“Modular” OBEY Giant Art Print by ADD FUEL x Shepard Fairey

Check out this amazing print collab between OBEY Giant’s Shepard Fairey and ADD FUEL entitled “Modular”! The print commemorates ADD FUEL’s solo art show “Youth Eternal”, which opened last weekend at Fairey’s gallery, Subliminal Projects. As Shepard explained, “ADD FUEL’s art functions on several levels literally and metaphorically. His pieces master the aesthetics of traditional Portuguese tile work while adding his own playful character illustrations subversively woven into the designs. These two seemingly disparate styles are so elegantly blended together that discovering the oddity within the harmony is both bizarre and joyful.”

“The actual and faux rips ADD FUEL incorporates into his art are more than just a nod to paper, the common material of modern street art, they’re also a provocative bit of visual dissonance since tiles don’t rip. Despite the incongruity of tiles and rips, ADD FUEL’s visually seductive compositions evoke a sense of time passed and a story behind each layer.” – Shepard

“Modular” by ADD FUEL x Shepard Fairey is an 18”x24” numbered screen print on thick pure white paper signed by both artists.  Limited to 500 pieces, this new art print goes on sale at 10am PT on Thursday, November 17th, at Store.ObeyGiant.com for $115. Each print comes with a Digital Certificate of Authenticity provided by Verisart.

Moonage Daydream Screen Print by Shepard Fairey of OBEY Giant x Mondo

Mondo is celebrating the Digital/Blu-Ray release of Brett Morgan’s Moonage Daydream, an absolutely incredible David Bowie documentary, by releasing this fantastic new screen print by OBEY Giant’s Shepard Fairey! As Mondo explained, “It’s been over six years since we last collaborated with Shepard, and every time we do, it’s a career highlight for all of us.” Moonage Daydream by Shepard Fairey is an 18”x24” hand numbered 5 color timed edition screen print. It is available now through 11:59am CT on Friday, November 18th, at MondoShop.com for $60.

“David Bowie is one of my favorite musicians not only because so many of his songs possess magic, but also because he was creatively fearless and perpetually collaborative. Ziggy Stardust is one of my favorite albums ever. It makes sense that it was Bowie’s breakthrough album, not just because his newly adopted androgynous glam image was provocative and mesmerizing, but because the songs on the album are incredible! For this Moonage Daydream print image, I was able to reference outtakes from the Ziggy cover shoot, one of which I thought, with a few artistic liberties taken, could become a great portrait illustration. Bowie was incredibly photogenic, which yielded so many glorious images of him, and makes it a challenge to create a new visage that stands with the rest of his most iconic portraits. It is very meaningful for me to have the opportunity to craft my articulation of one of my favorite artists ever, from possibly the era of his peak creative genius.” – Shepard Fairey
