Back in September Grey Matter Art released Marvel Comics’s iconic double gate-fold cover to X-Men #1 (1991) by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, and to say the response was positive is an understatement! The image depicts the ‘90s X-Men Blue and Gold Teams band together to square off with the mutant master of magnetism, Magneto, in one large epic sequence. In an effort to get this beautiful print to more people, GMA is revisiting this classic image with a new Foil Variant!

As GMA explained, the Foil Variant “not only helps accentuate the art in a new and gorgeous way but also makes this cover truly pop! DC FanDome kicks off this Saturday, August 22nd, and Expands to 2 Days!

Fans, your timeline awaits — at your own pace and on your own schedule. Choose your path wisely with the help of the official DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse program scheduler found at DCFanDome.com. It doesn’t have the 12th-level intellect of Brainiac, but it will certainly be a great guide to help you explore the Multiverse on September 12!

And it’s not just the adults who get to have all the fun, the adventure is also heating up for young DC Super Hero fans. Launching Saturday, September 12th, DC Kids FanDome will offer kids (and their parents) a break from the seemingly endless “at home” summer with a kid-friendly companion event to DC FanDome, accessed separately at DCKidsFanDome.com. Check out these insane San Diego Comic-Con 2019 Exclusive Marvel Legends Action Figure Posters by Hasbro! The toy maker has taken their popular line of X-Men Marvel Legends Action Figures and used them to recreate Jim Lee’s iconic cover to X-Men #1 from 1991. There will be four posters in all, which when combined recreate Jim Lee’s full cover artwork to one of the highest selling comic books of all time. While Hasbro will not be releasing a giant poster including all four images together, fans lucky enough to score all four free posters can combine their posters to showcase Professor Xavier and his X-Men battling the evil Magneto.

SDCC 2019 Exclusive Batman: Hush Screen Print by Jim Lee x Mondo x DC Comics

Mondo will be releasing a ton of epic San Diego Comic-Con 2019 exclusive screen prints next week, including this iconic Batman: Hush poster by legendary comic book artist Jim Lee! Hush is one of the all time great Batman stories, and it’s so cool to see Jim Lee’s comic book cover artwork transformed into an oversized screen print. DC Comics Blueline Edition Jim Lee Superman Action Figure

Following the release of the super popular San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Blueline Edition Jim Lee Batman Action Figure (seen here), DC Collectibles has decided to release this matching Blueline Superman action figure also based on the artwork of Jim Lee! While I love the idea of this new toy line, I can’t get over how much I hate Superman’s New 52 costume. It is also a little odd that they’re calling this a “Blueline” Edition since the figure actually appears to be black and white. To me this should be called a Pencil Edition instead.

The Blueline Edition Jim Lee Superman Action Figure stands 6.75” tall and features 11 points of articulation. Each figure comes packaged in a special 5 panel window box perfect for display and includes a matching printed Jim Lee sketch card. The Blot has a feeling this might just be one of the hottest San Diego Comic-Con exclusives of 2015! Amazing Comic Con Comes To Houston!

We’re just 3 weeks away from Amazing Comic Con, one of the biggest names in comic conventions, coming to Houston for their first ever Texas show!!! After launching “amazing” conventions in Arizona (Phoenix) and Las Vegas, Amazing Comic Con is poised to take over the Lone Star State on August 29th-31st. What’s awesome about Amazing Comic Con shows is how focused they are on the comic book industry and you would not believe the huge names they’re bringing to Houston this summer!

For the inaugural Amazing Houston Comic Con, they are hosting a venerable who’s who from the comic book industry. To kick things off, AHCC is bringing in two founders of Image Comics, superstar creators Jim Lee (who is also co-publisher of DC Comics) and Rob Liefeld! It’s like the ‘90s all over again with how these two creators are dominating the industry. You can't get bigger named comic book guests than this!

Also appearing at Amazing Houston Comic Con are the co-creators of Wolverine, and legends in their own right, Len Wein and Herb Trimpe, along with some of The Blot’s favorite creators Bob Layton and Houston’s very own Terry Moore. One of the creators The Blot’s super excited to meet is Tom Scioli! I love his retro ultra-modern style in Godland, and everyone’s going crazy for his new Transformers vs G.I. Joe series from IDW. New 52 Batman: Black and White by Jim Lee

The newest statue in DC Direct’s popular “Batman: Black and White” line is the New 52 Batman by legendary artist Jim Lee. What’s interesting about this release is that it marks the first statue to feature a character’s new redesigned look from DC Comics’ recent reboot. While fans are sure to go crazy over this statue because it’s by Lee, The Blot is extremely unimpressed. In fact, I’d say this statue makes me like Batman’s “New 52” reboot look even less. What’s up with all those unneeded lines on Batman’s chest? I’ve always heard it explained that Batman has a reason and a use for every detail of his costume, so what’s the rationale for this one? I guess if it rains he’s got built-in gutters!

The New 52 Batman: Black and White statue by Jim Lee measures 5.5" high x 6" wide x 5" deep, and matches the previous figures in this series with its moody, monochromatic color scheme. Collectors can purchase one of these for $80 beginning May 22, 2012.
