Adventure Time Pop! Vinyl Figures by Funko

Funko never ceases to amaze me with their licensed toys. They continue to release officially licensed Pop! vinyl figures of the hottest properties on TV, movies, comic books and video games. So of course Funko would release an epic line of Adventure Time Pop! Television vinyl figures based on the super popular Cartoon Network animated series. This cartoon has taken over the pop culture landscape, and these vinyl figures will definitely be sought after by the TV show’s faithful audience.

The Adventure Time Pop! Television Series includes Finn, Jake, Ice King, Marceline the Vampire Queen, BMC, Princess Bubblegum, Lumpy Space Princess, Fionna, Cake, Lemongrab and Gunter. Super7 & Funko Team Up On Expanded Retro ReAction Figure Line - Alien, Predator, BTTF, Firefly, Terminator, Goonies & More!

Wow, The Blot never saw this news coming!!! After the successful debut of Super7’s new Alien ReAction Figure Line at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, S7 is teaming up with Funko to continue their ReAction Figure 3 3/4" toy line and give it wider distribution. How cool is it that two of my favorite toy companies are teaming up to produce a retro line of 3 ¾” action figures!?! According to Funko, in the next year we can look forward to retro Kenner inspired action figures based on movies such as Back to the Future, Aliens, Predator, Firefly, Universal Monsters, Terminator 1 and 2, The Goonies, Escape from NY and many, many more! This line is going to be HUGE!

If you’re wondering how the American sofubi kings Super7 ended up collaborating with Funko, the creators of Pop! vinyl figures and Wacky Wobbler bobble heads, all you have to do is look at San Diego Comic-Con. After sharing the same aisle at SDCC for years, Super7 and Funko saw an incredible opportunity to leverage each other's unique business insights into a more strategic partnership. Mario Kart Screen Print “Drifiting Into Darkness” by Russ Moore

Russ Moore’s next entry in his popular Sold-Out Video Game Screen Print Series is the Mario Kart inspired “Drifting Into Darkness” print. The Blot was obsessed with the original Mario Kart video game back in college, so seeing this beautiful image by Moore really takes me back! Mario Kart is now considered a classic Nintendo game and this print, featuring Luigi and Bowser, is all kinds of fun (just like the game).

“Drifting Into Darkness” by Russ Moore is an 18”x24” Mario Kart inspired 7 color screen print. Not only does each print come signed and numbered by the artist, but Moore will also be adding the title to each print by hand in pencil at the bottom! How freaking cool is that!?! The Standard Edition is limited to just 150 pieces, while the Variant Edition is printed on metallic ice-gold Curious brand paper, with metallic gold Lava, and is limited to just 30 pieces. The Walking Dead “Ezekiel Has a Tiger” T-Shirt by Charlie Adlard

Robert Kirkman’s hit comic book series The Walking Dead has a long standing history of introducing interesting and eclectic characters each and every month. One of the long running Image comic book series newest characters is Ezekiel! First introduced in The Walking Dead #108, Ezekiel is the king of the community nicknamed The Kingdom, and as the t-shirt above explains, he has a pet tiger. It’s so shocking, so ridiculous, and well…so awesome! Kirkman is great at creating colorful, off kilter characters and Ezekiel is a perfect example of that. I can’t wait to learn more about King Ezekiel and his Kingdom as we move closer and closer to the upcoming TWD “All Out War” storyline.

Star Wars x Addict T-Shirt Collection

UK clothing brand Addict has teamed up with Lucasfilm and Disney to produce a pretty cool, officially licensed line of Star Wars t-shirts featuring Darth Vader, Boba Fett, C-3PO, R2-D2 and Princess Leia. The Star Wars x Addict T-Shirt Collection is based primarily on the original Star Wars trilogy and is made up of a number of limited edition series, including the Addict Mainline Series, Shogun Vector Series and the Mitch Icons Series.

The Blot really loves the simplicity of this collection, with its clean lines and muted color schemes, although most of the designs remind me of previously released material. Some of the designs look like Star Wars versions of professional sports teams’ logos, while the others have the same look and feel as Obey Giant’s now iconic Obama presidential campaign poster. Then there’s the graffiti inspired character designs by Mitchy Bwoy that remind me of a mix of David Flores’ Star Wars tees and the Marc Ecko Cut and Sew Star Wars Collection. While you can definitely see the inspiration behind these designs, I like how Addict was able to make the styles their own.
