What The Blot loves about The Art of Coop T-Shirt Collection is how it features artwork spanning Coop’s entire career. There’s seriously a little something for every Coop fan out there, from his Rat Fink inspired hot rod designs to his more adult/risqué Bettie Page pin-up style devil girls. Designer toy collectors should especially dig Coop’s Lil Mort t-shirt, as the character was produced as a vinyl figure by Munky King back in 2009.

As you may remember, last year Mighty Jaxx collaborated with Threadless to launch a design challenge entitled “Characters” (original post here). The winning design would not only be sold on a Threadless t-shirt, but Mighty Jaxx would produce the character design and sell it as a limited edition vinyl toy. If you were a child of the ‘90s, chances are you were fans of the teenagers turned superheroes, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! The MMPR have had a huge resurgence in popularity these past few years and there’s already a big screen reboot of the franchise in the works. Peanuts T-Shirt Collection & Design Challenge by Threadless

Threadless has teamed up with Peanuts Worldwide to launch a new design challenge asking artists from around the world to create original artwork inspired by the classic Peanuts comic strip (click here to find out more). What’s really cool about this design challenge is that along with it Threadless has released a new collection of five officially licensed t-shirts featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang! The challenge will be open for three months, and the winning designs from the competition will be printed on t-shirts and sold on Threadless. The winning artists each receiving $5,000 and a Peanuts prize pack. The Blot can’t wait to see what Threadless’ talented community of artists come up with for this challenge! I’m just hoping for at least one really cool Pigpen design.

While The Blot definitely doesn’t spotlight Threadless designs as often as I used to here on The Blot Says, its community of designers still come up with some of the best pop culture mash-ups in the industry! How can you not love a mash-up of Game of Thrones and Garbage Pail Kids!?! Poor Ned Stark, he never stood a chance did he? But now we can all memorialize him with this killer “Dead Ned” t-shirt.

Well this is definitely a different look for Princess Toadstool (aka Peach)! The Blot is such a sucker for a good mash-up t-shirt design, and I like how the artist utilized the iconic look of an old school Playboy cover to reimagine the Super Mario Bros. universe in this new t-shirt from Threadless. Giving these Mario Bros. a realistic look within the confines of a magazine cover is a unique take on your usual Nintendo inspired tee (even if it is kinda misogynistic). Most of all, I really like the title of this t-shirt, “Super Playboys”!

Threadless x Mighty Jaxx Vinyl Toy & T-Shirt Contest

It’s not often that a movie released way back in 1998 gets its own challenge on the community driven t-shirt company’s website. This just goes to show you how ingrained The Big Lebowski is to popular culture even today!

There’s a beautiful Dr. Teeth and the Electic Mayhem t-shirt, a Beaker tee, and a Sam the Eagle design. It’s about time good old Uncle Sam got a little love!

While not a tee The Blot would necessarily wear, I chuckled pretty hard when I saw this new Street Fighter inspired t-shirt design from Threadless. It features everyone’s favorite fire breathing Indian street fighter, Dhalsim! After debuting in Street Fighter 2, Dhalsim has always been one of The Blot’s favorite playable characters (right up there with Chun-Li and Blanka). I always loved his extendable limbs and fire breathing blasts. But as this t-shirt points out, it would make it pretty difficult to blow out candles on a birthday cake!
