Coming Soon: The Playboy Designer Art Toy Series presented by Coartism & Blitzway

Yesterday, Coartism announced on their Instagram page an exciting new collaboration between the mysterious company and Blitzway to produce an epic new line of designer art toys based on the iconic Playboy brand by many of the industry’s top artists! In The Blot’s honest opinion, this is exactly the type of forward thinking artist series the designer art toy scene desperately needs. The Playboy Collector’s Edition Art Toys Series features seven Playboy magazine inspired vinyl figures by Eric So, David Flores, Mighty Jaxx, Les Schettkoe, TwelveDot, Sticky Monster Lab and Hands In Factory. While we don’t know too many details yet, it appears that the 7 figures below will all be released sometime in 2015! The Blot can’t wait to find out more...and get my hands on a number of the pieces in this Playboy Artist Series Collection!

Transformers 8 Bit T-Shirts by The Loyal Subjects

Over the past three years The Loyal Subjects have been killing it with their officially licensed Transformers products, which includes everything from vinyl figures, skate decks, and t-shirts, to stickers, tote bags and even socks! One of their latest batch of Transformers t-shirt is this 8-bit collection, which reimagines your favorite Autobots and Decepticons as old school video game characters. There are currently available 8 Bit Transformers t-shirts of Bumblebee, Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave. It’s a pretty Decepticons heavy collection, and where the heck is Optimus Prime!?!

“Classic” Deadpool Premium Hikari Sofubi Vinyl Figure by Funko

Funko has unveiled the third figure in its popular line of Marvel Premium Hikari Sofubi Vinyl Figures, and it’s everyone’s favorite mutant (sorry Wolverine), Deadpool! The Merc with a Mouth has never looked so good now that he’s been cast in soft Japanese vinyl (made in China) and sporting his “Classic” color scheme with red, black and white sprays. Next month, the second colorway of Funko’s epic Groot Hikari sofubi vinyl figure will be released exclusively at Entertainment Earth! The “Planet X” Groot Guardians of the Galaxy Hikari pays homage to Groot’s home planet in the comic books, Planet X. This character specific colorway features an auburn and brown distressed color deco that makes the colossal 11” figure look like it’s made from real wood!

Hikari, meaning “light”, is a highly collectible line of clear/translucent figures cast in soft Japanese vinyl (made in China). This bad boy just took the title of The Blot’s all time favorite Pop! figure. Now bring on the movie so we can see this devastating Hulkbuster Iron Man armor go to war with The Incredible Hulk!

Funko is not messing around this year with the Avengers: Age of Ultron tie-ins! They are going all in with Marvel’s premiere movie franchise. Their newest release is this adorable and cuddly line of Avengers: Age of Ultron Fabrikations plush figures, which includes 6” dolls of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk. Each soft sculpted Fabrikations figure is filled with a dense foam to achieve a high-end lush feel that’s weighted so it can stand anywhere. While these figures look great, where the heck is my Ultron Fabrikations!?! I mean who wouldn’t want to cuddle with a homicide robot while you try to go to sleep?

Funko has unveiled its new Marvel Comics Mystery Minis Blind Box Series, and it’s based on what is sure to be the biggest film of 2015, Avengers: Age of Ultron! Is there anyone out there who’s not excited to see this film!?! The Avengers: Age of Ultron Mystery Minis Series includes 2.5” vinyl figures of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury and The Vision, as well as the evil Ultron and an Iron Legionnaire! While all of the figures look fantastic, The Blot’s personal favorite is the Hulkbuster Armor Iron Man. It’s freaking massive for a tiny mini vinyl figure.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Pop! Marvel Vinyl Figures by Funko

Yesterday, Funko made the announcement we’ve all been waiting for… They’ve finally unveiled their entire line of officially licensed Avengers: Age of Ultron toys! The Blot was seriously blown away by how many movie tie-in figures Funko is producing this summer, and my favorite release of the bunch is without a doubt these Avengers: Age of Ultron Pop! Marvel vinyl figures. All of these look fantastic, but why the heck did Funko make The Vision pink!?! There’s no way he’s actually pink in the movie, right?

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Pop! Series includes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, The Vision and the evil Ultron. Here’s hoping we see an Age of Ultron Pop! Series 2 with some female characters! I can’t imagine we won’t be seeing a Black Widow, Nick Fury, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver Pop! produced at some point in the near future.

Painted Two-Faced Pink Vinyl Heads & Translucent Green Jumbo Resin Skulls by Buff Monster

This Friday Buff Monster will be unleashing two new releases upon the world! First up is the first painted colorway of Buff’s Two-Faced vinyl head cast in bright pink Japanese vinyl and hand-painted with a gloss coat. This bad boy looks great on its own, but was also designed to fit any Mister Melty body in your collection. Each Two-Faced Head comes packaged in a bag with a header, and will retail for just $20.

Next up is the first official release of Buff’s Jumbo Resin Skull! Each handmade figure features a swirl of translucent green and opaque white resin, with glitter mixed in and a gloss coat. Each one features a one of a kind swirl effect and comes packaged in a hand-printed cardboard box for $40.
