The War of the Worlds Prints by Nicolas Delort x Black Dragon Press

This weekend at Thought Bubble 2016, Black Dragon Press will be releasing a beautiful new poster for The War of the Worlds by Nicolas Delort! Based on the H. G. Wells sci-fi classic, The War of the Worlds screen print features many of the classic elements collectors have come to expect from Delort’s iconic style: billowing clouds, spectacular lightning, huge looming entities and that beautifully menacing atmosphere. The War of the Worlds by Nicolas Delort will be available in two editions, an 18”x24” screen print and a stunning 14”x18” laser-etched clayboard.

The hand numbered screen print is signed by the artist, features a gallery stamp on the back and is printed on 270gsm Mohawk Superfine White paper. It is limited to just 50 pieces and will retail for £60. The laser-etched clayboard comes numbered with a gallery stamp on the back and includes a laser-cut stand. It is limited to just 12 pieces and will retail for £250. Each etching purchased enters the buyer into a drawing to win a 5”x5” bespoke original etch from Nicolas. Any remaining pieces will go on sale at 7pm UK time on Wednesday, November 9th, at the Black Dragon Press online store.

The War of the Worlds Screen Print by Stan & Vince

For Mondo’s first release of 2015 they’ve teamed up with Paris based comic artists Stan and Vince to produce an awesome movie poster of the sci-fi classic, The War of the Worlds! Stan and Vince did a fantastic job recapturing the vintage feel of Byron Haskin's 1953 film adaptation. Stan and Vince explained their goal for this beautiful screen print: “We wanted to put viewers back in the theatre seats where they first saw the movie, in the frame with the hero as he watches the invaders coming into the city! We wanted this poster to feel the retro-style menace of the red planet.”

The War of the Worlds by Stan and Vince is a 24”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 300 pieces and will retail for $55, while the Glow in the Dark Variant featuring a bright green, glow-in-the-dark layer is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $85. Both prints go on sale at a random time today, Thursday, January 8th, at the Mondo online store.

Dark Hall Mansion’s first release in its new Seminal Film Series is this killer, officially licensed screen print for Paramount's 1953 Sci-Fi cornerstone, The War of the Worlds by Tom Whalen! The Blot’s a huge fan of Whalen’s work, but I especially love his use of color here. The pink and purple in his War of the Worlds variant is so freaking striking!

The War of the Worlds by Tom Whalen is a 24”x36” screen print. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 295 pieces and will retail for $65, while the Variant is limited to 100 pieces and will retail for $100. There is also a Foil Edition of both versions, each limited to just 10 pieces and retailing for $150 each.
