Houston Flood Tribute T-Shirt “Hell Or High Water” by Grits Co.

Houston Flood Tribute T-Shirt “Hell Or High Water” by Grits Co.

This past weekend Houston experienced some truly devastating floods. The Blot’s own neighborhood was one of the hardest hit areas in the city. All of the homes around me seem to have taken in huge amounts of flood water, with many families losing everything. Thankfully, my family and I emerged from this disaster unscathed, and honestly I still don’t know how that happened. We were truly one of the lucky ones. Dedicated to all of those affected by these recent floods throughout the state of Texas, fellow Houstonian Levi of Grits Co. has decided to reprint his indie clothing brand’s previously sold out t-shirt “By Hell Or High Water”.

As Levi explained, “We didn't get Hell but we definitely got the High Water. We are sending our prayers out to all that were effected by the storms that hit Texas and the nation.” A portion of the proceeds of each “Hell Or High Water” t-shirt sold will go to the Red Cross of Houston. This heather gray t-shirt featuring Grits Co.’s mascot Roscrow is currently available for pre-order, in sizes S-XXL, at the Grits online store for $32. This design’s pre-order will end June 14th and orders will begin shipping no later than June 19th.

The Blot’s Hurricane Ike Update

The Blot is happy to announce I now have power, cable and internet again. Life is almost completely back to normal after the rumblings of Hurricane Ike last weekend. Now, if we can only get more gasoline supplied to the city so I won’t have to continually dodge the long lines of cars waiting for gas at the few gas stations currently open as I go out in hunt of open restaurants.

Cars Lining Up To Get Gas In Houston, Texas After Widespread Power Outages Due To Hurricane Ike Makes It Hard To Find A Working Gas Pump
Thanks to everyone who checked in to make sure Aly and I were ok and to all the men and women out there patrolling Houston’s streets and restringing our power lines! I can’t even tell you how glad I am to have power once again.

Hurricane Ike Can't Stop The Blot

While the city of Houston is reeling from the devastating effects of Hurricane Ike, The Blot has found refuge at my buddy Eric's apartment. Somehow, someway his apartment building is one of only three in our huge complex that still has power. Plus, Eric was smart enough to get his internet through AT&T instead of our local worthless cable company (you know who you are!), so not only does he have power but he also has internet access!

The Blot Has A Posse
Thankfully, Aly and I are doing fine and all of our friends and family around southeast Texas seem to be ok after Ike blew in early this morning. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for residents all along Texas' Gulf Coast. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone currently dealing with the flooding and wind damage caused by this weekend's hurricane.

Have no fear, The Blot Says… will return on Monday!
