Artist Rob Loukotka recently dropped this awesome “The Desk of Mr. Stark” screen print featuring the hypothetical desk of Marvel’s Iron Man! What’s amazing about this design is all the time Rob put into this fantastic image. By all counts, Loukotka spent over 50 hours adding fun little Easter eggs and details from Iron Man 1, 2 and 3. Stark’s Desk features items like the Mark 3 suit and faceplate, Tony’s original arc reactor from the cave, and so much more! Can you spot them all?

SDCC 13 Exclusive DC & Marvel Chara-Brick Vinyl Figures by Huckleberry - Batman, Iron Man, Deadpool & More!

Here’s a pretty cool new release from our friends at Huckleberry. Made exclusively for San Diego Comic-Con 2013 are the new, limited edition 7” Chara-Brick vinyl figures. Chara-Brick are essentially an enlarged vinyl version of Huckleberry’s sculpts from their Chara-Covers cell phone cases. These were specifically tooled and made for SDCC 2013 and will not be made or sold again (except for the Marvel Chara-Bricks which will also be sold at the D23 Expo). Who wouldn’t want to add a helmetless Armored Avenger to their growing Funko collection!?! Honestly, The Blot’s been expecting the release of a Tony Stark Pop! for a while, and Funko really hit a home run with this Iron Man 3 figure. Originally sold as a Toy Con 2013 exclusive by Big Boy’s Toy Store in the Philippines, rumor has it this limited edition variant will be sold as a San Diego Comic-Con 2013 exclusive by Funko! Marvel x Medicom Iron Man 3 Be@rbricks

Medicon has teamed up with Marvel Comics to produce a new line of Be@rbricks based on the hit summer blockbuster Iron Man 3! Each sold individually, Medicom has produced 100%, 400% and 1,000% Be@rbrick versions of Tony Stark’s Iron Man Mark XLII armor (based on the actual armor from the film), 100% and 400% War Machine Be@rbricks, and 100% and 400% Iron Patriot Be@rbricks.

Unfortunately, most of these will be pretty hard to get your hands on if you’re a collector in North America. The 400% and 1,000% Iron Man Mark XLII Be@rbricks are Medicom Toy Exhibit 2013 Exclusives, while it appears the War Machine Be@rbricks are Japan exclusives (but I’m not positive on that one). The one Iron Man 3 Be@rbrick I have found available in the US is the Iron Patriot 400% Be@rbrick which is currently available for pre-order at Entertainment Earth for $124.99 here. Marvel's Iron Man 3 Final Movie Poster

So this poster’s been out for a while, but The Blot’s been holding it back until today to mark the official US premiere of Iron Man 3! The film’s final one sheet is actually pretty cool, although really it’s just a mash-up of about 5 previously released Iron Man 3 one sheets. I guess if you hadn’t seen those then this poster would be really cool. Regardless, I’m extremely pumped to see this film and am still holding out hope it’s not Robert Downey Jr.’s last adventure as the armored avenger. I just can’t imagine a Marvel Comics film without RDJ as Tony Stark. At this point he really is the lynchpin of the Avengers movie universe.

Iron Man 3 premieres in the US today, Friday, May 3rd, in theaters everywhere.

Iron Man 3 GID Screen Print by Phantom City Creative

In honor of Iron Man’s third live action film hitting theaters this weekend Mondo decided to release three prints starring Marvel’s armored avenger tomorrow. To round out Mondo’s Iron Man 3 releases is this pretty cool movie poster by Phantom City Creative. I say pretty cool because I love the idea behind it, but honestly The Blot’s seen this same design a million times before. In fact, Threadless just released practically the same image as an Iron Man t-shirt just last week. I don’t think PCC copied anyone, I just don’t find it all that creative or imaginative. At least this design is glow in the dark!

Iron Man 3 by Phantom City Creative is a 24”x36” GID limited edition screen print that is scheduled to go on sale at a random time this Friday, May 3rd, at the Mondo online store. The print has a run size of 250 pieces and will retail for $45 each.

Iron Man 3 Screen Print by Martin Ansin

This weekend Marvel’s armored avenger swoops into theaters once again for his third solo film! 10 years ago a comic book fan would have called you crazy if you insinuated that Iron Man would be one of the world’s biggest movie stars. And yet, here we are with Iron Man 3 already the world’s #1 film internationally. To commemorate the film’s release, Mondo will be releasing this pretty awesome Iron Man 3 screen print by Martin Ansin. Ansin has quickly become one of the biggest names in the world of movie screen prints and this poster is a perfect example why (although that’s a terrible rendition of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts if you ask The Blot).

Iron Man 3 by Martin Ansin is a 24”x36” limited edition screen print. The Standard Edition print has a run size of 450 pieces and retails for $50, while the Variant Edition has a run size of 200 pieces and will retail for $75 each. Both prints go on sale at a random time this Friday, May 3rd, at the Mondo online store.

New Iron Man 3 Movie Poster

It seems like there’s a new Iron Man 3 one sheet movie poster released every week now. That’s fine with The Blot because this newest poster is pretty bad ass! While I’m kinda over the battered Tony Stark in a falling apart Iron Man armor, this is still a really striking image. I love how the water looks dripping off his suit and all of the other Iron Man armors flying off in the background. Looks like a pretty cool fight scene don’t you think!?!

Iron Man 3 Character Movie Posters Part 2 - The Mandarin & Pepper Potts

Ok, now Marvel’s new series of Iron Man 3 character movie posters is really getting good. The one sheet movie poster above features Ben Kingsley as the film’s primary villain The Mandarin! I believe this is our first full body shot of The Mandarin in costume, and while not 100% true to the character’s look in the comic books he does look pretty cool. Let’s be honest, The Mandarin was always going to be a hard character to include in a live action movie. Plain and simple, he is a terrible embodiment of a number of Asian stereotypes. And while Kingsley is an incredibly gifted and well respected actor, no one in their right might saw him being cast in this roll. Is it me or is The Mandarin in this poster giving off a very Bane in The Dark Knight Rises vibe?

The second new Iron Man 3 character movie poster features Gwyneth Paltrow as Iron Man’s main squeeze Pepper Potts. I really hope Gwyneth continues to play a significant role in the Iron Man franchise because she’s done a great job with the character, especially considering how little screen time they give her. Of course, if this poster is to be believed Pepper’s going to primarily worrying and mourning poor old Tony Stark in this film.

Iron Man 3 Character Movie Posters Part I - War Machine & Aldrich Killian

The promotion of Iron Man 3 is just getting started, but what The Blot’s seen so far looks pretty amazing! In my opinion, it’s going to be really hard for any movie to beat out IM3 in the box office come summer 2013 (sorry Supes). Marvel released its first two Iron Man 3 one sheet character movie posters recently, and sadly they’re pretty ho-hum. Just your standard photos of characters looking…well, looking off into the sunset. First up is Don Cheadle as James Rhodes in his new Iron Patriot/War Machine armor. Here’s hoping there’s actually a distinction between Iron Patriot and War Machine, but at this point I’m thinking they’re going to be one and the same.

The second new Iron Man 3 character movie poster features Guy Pearce as the one of the film’s primary villains Aldrich Killian. In Warren Ellis' 2005 Iron Man story "Extremis" Killian was a scientist who developed the dangerous Extremis virus. Possible plot point!?! We shall see!

Mavel's Iron Man 3 Micro Mighty Muggs Blind Box Series by Hasbro

Even though The Blot’s known about this Iron Man 3 Micro Muggs Blind Box Series for a while, we finally got a look at the entire series thanks to Hasbro’s booth at Toy Fair 2013 last week. I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that Hasbro’s full size Mighty Muggs line is probably gone for good, but I still can’t get into these 1.75” Micro Muggs. I get why Hasbro would want to shrink their popular platform figure to compete in the rising collectible micro figure market, but it’s just not the same! Then again I think these micro figures are probably looking to bring in younger collectors.

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 Micro Muggs Series is based on 2013's eagerly anticipated summer blockbuster and comes individually blind-boxed for $2.99 each. There are 24 unique armors across two waves to collect! While I’ve heard Wave 1 of this series is currently hitting store shelves everywhere, you can pick up an entire Iron Man 3 Micro Muggs Series 1 case, which includes 36 blind boxes of the first 12 designs, from Entertainment Earth for $109.99 here. New Iron Man 3 Teaser Movie Poster & Super Bowl Ad

Iron Man 3’s big Super Bowl extended trailer (see below) looked awesome, but it really didn’t shed much light on what caused the Armored Avengers’ fall from grace in this killer new one sheet movie poster. Something hit Tony Stark hard and it doesn’t look good for our titular hero. The Blot just wants to know when we’re finally going to get some images of the film’s rumored bad guys! And how is this film going to tie directly into Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy!?! Bring it Marvel Movie Universe!

Marvel’s Iron Man 3 Wacky Wobbler Bobble Heads by Funko

It’s really amazing how The Avengers have taken over the pop culture landscape, and that movement began with Robert Downey Jr.’s original Iron Man film. So of course everyone is dying to see what the third installment of Marvel’s signature franchise is going to be like with a new director. Personally, The Blot thinks as long as the film retails its core cast these Iron Man films are going to continue to be huge! In conjunction with the movie’s release comes this pretty cool line of Iron Man 3 Wacky Wobbler Bobble Heads by Funko, which includes Iron Man, James "Rhodey" Rhodes in the War Machine armor, and the mysterious (and possibly villainous) Iron Patriot. All three look pretty sick right!?!?

There’s nothing that gets The Blot super excited about a big summer blockbuster movie than the release of some really cool tie-in toys (ok, a killer trailer helps too)! I’d heard for a while that Funko had some big things lined up for this summer’s superhero films, and they definitely delivered with this wave of Iron Man 3 Pop! Marvel vinyl figures. For the longest time I’ve read reports that the Iron Patriot suit was going to be the new War Machine armor in Iron Man 3, but seeing both “characters” included in this release makes me feel like Rhodey won’t be wearing the Iron Patriot armor after all.

Iron Man Mark VII 1000% Be@rbrick by Medicom

To coincide with the release of Iron Man 3 next May, Medicom is releasing an Iron Man Mark VII 1000% Be@rbrick! Yes, you read that right...1,000%! That means it’s a 27.5” Be@rbrick of Iron Man featuring his Mark VII armor from the hit motion picture Marvel’s The Avengers. I may be wrong, but this is the first super hero 1000% Be@brick I can remember Medicom ever producing. Maybe there was a Batman or Spider-Man released at some point, but nevertheless it’s pretty damn rare. This just goes to show how far Iron Man has come has a character since Marvel went on their tear of live action summer blockbusters.

The Marvel x Medicom Iron Man Mark VII 1000% Be@rbrick is scheduled to hit store shelves sometime in April 2013 and will retail for around $350 each.
