It’s almost Valentine’s Day, which means it’s time for Dark Hall Mansion to release its yearly Valentine’s Day inspired Peanuts screen prints! This year DHM is teaming up with Lorelay Bove, an extremely talented Spanish artist who began her with Pixar and now works for the Walt Disney Animation Studios. Dark Hall Mansion’s first release of 2014 pays tribute to Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown, Charles Schulz’ 1975 ode to semi-unrequited love. While the Standard Edition print is nice, The Blot really loves Lorelay's exquisite and powerful black and blue Variant design featuring Charlie Brown and his briefcase to hold all the valentines he's desperately hoping to receive.

“Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown” by Lorelay Bove are 18”x24” numbered prints. The Standard Edition has a limited edition run size of 280 pieces and will retail for $65, while the Variant has a limited edition run size of 50 pieces and will retail for $100. Each version also has a very limited Maple Wood Variant limited to just 5 pieces each and will retail for $250. All four versions go on sale at 9:30am PST on Wednesday, February 5th, at the Dark Hall Mansion online store.

Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown Peanuts Screen Print by Jayson Weidel

Dark Hal Mansion newest officially licensed Peanuts screen print and this time they pay tribute to “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown,” Charles Schulz’ 1975 ode to pure, true love. Designed by artist Jayson Weidel, the Standard Edition print captures the classic moment when Charlie Brown finally gets up the nerve to open his mailbox to see if he’s received a Valentine’s Day card from the Little Red Haired Girl, and well, you can see what he finds in the image above! The Variant Print is my favorite of the two due to its simplicity. With just a few small images and a perfectly selected font Weidel is able to evoke so much emotion.
