“Sons of a Bakery” Sons of Anarchy Hoodies by Johnny Cupcakes

Ok these aren’t exactly t-shirts, but these Sons of Anarchy inspired hoodies from Johnny Cupcakes are just too awesome not to blog about. I just wish they’d been produced as t-shirts as well! This SAMCRO Reaper homage is spot on, and I love the use of red in a design that’s typically black and white. Doesn’t that cupcake look adorable in the middle of such a seriously deadly design? The patches on the front of the hoodie are also a nice additional touch. I’m especially digging the Spade patch on the chest.

SDCC 14 Exclusive Captain America: The Winter Soldier Hoodies

Marvel will be releasing two awesome Captain America: The Winter Soldier zip-up hoodies this week at San Diego Comic-Con 2014! There’s the Captain America “Stealth” hoodie and the Winter Soldier hoodie, perfect for the Avengers fan in your life. Each hoodie is limited to just 250 pieces, will be available in sizes S-3XL and will retail for $99 at the Marvel SDCC booth #2329. The Winter Soldier hoodie will only be available on Friday of Comic-Con, while Captain America “Stealth” hoodie will only be available on Sunday.

SDCC 14 Exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy T-Shirts & Hoodies

Marvel is bringing a boatload of exclusives to San Diego Comic-Con 2014, which includes some awesome Guardians of the Galaxy t-shirt and hoodies! The Blot can’t wait for the world premiere of GotG in just a few short weeks and these designs rock. There’s a the “You’re Welcome” t-shirt, which features the silhouettes of the entire team, the “Icon” team which features the Guardians of the Galaxy’s team logo, and a Nova Corp Trainee t-shirt.

But best of all are the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Exclusive Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon hoodies!!! The Star-Lord hoodie zips all the way up to form Star-Lord’s signature mask, while the Rocket hood sports his adorable pointy ears. All of the Comic-Con exclusive t-shirts and hoodies seen here can be purchased in a variety of sizes at the Marvel SDCC booth #2329.  UPDATE: Each shirt and hoodie will be available in sizes S-3XL.  The t-shirts will retail for $25, while the hoodies (limited to 250 each) will sell for $99. The Star-Lord hoodie will only be available on Thursday of SDCC, while the Rocket Raccoon will be available Sunday only.

The Simpsons x BAPE T-Shirt Collection

A Bathing Ape kicked off 2014 with a very unexpected collaboration with…The Simpsons! To celebrate the show’s 25th season, television’s first family has been showing up in all kinds of clothing lines these past few months. Although this release might just be The Simpsons’ swankiest yet! For The Simpsons x BAPE Capsule Collection, A Bathing Ape has re-imagined Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie in the style of BAPE’s mascot Baby Milo.

The Blot’s never been a huge BAPE fan, but I do like these simplistic designs featuring The Simpsons clan and Baby Milo. The donut design is especially nice. I’m just not sure any of these t-shirts, crewnecks, zip-up hoodies, varsity jackets and snapback hats seen here are worth their hefty price tags. While most of the t-shirts sold out upon their release on January 1, 2014, many of the crewnecks and hoodies are still available at the BAPE online store for $121 and up.

The minute The Blot saw this “The Two Sides of Scott Howard” hoodie I knew I had to have it. As a kid Michael J. Fox was always my favorite actor, and the original Teen Wolf is still one of my favorite films. I’m not all that familiar with MTV’s new Teen Wolf television series, but if it means we’ll be seeing more old school Teen Wolf releases like this one then I’m all for it! Plus this design works perfectly with Threadless’ zip-up hoodie.

The Dark Knight Rises x Under Armour Gotham Rogues Collection

In what has to be one of the most interesting/random movie tie-ins, Under Armour has released an entire line of Gotham Rogues clothing based on the fictitious professional football team in The Dark Knight Rises. The one scene featuring the Gotham Rogues in TDKR is pretty freaking cool, and Under Armour’s logo is featured prominently on their uniforms, but is anyone really clamoring for these t-shirts, hoodies and hats? I think I’d be more inclined to like this clothing line if it the designs were a little cooler and had some reference to Batman and/or The Dark Knight Rises on them.

The Dark Knight Rises x Under Armour Gotham Rogues Collection includes, vintage-style mens and womens t-shirts, adjustable snapback hats, hoodies, a varsity jacket and even a movie authentic Gotham Rogues jersey. To The Blot, the jersey is definitely the coolest piece in this release…too bad it’s $199.99! All of the clothing and hats seen here are currently available for sale at the Under Armour online store and retails for between $29.99-$199.99.

Nerdy Fresh Fall/Winter 2011 Collection

Nerdy Fresh, one of The Blot’s favorite indie clothing brands, dropped its Fall/Winter 2011 Collection yesterday and absolutely killed it! Their Fall/Winter ’11 Collection includes a huge variety of t-shirts, snapbacks, crewneck sweatshirts, varsity jackets and even sleeveless hoodies! There’s definitely a little bit of everything, and something for everyone. If The Blot could pull it off, I would totally be ordering one of Nerdy Fresh’s new sleeveless hoodies (but sadly I can’t).

It’s hard picking my favorite design from the new series, but right now it’s a tie between Chief Astro and the Gang of outsiders graphic. Although the dopiest part of the collection is definitely the Nerdy Fresh varsity jackets. I really love everything about them, from the colors and stitching to the graphics and stripes. Yesterday Johnny Cupcakes released an all new batch of delicious designs made to help get you ready for “Back to School.” I really like this crop of t-shirts and pullovers because of its great mix of JC logos, characters and designs.


I hate to admit this, but I was super excited about the purple Cupcake and Crossbones tee when I thought it was a Lakers inspired colorway. But after closer inspection, the Cupcake and Crossbones is actually green and not gold. Oh well! Regardless, this is a great collection to start off the fall season.

The Hundreds x Disney - The Lost Boys T-Shirts

As you all probably know by now I’m a sucker for Disney crossovers, so I was especially excited to hear The Hundreds was teaming up with Disney to release a line of clothing featuring The Lost Boys from Disney’s classic animated feature film Peter Pan. While the Blot loves Peter Pan, I especially love this project because it features some seldom used characters from the Disney vault.


The Lost Boys are literally a group of little boys whose nannies lose them and eventually find their way to Neverland. Once there, they realize they will never have to grow up and love it, choosing to stay forever and become Peter Pan’s unofficial posse. They act as the comic relief for the movie and you can always tell them apart by the animal costume they wear.


The Walt Disney Company has been around so long and created so many wonderful characters that many secondary characters often get lost in the shuffle. It’s pretty exciting then when a designer clothing company like The Hundreds decides to feature a group of not often seen supporting Disney characters in their very own clothing line.

Pac-Man Hooded Sweatshirt

Sticking with today’s theme of classic arcade game related products, The Blot just had to talk about this awesome Pac-Man Hoodie. I think this black and blue hoodie based on the Namco video game has been out for a while, but it’s new to me which means it’s also new to The Blot Says… Pac-Man is THE quintessential 80’s video game and this hoodie’s crazy design is like wearing the actual game.


As you can see from the pictures, the Pac-Man Hooded Sweatshirt has the Pac-Man game board all over its front, back and hood, and even features Pac-Man being chased by those pesky ghosts, Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde. The Blot has been waiting for Johnny Cupcakes to release (and re-release) some new t-shirts, and it finally happened this past weekend. Not only that, but Johnny Cupcakes also unveiled an all new website which you can see here.



I’m a big fan of fall colors and the limited edition Halloween t-shirts are very cool, especially the Coffin Cupcake shirt. I’ve been holding out for just the right Cupcake & Crossbones colorway to come out and I think this Orange on Army Green might be the one I finally order. New Star Wars Clothing Line By Marc Ecko

This week Marc Ecko released his all new Star Wars Collection clothing line, which features two very cool, limited edition hoodies. The Blot is a huge Star Wars fan and these character hoodies are sick, especially the Boba Fett one (which I think I’m going to have to purchase immediately).



I am never quite sure what to expect when it’s announced that a popular property like Star Wars is teaming up with a designer clothing company, but Ecko really hit it out of the park with his Star Wars Collection. Many of the t-shirts in this line are very stylish and I really love the Star Wars Exploding Storm Trooper t-shirt. My only question is why so much of the clothing line is centered around the Empire’s generic Stormtroopers?
