Of all the Marvel movies coming out this summer, Sony’s X-Men: First Class was the one The Blot was looking forward to the least. That all changed yesterday with the release of the film’s first teaser trailer! It is great in so many ways, but most of all it reminded me why I loved the X-Men movies so much. While Captain America and Thor are getting most of the hype because it’s the first time those two characters have been brought to life on the silver screen, it is the X-Men franchise that set the standard (along with the Batman franchise) of how to make a great comic book adaptation.
Truth be told, I’ve been pretty down X-Men: First Class, especially after seeing all those average still photos that leaked last month. But after seeing the trailer above my opinions have changed. It’s amazing what one good trailer can do to turn a film’s fortunes around. First Class went from being this summer’s forgotten Marvel film to the front of many fan’s "Must See" list. I’m not going to say it’ll be better than Thor or Captain America (ok just Thor, we all know Cap is going to suck), but I’m starting to think it’s got a shot!
X-Men: First Class is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 3, 2011. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, January Jones as Emma Frost, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw and Rose Byrne as Dr. Moira MacTaggert.

X-Men: First Class Teaser Movie Poster
Is every single comic book movie coming out this summer or what? I didn’t realize X-Men: First Class by Matthew Vaughn was also coming out this summer along with Green Lantern, Thor and Captain America. I don’t know how I feel about First Class, but I like Vaughn and he’s assembled quite the cast. The cast includes James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, January Jones as Emma Frost, Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw and Rose Byrne as Dr. Moira MacTaggert.
From what I’ve read the movie will also feature characters such as Havok, Mystique, Beast, Darwin and Banshee, but no Cyclops? That’s more than a little surprising. What I really want to know is how well will an X-Men movie be received without costumes or the actual X-Men most of mainstream America knows and loves? Here’s hoping there’s at least the formation of the first class of X-Men, like the title read.
I’ve got a feeling Sony will be putting all of its marketing power behind this film, so we should be getting some awesome posters, banners and trailers for X-Men: First Class. Until we know more, enjoy the first teaser one sheet movie poster for the film. X-Men: First Class is scheduled to premiere in theaters everywhere on June 3, 2011.

Kick-Ass Character Movie Posters Set 3
We’re less than two weeks away from the world premiere of Kick-Ass, and The Blot can’t wait! So far, the future looks bright for this lesser known comic book adaptation, as it continues to pile up positive reviews. If not for its R rating, Kick-Ass might have been Hollywood’s next great super hero franchise.

Base off of Kick-Ass’ final theatrical one sheet movie poster, comes the film’s third and final set of one sheet character movie posters. The film’s marketers seem to really be playing up this splatter effect in Kick-Ass’ promotional posters, and I think it does a great job tying the movie in to its comic book roots.

Kick-Ass, which debuts in theaters on April 16th, was directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist, Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit-Girl, and Nicolas Cage as Big Daddy.

Kick-Ass Character Movie Posters Set 2
Here is the second set of character one sheet movie posters for the upcoming live action adaptation of the Mark Millar/John Romita, Jr. comic book, Kick-Ass. The Blot’s loved all of the marketing for Kick-Ass so far, and I just hope the film can live up to the hype building around the movie’s promo posters and trailers. In Matthew Vaughn we trust!?!

The Blot has a feeling there will be more posters included in this set of Kick-Ass character movie posters, and if so I will be sure to update this post once they are released. You can see the original set of Kick-Ass character movie posters here.

Kick-Ass Character Movie Posters and Trailer

These one sheet character movie posters look great, and I’m really digging the film’s first trailer that hit the internet a few days ago. I’d go into the comic book/movie’s plot, but I really don’t know much and I think the trailer about sums it up. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Kick-Ass the movie debuts in theaters on April 16, 2010, while you can purchase Kick-Ass the comic book, published by Marvel Comics under its Icon imprint, monthly at your local comic book shop.
