Tenacious Toys is teaming up with Bigshot Toys for an early release of a blue colorway of their new 4” sofubi figure, Shi-Shi the Tiny Guardian, this weekend at Five Points Festival 2019! With inspiration drawn from the legendary and formidable guardian lion statues that are ubiquitous across China, Bigshot Toys Creative Director Klim K. pondered the backstory of the little baby cub traditionally depicted under the mother lion’s paw. Klim and his team decided to explore that story, enchanted by the subtle nuances of the family dynamic of guardian lions.

Rambunctious, mischievous, eager to please and eternally hungry, Shi-Shi is poised to be the next protector of the Forbidden City and all the secrets held within. The Five Points Festival 2019 Exclusive Shi-Shi the Tiny Guardian Blue Sofubi by Bigshot Toys is the third colorway of Shi-Shi – the first two were a translucent Plum and a Sakura pink, which were released at Thailand Toy Expo. Dream BIG Friends Kickstarter Campaign Needs Your Support!

What happens when veterans of the toy industry come together to pour their vision into a concept whose time has come? Something BIG! After watching their own kids play, David Horvath and Sun Min (award winning designers of Uglydoll) began a discussion with Klim Kozinevich (Creative Director of Bigshot Toyworks) and wondered what if there was more? The worlds of princesses and pixies, fashion models and super heroes are all fantastic, but something was missing.

The trio set out to create a unique personality in a small plastic body, focusing on aspirational, inspirational and imaginative play. Something that would encourage kids around the world to embrace what makes them who and what they are, inside and out. David, Sun Min and Klim wanted their first doll, and all of her friends, to feel like very real characters, complete with rich backgrounds and boundless potential. True avatars for your imagination. And with that, Yuna was born!

Yuna is the very first 10" articulated doll in an all new line called “Dream BIG Friends”. She's also the first Asian American girl to be the center of a doll line! She loves science, travel, rockets, art, design, and Korean food. Her BIG dream is to run a company designing rockets that will one day take her to Mars. With your help, she’s sure to get there.

“Miya-san” Hayao Miyazaki Tribute Figure by Bigshot Toyworks & Martin Hsu

Bigshot Toyworks and Martin Hsu have teamd up to create the new Miya-san resin figure, a tribute to the legendary filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. If you’re not familiar with Miyazaki, he is the creator of such classics as Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Ponyo. Now that’s a pretty stellar line-up if I do say so myself! This spot on homage is a true celebration of all the joy Miyazaki has brought to the world.

The Miya-san resin figure by Bigshot Toyworks and Martin Hsu is limited to just 300 pieces and will go up for pre-sale at the Tenacious Toys online store for $95 each beginning on January 21st at 2pm EST and closing at midnight of January 31st. The Hayao Miyazaki tribute figure will stand 6” tall and comes packaged in a gift box. Proceeds from the sales of this figure will be donated to an as-yet-undetermined charity chosen by Martin Hsu and Klim Kozinevich.
