DCon Exclusive Green Unpainted Lady Vengeance by Jay222

The third colorway of Jay222’s popular Lady Vengeance Sofubi figure is about to be unleashed on the world, and it’s not going to be pretty!!! Produced by Max Toy Co, this Designer Con 2012 Exclusive Lady Vengeance was cast in green soft Japanese vinyl and comes unpainted for all the purists out there. Only 15 of these deadly Lady Vengeance vinyl figures have been produced, and collectors can pick one up this Saturday at Dragatomi’s DCon #300 for $20 each.

Resin is King Blind Box Series 2

The Resin is King Series is back and better than ever! Tenacious Toys and Dead Hand Toys have teamed up once again to curate an incredible new “Resin is King” blind box series featuring 16 talented artists. For Resin is King Series 2, each artist was asked to develop a new sub-3" resin figure and submit 10 pieces to the series using that sculpt. That’s 160 figures in all!!! The Blot honestly never thought we’d see a resin series to this magnitude, and it just shows how far the medium has come.

Resin is King Series 2 includes works by Brian Ahlbeck (of Dead Hand Toys), Dave Bondi, Rich Page (of UME Toys), NEMO and OsirisOrion (of Bad Applez Inc.), Jay222, Motorbot, Matt A*, Argonaut Resins, Selina Briggs (of The Jelly Empire), Kilroy III, Kris Dulfer (of KiD iNK iNDUSTRiES), JC Rivera, Christopher Moore (of We Become Monsters), Vanessa Ramirez, Scott Kinnebrew (of Forces of Dorkness) and Tim Stephson.

This incredible resin series makes its debut at Kidrobot NY with a very special release party on Thursday, October 4th, from 6-8pm, where many of the artists involved will be on hand to sign and sketch. Each blind box will retail for $25, and collectors can also purchase a full case of Resin is King Series 2 blind boxes, which is guaranteed to contain 1 piece from each of the 16 artists, for $400 at the Tenacious Toys online store. But that’s not all! Be on the lookout for the series’ Golden Ticket, which can be redeemed for a one of a kind 8” Tuttz resin figure by Argonaut Resins!

Jay222 x Max Toy Co Painted Lady Vengeance Vinyl Figure

Tomorrow Max Toy Co will be releasing the first painted version of Jay222’s Lady Vengeance vinyl figure! Each Lady Vengeance comes hand painted by Jay222, and features dry brushed gold over a medium blue vinyl with red airbrush and white and red details. The Blot loves how the Jay222’s paint job really brings out all of the figures intricate and gory details!

This is the second Lady Vengeance colorway released, and if the Unpainted Blue LV is any indication you will definitely want to pick up one of these scary looking figures immediately upon release. That first Lady Vengeance sold out extremely quickly. Pick one up this Wednesday, September 26th, at the Max Toy Co online store.

Jay222 x Max Toy Co Unpainted Blue Lady Vengeance Vinyl Figure

For the second week in a row, Max Toy Co is releasing a brand new figure, this time from the super talented Jay222! Lady Vengeance is Jay222’s first production piece based on his original sculpt and it looks crazy scary, which is pretty appropriate since his customs always showcase his love of classic horror films and comics with a slash of twisted humor. Although Jay222’s style is not often associated with kaiju, Max (of Max Toy Co) explained on his blog that he was drawn to this project with Jay through their mutual love of horror movies. The Blot is super excited for this release because I feel like it does an amazing job pushing the boundaries of what a kaiju figure can be.

Lady Vengeance by Jay222 features 1 point of articulation (at the head) and stands approximately 3-4” tall. The first Lady Vengeance colorway to be released is this really nice unpainted blue in soft Japanese vinyl, and it goes on sale this Friday, August 3rd, at the Max Toy Co online store for $20 each. Resin is King Blind Box Series 1

When The Blot first heard about this series organized by Tenacious Toys and Brian Ahlbeck (aka Lysol), I got really excited. Resin definitely seems to be the future of designer art toys, and so it was only a matter of time until we got our very first resin blind box series! Resin is King Series 1 includes seven brand new 3” resin figures by seven talented artist: Motorbot, Jay222, Matt A*, Brian Ahlbeck (of Dead Hand Toys), Dave Bondi, Rich Page (of Ume Toys), and Bad Applez Inc (NEMO and OsirisOrion).

Just like the majority of resin figures out there, each piece is cast and painted by hand. Because of this, no two pieces will be identical. And remember the picture above only showcases one of the many colorways for each sculpt. Each Resin is King blind boxes will retail for $25, which includes one random figure, a ratio card and a sticker. There will also be one Golden Ticket randomly inserted into one of the 40 blind boxes in this series, which can be redeemed for a 7" Teuth resin figure by Brian Ahlbeck!
