ESC Toy Takes over NYCC 2012!

When Erick Scarecrow said he had some really exciting things in store for New York Comic-Con 2012 he wasn’t kidding! ESC Toy has 13 NYCC 2012 exclusive vinyl and resin figures and 8 NYCC 2012 exclusive pins being released throughout the weekend, making ESC Toys’ NYCC booth #3015 the place to be! Kissaki has always been The Blot’s favorite ESC Toy figure, and Erick’s got two beautiful hand painted releases: “Purple Lust” and “Cold As Ice” (both limited to just 6 pieces). I’m also digging 2 Tails, which is a hand painted 7” resin figure limited to just 11 pieces. 

ESC Toy also has two Designer Toy Awards exclusives, a Wet-Suit Maria Warhol vinyl figure ($40) and a Tiffani Gold figure that will be included in a DTA Lucky Bag! I seriously can’t get over all of the different releases. Whether you’re a Frombie fan or an Uncharted Drake collector, there’s really something for everyone. ESC x Monster Kolor Summer Dream Kissaki Vinyl Figure

Kissaki, The Blot’s favorite ESC Toy figure, is finally back in a brand new colorway! This beautiful Summer Dream Kissaki by Erick Scarecrow features a really fun and vibrant color scheme of two shades of blue, yellow and pink Monster Kolor paints. As Erick explained on his blog, “I wanted to do another Kissaki for a long time ESPECIALLY AFTER I SAW THE BOOTLEGS! So this was a long time coming and I'm very happy it's here.”

Summer Dream Kissaki has a limited edition run size of 9 pieces, and each figure includes a very special limited edition giclee print. Pick one up today, Friday, March 23rd, at the ESC online store at 11am EST.

Kissaki Wicked Colorway by Erick Scarecrow

You may remember how excited I was last summer about Erick Scarecrow’s SDCC exclusive Kissaki Sandstorm colorway. Well, the founder of ESC Toy has done it again with an all new, limited edition colorway of his "point of the blade" figure.


Just in time for Halloween comes the Kissaki Wicked colorway, paying tribute to everyone’s favorite Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba. I’m not sure if this really is a tribute to the Wizard of Oz or the book/musical Wicked, but either way I love the idea and the new color scheme for Scarecrow’s designer vinyl figure Kissaki.


The moment I first saw the Kissaki vinyl figure, the New York Comic-Con exclusive Avenger colorway, I knew I had to own one. And with each subsequent colorway I’ve grown fonder of the platform, catapulting Kissaki to one of my all time favorite vinyl pieces. The Kissaki Wicked colorway is limited to just 288 pieces and retails for $69.99.

Erick Scarecrow - Kissaki SDCC Sandstorm Exclusive

While I’ve never really collected any of Erick Scarecrow’s work, I’ve really enjoyed the last few pieces to come from his company ESC Toy, including his designer vinyl figures Liberty, Soopa Coin-Up Bros. and Dizign from his new Old Skool Kajiu series. But my favorite figure of his, hands down, is his latest release Kissaki (Point of the Blade) vinyl figure. While Kissaki debuted at the 2008 New York Comic-Con with an exclusive Avenger colorway, it is the San Diego Comic-Con 2008 Sandstorm Edition that blew me away. There is just something about this blue on brown Kissaki colorway that I find stunning and the little details blow me away.

Erick will also be making his first appearance ever at San Diego Comic-Con doing an exclusive signing at the Toy Tokyo booth Friday, July 25th, and Saturday, July 26th, from 10am-1pm.
