The Cast of Amazon’s The Tick Comes to Houston for Comicpalooza 2019!

Spoon! The Tick has returned to save the city with season 2 of the hit live action television series available now on Amazon Prime. Fans of the wacky comic book character can meet the show’s fantastic cast next month at Comicpalooza 2019! Texas’ preeminent pop culture convention will be hosting five cast members of The Tick: Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick), Griffin Newman (Arthur), Yara Martinez (Miss Lint), Brendan Hines (Superian) and Scott Speiser (Overkill).

Fans of The Tick can purchase a The Tick Speed Pass, which includes 3 Day Admission to Comicpalooza 2019, 30 minute early admittance to the Exhibit Hall, and priority line jump for all autographs, photo ops and panel sessions related to the cast of The Tick (autographs and photo ops must be purchased separately). You can also purchase a The Tick group photo opportunity with all five cast members!

Comicpalooza 2019 takes place May 10-12 at the George R Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. Weekend Passes and 1-Day Passes are currently available online at Comicpalooza.com.

The Tick Season 1.5 Teaser & Character Television Posters

How in the world did The Blot not know that Amazon had released the second half of The Tick Season 1 on their Amazon Prime streaming service!?! One of the biggest television surprises of 2017 for The Blot was how much I enjoyed this new take on Ben Edlund’s beloved comic book super hero. Now I know what I’ll be binging this week! To promote The Tick Season 1.5, Amazon has released three new one sheet posters for the series. This includes two traditional teaser posters for the newly released 6 episodes, and a much needed character poster for Jackie Earle Haley’s The Terror. I always thought it was strange The Terror was the only main character from the show to not receive his own poster.

The Tick official synopsis: In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with mental health issues and zero powers comes to suspect his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover the conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero. They launch into an adventure brimming with crazed archvillains, blood-soaked vigilantes, and superhuman freakery.

It’s hard to believe that later this week The Tick will return with an all new television series thanks to Amazon! The Blot can’t believe it’s been 16 years since the first live action The Tick television show aired on FOX, and even longer since The Tick cartoon aired on the same network. But this Friday, August 25th, Ben Edlund’s beloved comic book super hero returns to TV exclusively on Amazon Prime.

SDCC 14 Exclusive The Ticket & Mr. Gone Action Figures by GBJR Toys

GBJR Toys will be at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 and they’ve teamed up with TOYNK, Troma and Hollywood Posters to bring you 4 really cool exclusives! First up is “Spoon!” Variant The Ticket action figure, which includes a limited edition silver spoon accessory and matching “Spoon!” t-shirt. These are limited to just 100 pieces and will retail for around $40 at the GBJR Toys SDCC booth #5611. They will also have Troma Film’s Sgt. Kabukiman handmade plushes for around $35.

At the TOYNK SDCC booth #3551 you can purchase a “Battle Damaged” Mr. Gone action figure from the hit comic book series The Maxx! Last but not least, the Troma SDCC booth #4017 will be selling adorable Toxie handmade plushes, which are limited to just 50 pieces. The “Spoon!” Variant The Ticket action figure and Sgt. Kabukiman plush are both currently available for pre-order by those of us not attending SDCC in extremely limited quantities at the GBJR Toys online store.

Astro-Zombies Exclusive Clear Blue Tick Action Figure by Shocker Toys

So apparently there is an uber-rare fourth The Tick Indie Spotlight action figure from Shocker Toys that not many fans know about. It is a clear blue version of The Tick, which can be purchased exclusively from the Albuquerque comic books store Astro-Zombies. I’m not sure if there is any type of significance to this clear blue colorway, but the transparent Tick action figure does look pretty cool.

Idle Hands Exclusive The Mucus Tick Action Figure by Shocker Toys

In addition to Shocker Toys’ four Indie Spotlight summer convention exclusives comes the Idle Hands Exclusive The Mucus Tick action figure seen below. The Blot can’t like, when I heard Idle Hands was getting its own exclusive Indie Spotlight action figure I got a little jealous! How cool is that?!? One day my friends, one day!


For those of you unfamiliar with the Mucus Tick, when comic book and cartoon hero The Tick fights an "Uncommon Cold," he finds himself facing off against an evil version of himself…his own sickly mucus given life by an evil alien! Essentially, it's The Tick…but itSnot.

The Mucus Tick is a translucent green version of Shocker Toys’ Indie Spotlight Series 2 The Tick action figure with brand new card art. This Idle Hands exclusive action figure is limited to 1,000 pieces, retails for $22 each, and goes on sale today, Friday, May 28th, at 10am at the Shocker Toys online store.

SDCC 2010 Exclusive Barry Hubris (from The Tick) Action Figure by Shocker Toys

Another one of Shocker Toys’ four convention exclusive Indie Spotlight action figures is the Barry Hubris (from The Tick) action figure. Barry Hubris is a wannabe superhero who fought crime as the Tick, but not THE Tick. Once Barry realizes he is actually the 2nd Tick, he turns to a life of crime hell-bent on destroying the Tick we all know and love.


The Barry Hubris (The Tick) action figure is technically a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive (meaning it can only be purchased SDCC 2010), but you can actually pre-order it at the Shocker Toys online store. Attendees of SDCC ’10 can pay $23 to pick it up at a Comic-Con or non-attendees can pay $30 to have it shipped to them directly.
