To celebrate Halloween last week, Super7 released three festive fall sofubi colorways designed by Super7’s Brian Flynn! Check out the Bat Brained Bat Boy, Happy Haunted Pumpkin Boy and Candy Cola Mummy Boy vinyl figures. These handmade and hand painted soft Japanese vinyl figures dropped exclusively on Halloween, October 31st, at Super7.com for $65 each and immediately sold out.

The 6” Candy Cola Mummy Boy Japanese Vinyl Figure is cast in clear Japanese soft vinyl with cola-colored tan and brown sprays. The 6” Bat Brained Bat Boy Japanese Vinyl Figure is cast in crystal clear Japanese soft vinyl and comes stuffed with black and glow in the dark bat-shaped mini figures. The 6" Happy Haunted Pumpkin Boy Japanese Vinyl Figure is cast in yellow Japanese soft vinyl with festive gold, red and orange sprays.

NYCC 2023 Exclusive Pumpkin Boy & Rose Vampire Vinyl Figures by Super7

The Blot was beyond exciting to learn that Super7 would be releasing new sofubi colorways at New York Comic Con 2023 last weekend! First up is the NYCC 2023 Spooky Spirit Pumpkin Boy, the Halloween inspired alter-ego of Super7’s Mummy Boy mascot who only comes out for very, very special occasions. Designed by Super7’s Brian Flynn, the 6” Spooky Spirit Pumpkin Boy is cast in translucent orange soft Japanese vinyl and is ready to celebrate the spookiest season. This beautiful new figure retails $60 exclusively at Super7.com.

The figure that really got The Blot excited is the NYCC 2023 Exclusive Autumn Blossom Rose Vampire! From deep beneath the soil an ancient friendly flower blooms once again. Designed by Super7’s Josh Herbolsheimer, the 4” Autumn Blossom Rose Vampire is cast in orange soft Japanese vinyl, and is accented with gold sprays and burning blue eyes to warm your heart from within.  This limited edition release retails for $45 exclusively at Super7.com.

The Super7 20th Anniversary Sofubi Collection

If you’ve been reading The Blot Says for a while, then you know I’m a diehard Super7 fan. S7 has always done an incredible job engaging with their collectors, taking feedback, and being as transparent as possible on the progress of different releases. And even though they don’t release as much sofubi as they used to, The Blot still likes to support all of the company’s many projects. So I was super excited when Super7 kicked off its 20th Anniversary celebration last week with an amazing new batch of soft Japanese vinyl figures of their most iconic original characters – Mummy Boy, Pumpkin Boy, Rose Vampire and Wing Kong!

Twenty years ago this year, no one was making what we wanted. In 2001, Super7 started as a magazine about vintage Japanese toys. We took our backgrounds in punk and skate fanzines, design and production, and eventually started making things ourselves. The Super7 20th Anniversary collection is a celebration and we want to thank all of the friends and fans we’ve made over the past 20 years! – Super7

Each figure in the Super7 20th Anniversary Sofubi Collection is cast in a unique one of a kind creamy orange and glow in the dark marbled vinyl pattern with soft yellow, red and metallic gold sprays. Handmade, hand-painted, and imported from Japan, these limited edition releases come poly-bagged with a custom header card. Mummy Boy and Pumpkin Boy are mascot size (6” tall) and retail for $85 each, while the Rose Vampire is Monster Family size (4”) and retails for $60. Wing Kong is a whopping 9” tall, also features black sprays, and retails for $125. Fans can pre-order all four figures now at Super7.com.

Super7’s NYCC 2019 Exclusive Soft Japanese Vinyl Figures

The Blot was thrilled to learn that not only will Super7 be attending New York Comic Con this year, but they’re bringing with them a ton of awesome sofubi exclusives! It’s been a long time since Super7 has released this many soft Japanese vinyl figures at one time, and they’re bringing back some long time favorites, which should make some old school S7 fans very happy. Blue Magic Pumpkin Boy Vinyl Figure by Super7

After a much too long hiatus, Super7’s Pumpkin Boy is back on the scene! The “Blue Magic” Pumpkin Boy vinyl figure is cast in blue and glow in the dark marbled soft Japanese vinyl with dark blue, red and silver sprays. This pumpkin edition of Super7’s loveable mascot is set to go on sale at noon PST Thursday, February 18th, at the Super7 online store for $50 each.

Skullbrain X Pumpkin Boy Vinyl Figure by Super7

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Super7’s Skullbrain message board, a few Skullbrain-grown artists have gotten together to create a series of special releases, which will be available exclusively to Skullbrain members! Releases will be once a month and will be sold via lottery. In order to be eligible for the lotteries, members must have at least 25 posts on the forum, so hopefully this will encourage some of you lurkers to come out of your shells and contribute to the toy discussions!

To kick things off, the first Skullbrain X release is by the company who pays the bills to keep the lights on at Skullbrain, Super7! Check out this beautiful Skullbrain X Pumpkin Boy, which stands 6.5” tall and is cast in marbled pink and glow in the dark soft Japanese vinyl with orange, silver and blue sprays. It may be summer in California, but it’s going to be feel like Halloween thanks to Super7’s Pumpkin Boy! Super7’s mascot size Pumpkin Boy has the body of a full sized Mummy Boy with a giant pumpkin for its head. The San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive “Green Ghost” Pumpkin Boy vinyl figure is cast in green and glow in the dark swirled soft Japanese vinyl with dark green, yellow and red sprays.

SDCC 14 Exclusive “Adventure Set” Mummy Boy Vinyl Figure with 3 Heads by Super7

The past few years Super7 has come to San Diego Comic-Con with a crazy amount of new exclusives and this year is no exception! What’s awesome about this year’s releases is the amount of beautiful swirled sofubi. Super7’s San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Exclusives

Every year The Blot is blown away by both the quality and the volume of San Diego Comic-Con exclusives Super7 releases. Thankfully this year is no different, with 14 different releases including two all new figures! SDCC 2012 marks the first release of both Brian Flynn’s Pocket Baseball Boy and Joshua Herbolsheimer’s Fossilla. Super7 is also releasing a killer Skeletor colorway of its popular Pumpkin Boy figure, a GID Taoking colorway and a Rose Vampire Casket Cruiser Chocolate Racer! New Year’s Eve Black & GID Marbled Pumpkin Boy by Super7

For the second year in a row, Super7 held a surprise release of an all new colorway of the company's mascot Mummy Boy on New Year’s Eve. Although this year there was a slight twist…instead of a Mummy Boy, it was a Pumpkin Boy (same body, different head). At the stroke of midnight (PST), Super7 released the unannounced new figure, a Pumpking Boy made from black and glow in the dark swirled vinyl with sprayed details. The Blot is a sucker for any figure made of marbled vinyl (i.e. two different colored vinyls swirled together) and what’s better than black with GID!?!

The NYE Black and Glow Swirled Pumpkin Boy figure retails for $50 each and is on sale now at the Super7 online store (while supplies last). However, this is a pre-sale and the actual figure won’t ship until February 2012.

Black Friday Blue SSSSwirl Pumpkin Boy by Super7

Every once in a while I hear about a figure and I just drool. This is what happened yesterday when I found out Super7 had released a special Black Friday Pumpkin Boy just for its SSSS (Super Seven Secret Society) members. It’s times like these when I wish I had rejoined! This beautiful dark and light blue marbled unpainted Pumpkin Boy looks incredible doesn’t it?

My sources say the Black Friday Blue SSSSwirl Pumpkin Boy went on sale Friday, November 25th, at the Super7 online store and sold out quickly thereafter. While we never had a sh\ot at this SSSS exclusive, hopefully this means more Pumpkin Boys are on the way!

Super7’s Trio of Terror - Pumpkin Boy, ZombieFighter & Rose Vampire DX

Something wicked this way comes! Super7's Halloween 2011 Trio of Terror is near, lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike in the darkness! After debuting the first member of its Trio of Terror at New York Comic-Con 2011 (the Rose Vamprie DX seen here), Super7 is set to release the final two members this Friday, October 21st! The ZombieFighter is a collaborative creature from Super7's Brian Flynn and Secret Base, while Super7's mascot Mummy Boy joins the Trio of Terror in a Halloween costume of his own: the Pumpkin Boy! Pumpkin Boy features a brand new head on a familiar friend.

ZombieFighter ($65) and Pumpkin Boy ($50) debut this Friday, October 21st, at 12noon Pacific at the Super7 online store.
