Sofubi-man 1st Painted Edition Vinyl Figure by Mark Nagata x Max Toy Co

Last week, Max Toy Co released the first batch of the first painted edition of Mark Nagata’s epic Sofubi-man vinyl figure! While these fantastic painted Sofubi-man figures sold out almost immediately upon release, Nagata is currently working on a second batch that will be released later this week. The First Painted Edition Sofubi-man is cast in flesh soft Japanese vinyl, stands 6” tall and features one point of articulation (neck). Each hand painted figure comes bagged with a header card, and retails for $60 at the Max Toy Company online store.

Nagata explained, “As many of you may (or not) know, I've had a life long love affair with soft vinyl kaiju since 1973. But, it wasn't till much later that I found out more about the actual process of making and casting these types of toys. The last few years I've had a goal to make a Sofubi-man out of Sofubi!” What a wonderful homage to the men and women who cast soft vinyl figures in Japan.

Venom Splatter Art Movie Posters

Venom, starring Tom Hardy, is set to open in theaters this weekend. To help promote the film, Sony has released these splatter art one sheet movie posters. While they look cool, these posters don’t do much to actually entice me to see the film. 20 years ago, The Blot would have killed for a live action Venom film. But a lot of time has past, and now I’ve got super low expectations. I’m not even sure I’ll see the film in the theater. If Sony was smart, they’d turn over control of the entire Spider-Man universe to Marvel and let them incorporate it into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Venom will premiere in theaters this Friday, October 5, 2018.
