Spider-Man Movie Reboot First Look: Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man
The internet is a buzz with our very first look at Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man in Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man reboot. Personally, I LOVE the new costume! To me, it looks a lot more like what I envision Spider-Man’s duds would look like in real life. Sam Raimi’s version was definitely a lot sleeker, but it wasn’t as realistic in my mind (I know, I know, none of this is realistic but whatever).
It’s interesting to note that it appears Garfield is wearing web slingers under his costume. This means the film will be based off Peter Parker’s original origin story from Marvel Comics, in which he built mechanical web slingers to enhance his new found powers. On the one hand, I really like that Marc Webb is utilizing one of Spidey’s trademark gadgets, but I think the organic web slingers made more sense and were easier to explain. Either way, here’s hoping this Spider-Man movie is more like the first and no where near as bad as the third!

DC Comics x Mimobot Batman USB Flash Drive Collection
Earlier this week at CES 2011, Mimoco announced it would be joining forces with Warner Bros. to produce DC Comics inspired designs kicking off with the Batman Mimobot USB Flash Drive Collection. The collectible series includes a limited-edition Vintage Batman Mimobot design inspired by Batman’s 1939 debut in Detective Comics #27. Familiar yet foreign, this original vision of The Batman captures the Dark Knight’s initial bold design elements that echo the art deco and avant-garde style of the era.
The DC Comics x Mimobot designer character-based flash drive collection leads off with the vintage 1939-era Batman, paying tribute to DC’s 75th anniversary, and will later be joined by a full wave of Batman flash drive designs in February including Robin, Catwoman and The Joker. More Mimobot series based on other DC Comics’ characters, including Green Lantern, Superman and The Flash, will follow in the near future.
The Vintage Batman Mimobot has a limited edition run size of 5,000 pieces and can be purchased here for $24.95 (4GB). Each Mimobot comes pre-loaded with exclusive Batman Mimobot wallpapers, screensavers, and avatars.

DC Comics Blue Beetle Symbol T-Shirt by Graphitti Designs
As you all know, The Blot loves Graphitti Designs new line of DC Comics Symbol t-shirts, especially when those shirts features the symbols of B, C or D-list super heroes and villains. To a fan of the Justice League International, there’s no bigger C-list hero than Blue Beetle (the Ted Kord version naturally). So of course The Blot was pretty pumped to learn a Blue Beetle Symbol t-shirt is on its way! Finally Blue and Gold can be together again…only this time hanging in my closet.
The Blue Beetle Symbol t-shirt will be available for purchase directly from Graphitti Designs sometime soon in sizes S-XXL. Sizes S-XL will retail for $17.95, while an XXL tee will retail for $20.95.

Threadless Care Bear T-Shirt “The Curse of the Care Were!”
Threadless released a Care Bears inspired t-shirt I just had to blog about. For obvious reasons, The Blot wasn’t a huge Care Bears fan as a little kid. But I’m really digging "The Curse of the Care Were!" I mean who wouldn’t want to wear a t-shirt with a pink Care Were on it!?! This definitely ain’t your parents’ Tenderheart Bear. My only question is, since the creature in this design is a Care Werewolf does that make it a Care Bear Cousin and not a true Care Bear? Things that make you go hmmm…
Inspired by the Care Bears, the Threadless t-shirt “The Curse of the Care Were!” comes printed on a light blue t-shirt and is currently available at Threadless.com for $20. The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.

The Green Hornet One Sheet Movie Poster
Lukewarm reviews for The Green Hornet are already starting to stream in, but I’m hoping these critics are not Michel Gondry fans. Could be, right? The Green Hornet is actually faring pretty well on Rotten Tomatoes (so far), where after 6 reviews the film has a fresh rating of 83%. Here’s hoping that score holds up! While the film may just be ok, The Green Hornet one sheet movie poster above is actually pretty cool. The poster features Seth Rogen as the Green Hornet and Jay Chou as Kato standing in front of the Hornet’s car, the “Black Beauty.”
The Green Hornet will premiere in theaters this Friday, January 14, 2011.

Midnight Pocket Mummy Gator & Moonlight Pocket Mummy Boy by Super7
A new year can only mean one thing, new toys! Super7 has cooked up a couple of cool creations to help warm up the cold, dark winter: the Midnight Pocket Mummy Gator and Moonlight Pocket Mummy Boy! The Midnight Pocket Mummy Gator lurks in the murky swamp, poking his eyes above water in the middle of the night, cast in translucent purple vinyl with black and light blue sprays, while the Moonlight Mummy Boy continues to wander endlessly topside, happily searching for his missing arm by moonlight. He is cast in Blue Glow-in-the-Dark vinyl with purple and soft-white sprays.
Both of these creatures of the night will go on sale this Saturday, January 15th, at 11am PST at the Super7 online store for $25 each.

Threadless Transformers T-Shirt “Optimust”
Optimus by Phil Jones
Check out this amazing Transformers ink blot t-shirt from Threadless! This is exactly the kind of artwork The Blot Says… needs (hint, hint); I just wish I had thought of it first. The artist behind the design, Phil Jones, is on a serious tear lately. He has had multiple pop culture inspired t-shirts released by Threadless in the past few months, and “Optimust” might be his best yet. This Optimus Prime ink blot design is just plain sick!
Inspired by Transformers, the Threadless t-shirt “Optimust” comes printed on a white t-shirt and is currently available at Threadless.com for $20. The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.

Limited to just 240 pieces, the Mono Colorway Wonder Woman DC Universe Pop! Heroes vinyl figure can be yours for just $15. Purchase one here directly from Toy Tokyo while supplies last!
