Marvel’s Luke Cage Netflix Series Season 2 Television Poster & 1st Full Trailer!

Netflix has released an official one sheet television poster for their next Marvel TV series, Luke Cage Season 2! They’ve also posted their first full trailer for Luke Cage S2, and The Blot loves what he has seen so far. It’s great to see Simone Missick’s Misty Knight back, as well Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple. She really is the glue to Netflix’ little corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All in all, The Blot is a huge fan of Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and I can’t wait for this new series of episodes to drop.

Luke Cage Season 2 Synopsis: After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. The Blot’s been on a bit of a blogging hiatus the past two weeks due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey on Houston (I’ll write more about that later this week), but I thought I’d come out of hibernation to share my love for this epic new officially licensed Marvel Comics screen print by Dave Perillo and Grey Matter Art! Marvel's The Defenders Television Series Teaser Posters

Netflix’s newest live action Marvel series, The Defenders, is here and it’s going to be HUGE! That’s because The Defenders is the series we’ve all been waiting for – a team featuring the entire Netflix Marvel Universe. This team of super heroes has it all, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist! Might Elodie Yung’s Elektra even make an appearance!?! All that’s missing is The Punisher. As much as The Blot’s excited to see The Defenders, I’m equally excited to see what comes out of this series as the show has been coined the end of phase 1 of Netflix’s Marvel Television Universe.

SDCC 2017 Exclusive Marvel's The Defenders Season 1 Teaser Poster

On August 18, 2017, Marvel will be releasing its fifth television series on Netflix, The Defenders! This exciting new show will feature Netflix’s entire Marvel Television Universe teaming-up to fight crime in New York City, including Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock, Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist. At San Diego Comic-Con 2017 next week, Marvel will be giving away this pretty cool SDCC exclusive The Defenders Season 1 teaser poster by Marvel’s TV Creative Director Joshua James Shaw. The Defenders & Marvel’s Netflix Universe Headline Houston’s Comicpalooza 2017!

This weekend Texas’ preeminent comic-con, Comicpalooza, will be taking over the city of Houston! Along with an awesome (and varied) guest list of celebrity actors and comic book creators, Comicpalooza has put together an insane line-up of guests from Marvel’s Netflix Television Universe! This includes three of the four members of The Defenders: Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist). Also appearing at the show is Jon Bernthal (aka The Punisher), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) and Geoffrey Cantor (Mitchell Ellison). How insane is that!?!

But that’s not all… Comicpalooza is also featuring two key members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: The Avengers’ Anthony Mackie (Falcon) and from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s Pom Klementieff (Mantis)! Marvel fans will definitely not want to miss out on this insane pop culture extravaganza taking place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. The minute The Blot saw Matthew Woodson's beautiful artwork for the Luke Cage, Daredevil and Jessica Jones vinyl soundtracks, I instantly hoped Mondo would also release it as a series of screen prints. I even made a plea to Woodson on Instagram! Thankfully Mondo had the same thought, and at a random time today, Wednesday, November 10th, they’ll be releasing this awesome poster set at the Mondo online store.  These striking posters will look seriously amazing as a set on somebody's wall, don't you think!?!

Marvel's Luke Cage Original Soundtrack 2xLP Vinyl Records by Matthew Woodson & Mondo

Yesterday at New York Comic Con 2016 Mondo unveiled their newest vinyl release, and it’s the soundtrack for Marvel’s Luke Cage television series with collectible artwork of the bulletproof hero by Matthew Woodson! Composers Adrian Younge (Something About April) and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (A Tribe Called Quest) have combined forces to produce one of the best scores of 2016 featuring an inspired, genre-bending blend of orchestral score and 90s hip-hop beats, filtered through the sonic lens of the works of Ennio Morricone.

It's no surprise that the score hovers in the same terrain of the Spaghetti Western soundtracks of Morricone - the narrative of Luke Cage plays out like a modern Western, only set in Harlem. Younge and Muhammad have meticulously crafted one of the most unique sonic landscapes in the history of television. "We sought to create a score that reflects the world of Luke Cage. We see this world as a place where classic cinema meets classic Hip Hop," said composers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

Marvel's Luke Cage Original Soundtrack 2xLP Vinyl Records features an original score by Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and cover artwork by Matthew Woodson. It is pressed on 180 gram “Power Man Yellow” colored vinyl. It goes on sale today, Friday (October 7th) at 12pm CST at the Mondo online store for $35.

Netflix has released a new one sheet television poster for their next Marvel TV series, Luke Cage! Mike Colter looks seriously perfect as Luke Cage, and this poster just oozes Marvel’s Hero for Hire. He does those of us in the bald brotherhood proud! It’s amazing how such a simple poster can hit upon so many iconic characteristics of Cage. I especially dig the smoking bullet holes in his golden t-shirt. Now if only it were bright yellow instead! And just released today, check out Netflix's first full trailer for Luke Cage! This show looks fantastic, don't you think!?!
