“Growing up, one of the things that I used to look forward to the most was the sun going down on a Friday night. School was finally over for the week, and the sun setting was the start of whatever adventures were going to happen that weekend. That feeling is one of the things that I latched onto the most with Dazed and Confused (and other coming of age movies like American Graffiti) when I saw it as a freshman in ‘94. It’s one night, one 24hr window into the lives of these characters and that’s it. Because of that, I wanted to set the poster just as the sun is going down ... the party’s been cancelled and all of the characters are on the prowl for whatever’s next. That's what I think of when I think of that film and being that age. You could end up at a punk show in another city or strike out completely and just mindlessly drive around for the night. As Cyclops Prints explained, “The hot sun over Agrabah burns bright in Pernille Ørum’s imaginative tribute to Disney’s 1992 animated classic Aladdin. Princess Jasmine contemplates her life and the confines of her royal status, before setting free a flock of caged birds that joyfully burst off into the desert sky.” This is Pernille’s third print release with Cyclops Print Works, having previously designed artwork inspired by The Little Mermaid and Tangled.

Aladdin by Pernille Ørum is a 36”x24” hand numbered 9 color Disney screen print on Stardream Coral 285gsm paper. Limited to just 200 pieces, this wonderful new art print will go on sale at 10am PT on Wednesday, May 15th, at CyclopsPrintWorks.com for $80.

Dune: Part Two Print by Ian Permana x Bottleneck Gallery

Bottleneck Gallery continues its popular Dune Print Series with this beautiful Dune: Part Two movie poster by artist Ian Permana. As BNG explained, “Dune: Part Two was everything we hoped for in a middle chapter of a sci-fi epic: Stunning set pieces; massive plot points coming to fruition; and, most importantly, sandworm surfing. Ian’s art is perfect for the spice-d out world of Dune, with mesmerizing patterns of lines defining the almighty sandworms and the dusty, sandy environment, and enticingly cool neon color palettes.
