If you haven’t been picked up Mark Bode’s fantastic Da’ Lizard 11” vinyl figure yet, it’s not too late! While a few of the colorways are now sold out (Black, Gold and Rainbow), there are four colorways still available. Frankenturd Resin Figure by Mark Bode

The Blot is seriously in love with these resin prototype kits from Mark Bode and Michael Waltz! Along with Da’ Lizard and “Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard, Waltz has sculpted and produced this super detailed Frankenturd resin figure based on the artwork of Vaughn Bode. Each figure has 5 parts and stands just over 10” tall! The unpainted White resin kit is limited to 100 pieces and retails for $150 each, while the super limited Ghostly Glow Edition is limited to just 30 pieces, will glow for 12 hours and retails for $180. Mark Bodé just released this awesome new long sleeve t-shirt entitled “GOOMPH!”, which features two of the Bode family’s signature characters, Cheech Wizard and Da Lizard! Many of you may also recognize the model above…it’s the one and only DJ QBert! It’s kinda ridiculous how much of a mark The Blot is for Bodé’s (and his father Vaughn Bodé’s) artwork and characters. Thankfully Mark’s been bringing the heat lately with some awesome new apparel and toy releases.

SDCC 14 Exclusive Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure Green & Black Colorways by Mark Bode

The Blot’s been patiently waiting for the first release of Mark Bode’s new Da’ Lizard vinyl figure and it’s finally here! Two of the figure’s seven colorways will be dropping exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, and I can’t wait to hear what people think of this new figure once they’ve seen it in person. First up is the OG Green Cheech Lizard, which will be sold exclusively at the Toy Tokyo SDCC booth. Mark will also be having a signing on Saturday, July 26th, at the Toy Tokyo booth. Check with the Toy Tokyo crew for specific times.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Black Cheech Lizard is limited to just 200 pieces and will also drop on Saturday, July 26th, at the MINDstyle SDCC booth #4845 from 12-3pm when Mark will be on hand to sign this awesome figure. Produced by MINDstyle, both SDCC 2014 Exclusive Da’ Lizard vinyl figures stand 11” tall, feature three points of articulation and come packaged in a full color box.

First Look: Magenta & Brown Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure Colorways by Mark Bode

If, like The Blot, you’re anxiously awaiting the release of the new Da’ Lizard vinyl figure by Mark Bode here’s a little more info on the release to wet your whistle! Earlier this week Mark posted the photos above of the painted prototypes of his Magenta and Brown Lizard colorways on his Instagram page. They look fantastic, don’t you think!?!

We also now know each figure will stand 11” tall, come in four different colorways (Green, Magenta, Brown and White), and retail for just $80. Coming Soon: Da’ Lizard Vinyl Figure by Mark Bode

Last January The Blot got to see Mark Bode’s amazing Da’ Lizard resin figure in person at the legendary artist’s solo show “The Masked Lizard Rides Again” at Aerosol Warfare here in Houston, Texas. This 6-8” tall unpainted resin figure was limited to just 50 pieces, featured 3 points of articulation and looked seriously fantastic! Unfortunately, one of these figures didn’t go home with me that night. But I did learn some good news that evening, Bode was working on a vinyl release of his Da’ Lizard sculpt!

The Da’ Lizard vinyl figure is almost here and Bode unveiled his first painted prototype and the figure’s packaging artwork. What really stands out from the pictures Mark posted on his Instagram account is that Da’ Lizard is being made by MINDstyle! I didn’t even know they were still in business. There are four colroways in the works (OG Lizard Green, White, Magenta and Brown), and at least one of those will be released by Toy Tokyo. Can’t wait to snag one of these! More details as they become available…
