can accommodate 1-4 players and is for ages 6 and up. Each game includes 54 Donkey Kong Girders (wooden blocks), 4 custom Mario game pieces, 1 custom Donkey Kong and Pauline game piece and a custom spinner. You can currently purchase Jenga: Donkey Kong Collector’s Edition at Urban Outfitters nationwide, 80sTees.com and Amazon.com.
