Wow, The Blot was shocked to learn that CODA is giving us not one, but two, ODB prints this year at San Diego Comic-Con 2024! Check out this epic SDCC 2024 Exclusive “Return to the 36 Chambers” Screen Print by superstar artist Tyler Stout!  For this release Stout has recreated the iconic cover to the Wu-Tang Clan member's debut solo album, Return to the 36 Chambers, in Tyler’s unique art style.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2024 ODB “Return to the 36 Chambers” Screen Print by Tyler Stout measures 30”x24” and will be available in two hand numbered colorways: Regular Edition and Metallic Gold Variant.  The Regular Edition is limited to 240 pieces and will retail for $65, while the Metallic Gold Variant is limited to just 36 copies and will retail for $200. Both can be purchased at the CODA SDCC booth #4900, however the Variant will only be available by lottery.

Entry is free and winners will be announced later next week. Any remaining prints will be available during CODA’s online sale at 1pm ET on Friday, August 2nd, at CODAcurates.com.

First Look: RZA as Blind Master G.I. Joe: Retaliation Action Figure

First Look: RZA as Blind Master G.I. Joe: Retaliation 3.75 Inch Action Figure

If you haven’t been able to tell by now, The Blot is really excited about G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Hasbro's corresponding Real American Hero scale toy line! Why? Because we’re getting very cool, super articulated 3.75” action figures of actors like Bruce Willis, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan. Yes the RZA is getting his own G.I. Joe action figure! Come on, that’s pretty freaking cool. Who’s next, Method Man?

The only downside to this toy is the head sculpt isn’t as useful for customizing Wu-Tang era RZA figures. Although I’m sure some talented artists are already working on a way around that beard. RZA will be portraying the Blind Master, who in the world of G.I. Joe: Retaliation is one of the Arashikage ninja masters who taught Snake-Eyes, Storm Shadow and his protégé Jinx.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is scheduled to premier in theaters on June 29, 2012.

Doctor Who x Wu-Tang Clan T-Shirt “Doctor Wu” by Alex Pardee

Doctor Who x Wu-Tang Clan T-Shirt “Doctor Wu” by Alex Pardee

As you know, The Blot’s always on the lookout for cool pop culture t-shirts and this one is especially dope. Not only is it a killer mash-up of Doctor Who and the Wu-Tang Clan, but “Doctor Wu” is by one of my favorite artists, Alex Pardee! That makes it a triple mash-up of sorts. Plus, the title of the t-shirt is especially awesome.

Digitally printed on white American Apparel unisex tees, “Doctor Wu” by Alex Pardee can be purchased at the Zero Friends online store for $20 each.

The Black Cream Edition Ghostface Killah Doll by 4CAST

A huge smile ran over The Blot’s face when I found out 4CAST was finally releasing its vinyl figure (really it’s more of an action figure) of the Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah. Why this made me smile is because one of the very first posts I ever wrote here at The Blot Says… was about this very figure way back at the end of 2007 (you can see the original post here)! Flash forward three years and here we are again…I’m still blogging away and 4CAST is just now releasing its Ghostface Killah “dolls.” I definitely did not see this one coming!

The Black Cream Edition Ghostface Killah Doll by 4CAST

The Black Cream Edition Ghostface Doll stands 9" tall, has a limited edition run size of 250 pieces and retails for $75. Each figure comes packaged in a full color box complete with mix tape and certificate of authenticity. This figure also has an internal voice chip that recites 7 catch phrases recorded by Ghostface himself. Originally this figure was to include two 14k gold accessories, but due to the extremely high price of gold those accessories have been abandoned (and the retail price has been lowered to compensate). The Ghostface Killah figure is currently in stock and ready for purchase here at Entertainment Earth.

Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah Immortalized In Plastic

The Ghostface Killah DollThe Ghostface Killah DollWhat seems weird to The Blot is that this toy of acclaimed rapper and Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah is labeled a "doll." If anything a toy named after a former drug dealer whose moniker is Ghostface Killah should be called an action figure. Especially when it's rockin the kung-fu grip as show in the above picture. This recently released figure by 4CAST Limited has to be one of the craziest things I've seen in a long time. If you've got a few minutes I definitely recommend checking out the toy's website at www.theghostfacedoll.com.

The Ghostface Killah DollThe Ghostface doll does strive to be authentic, I'll give it that. It comes with Ghostface's old school Eagle Wristband that not only has a real diamond in it but is made out of 14K gold. Also made out of 14K gold is Ghostface's trademark dinner plate pendant and chain. And what's a toy based on a rapper without top of the line clothing? The Ghostface doll comes in a pimp tight robe and a pair of Clarks wallabees, which The Blot loves and still wears to this day. Best of all this rapper turned action figure really talks. Ghostface himself recorded 5 unique phrases for lil' Ghost to spout when hitting on your collection of Barbie and Wonder Woman dolls. It seems like 4CAST Limited has spared no expense, but wait there's more. The best part is that the toy is then packaged in "a box that has remnants of Fine Louis XIII cognac." (Link) You see, The Blot just can't make stuff like this up!

So you might be asking yourself at this point, "wow this sounds great, but how much would a limited edition Ghostface Killah doll cost me?" I'm glad you asked, because this is the part that blows my mind. The doll sells on the 4CAST Limited Online Store for...$499.99! Yup, that's not a misprint, its straight from their store. Now I had a feeling the toy would be steep when they're talking diamonds and gold, but even then I was figuring $100, maybe $200 tops. But over $500 after shipping is crazy. Who's buying this toy? And more importantly who exactly is this company marketing this toy to? What segment of the hip hop community is out there going, man I wish I could buy a $500 DOLL of my favorite rapper? Yeah, I'm stunned too.

The Ghostface Killah DollBesides, no disrespect to Ghostface who is an amazing rapper in his own right, but I'm pretty sure the Wu-Tang Clan is a little past their peak. I know this toy is "devised to rekindle the feelings of the Golden Era of 90's hip-hop," but this toy probably should have come out during that golden era of hip-hop if it's hoping to sell that many dolls. (Link) The truth is Ghostface even after releasing two amazing albums last year (Fishscale and More Fish) just doesn't have that much clout or name recognition with the buying public. Maybe if this new toy line first launched with more well known established hip-hop artists like Jay-Z or even Dr. Dre it would have a better chance to make it, but I don't see exactly who's rushing out to buy a ridiculously expensive doll of Ghostface Killah. And this is coming from one of a small minority of people who still likes hip-hop, his music specifically and toys.

Ghostface's Eagle Wristband Regardless of the fact that I'm 100% certain none of my regular readers will be buying this outlandishly expensive and decorative doll, I still recommend checking out the toy's site www.theghostfacedoll.com. Its really well put together, gives you great pictures/explanations of the outlandish accessories the toy comes with and all in all just takes itself way too seriously for what it is, a crazy expensive toy. And I can't forget to mention the best part of the site. 4CAST has even created a blog for its mini Ghostface with pictures of the little guy lounging around and being played with by scantily clad females. If that doesn't sell you on ordering one right away I don't know what will!
