NYCC 2017 Exclusive Voodoo Queen Dead Bear Vinyl Figure by Nicky Davis x Martian Toys

This weekend at New York Comic Con 2017, Martian Toys will be releasing the third colorway of Nicky Davis’ awesome Dead Bear vinyl figure! The Voodoo Queen Dead Bear sports a killer purple and green color scheme and two character accessories. I love how perfectly Martian Toys has been able to transform Nicky’s awesome characters into 3D form! Collectors can purchase the Voodoo Queen at the Martian Toys NYCC booth #679.

Five Points Festival Debut Dead Bear Vinyl Figure by Nicky Davis x Martian Toys

This weekend at the first annual Five Points Festival comic con in New York City, Martian Toys will be pre-releasing a limited number of Nicky Davis’ awesome new vinyl figure, Dead Bear! The Blot’s been following the work for this Houston based artist for a number of years, and I was super pumped to learn Davis was teaming up with Martian Toys to release his very first production figure.

Not only that, but instead of traditional colorways Martian Toys will be releasing different artist editions of the Dead Bear. So along with the pre-release of the original Dead Bear colorway, Martian Toys will also be releasing a creepy cute colorway designed by Andrea Kang (also seen above). There will be six different Dead Bear editions in all, and each variant comes with a unique accessory.

Dead Bear Glacier Edition Resin Figure by Nicky Davis

Houston’s own Nicky Davis has been producing awesome art for years, including killer custom vinyl figures in his unique signature style. But Nicky only recently started designing, sculpting and producing his very own resin figures! To kick off his new line of handmade figures, Nicky has released the Glacier Edition Dead Bear. The Blot was lucky enough to see these new figures in person last week and they look fantastic! Davis did a great job transforming his signature Dead Bear character into a 3D art multiple. 

Limited to just 40 pieces, the Glacier Edition Dead Bear stands 7” tall and is cast in translucent blue resin. Collectors can purchase this icy blue figure now at Nicky Davis’ online store for $40.

Twisted Metal Custom Eyezons by Motorbot

Motorbot has teamed up with Max Toy Company to release a small run of custom “Twisted Metal” Eyezons. These figures look killer, and with only 5 available in this colorway, you know they’ll be gone fast. The Twisted Metal Custom Eyezons go on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, December 15th, at the Dead Bear online store for $150 each. Get one before it gets you!

Plaseebo x DeadBear Studios Steam Punk Edition Skulloctopus

Check out this crazy new collaboration between Plaseebo and DeadBear Studios. Each Steam Punk Edition Skulloctopus vinyl figure was hand painted by Motorbot and features swirl glass eyes and an internal color changing motion activated LED. This figure rocks, but with the motion activated LED I’m pretty sure Aly would never let me have one of these in the house. She’s somewhat of a scaredy cat and literally be screaming every time the color changing LED turned on unexpectedly.

The Plaseebo x DeadBear Studios Steam Punk Edition Skulloctopus vinyl figure has a limited edition run size of 10 pieces and will be released on Tuesday, November 16th, at Plaseebo's online store. Each figure will retail for $110.

Slimer Edition GID Lout Resin Figure by Motorbot

Artist, customizer and fellow Texan Motorbot has been developing a line of resin figures under his new label Dead Bear. Each and every figure is designed and sculpted in rotocast resin by Motorbot. The Slimer Edition Lout is Motorbot’s second official Dead Bear release. Not only is the Slimer Lout colorway based on everyone’s favorite ghost from Ghostbusters, but it glows in the dark! How cool is that?


Motorbot’s Slimer Edition GID Lout stands 5 inches tall, has a limited edition run size of 10 figures, and is available for preorder now at Dead Bear’s online store. Preorders will be taken from May 31, 2010 through June 4, 2010, with all orders mailed out the week of June 7th.
