DC Universe Pop! Heroes Series 5 by Funko

The Blot cannot believe it’s been almost three whole years since Funko released a wave of DC Universe Pop! vinyl figures. Yes, we’ve gotten tons of DC Pop! based on video games, cartoons and movies, but I always prefer toys based on a character’s iconic look from the comic books. Not only does this awesome DC Universe Pop! Heroes Series 5 feature five characters making their Pop! debut, but Funko went with each hero and villain’s classic costume instead of their terrible New 52 redesign.

The DC Universe Pop! Heroes Series 5 includes Cyborg, Supergirl, Power Girl, Firestorm and the evil Black Manta. Each vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, has a rotating head and comes in a displayable window box. These 5 figures are not expected to hit store shelves until June 2016, but you can pre-order them now at Entertainment Earth for $9.99 each here.

DC Comics Mystery Minis Blind Box Series 2 by Funko

While Funko has released some awesome Mystery Mini Series over the past year, my favorite of the bunch is this DC Comics Mystery Mini Blind Box Series 2 and it doesn’t even come out until next year! The Blot is a huge DC Comics fan, and I love the huge variety of characters Funko included in this series. I’m also excited to see a few heroes and villains that haven’t even been given the Pop! treatment yet. The DC Comics Mystery Minis Series 2 includes 2.5” vinyl figures of heroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter and Power Girl, and villains Lex Luthor, Harley Quinn, Deathstroke, Black Manta and Reverse Flash. It also includes some awesome, super rare variants. It’s so great to see a DC Universe series that doesn’t just focus on the Bat-family of characters!

DC Comics Worlds’ Finest New 52 Action Figure 2 Pack - Power Girl & Huntress

While The Blot’s completely over DC Comics’ New 52 reboot, I’m impressed DC Collectibles continues to release waves of New 52 action figures based on current comic book series. I just want to know why it took DC Comics erasing 75 years of continuity to start doing it? For DC Collectibles newest wave of New 52 action figures they’ve turned their attention to one of DC’s only female led books, Worlds’ Finest! The book stars Power Girl and Huntress, two heroes stranded in the main DC Universe while separated from their friends and families on Earth 2. The Blot’s always been a huge Huntress fan, and how can you not love Power Girl!?! I’m just glad they didn’t go with PG’s terrible original New 52 costume from the series’ first few issues for this release.
