Aerosol Warfare presents The Masked Lizard Rides Again: The Works of Mark Bode, Vaughn Bode & Posse
Next Saturday, January 18th, Aerosol Warfare will be hosting the coolest Houston art show The Blot’s seen since moving here back in 2005! Legendary artist Mark Bode will be making his first Texas appearance at street art gallery Aerosol Warfare for “The Masked Lizard Rides Again”! This art exhibition will feature original artwork and books from the collection of Mark Bode and the late Vaughn Bode, as well as a small group art show of Bode-inspired pieces by a very special invited artist posse comprised of AZUL, COLERSONER, DANDEE WARHOL, DEATH HEAD, DECKWGF, DUROCK, MIKE HERNANDEZ, GONZO247, GRAVE, JESTER, MERGE360, NATE NASH, SIEGO, SKEEZ181, SKEWONE, SLOKE, OSCAR and more.
The Blot is all kinds of excited to have Mark Bode in Houston and I can’t wait to meet him. Bode will be available for autographs and book signings at the Aerosol Warefare Gallery during the event’s opening night reception from 6-10pm on Saturday, January 18th. The evening will also feature MC Craig BBC Long on the mic, live painting of a car belonging to art patron, Chris Higham, BBOY breaking and entertainment led by Marlon of HAVIKORO and DJ Joe B of Rebel Crew on the turntables. If you live in Houston (or really anywhere in Texas) you won’t want to miss this show!

DCon Exclusive Mini GibbyGops Resin Figures by Jester
Fellow Houstonian Jester is heading out to Designer Con 2012 again this year, and bringing with him some awesome new Mini GibbyGops! Not only has Jester shrunk his popular GibbyGop, but he’s produce his signature character in four vibrant colors: white, black, orange and pink. Only 16 Designer Con 2012 Exclusive Unpainted Mini GibbyGops were created, with four figures in each color. Jester has also printed up some fun “BettyGop” American Apparel t-shirts in women and children styles, and will have a number of killer customs up for sale at his DCon booth #624. If you’re able to attend Designer Con this year you definitely won’t want to miss Jester’s booth!

Custom Bellicose Bunny by Jester
Tonight is opening night for Nathan Hamill’s BELLICOSITY: A Bellicose Bunny Custom Group Show at TAG in LA. When the show was first announced I heard some say they weren’t sure how the Bellicose Bunny sculpt would work as a platform for a custom show. Boy were they wrong! From the teaser images I’ve seen so far, every piece has been more amazing than the last. Just look at this awesome custom by fellow Houstonian Jester! In his custom, the Bellicose Bunny has upgraded from his carrot rocket to something a little more menacing. Be sure to check the TAG website on Saturday to see all of the customs, because this is going to be an amazing show!
BELLICOSITY opens Friday, March 23rd, and runs through April 6th at Toy Art Gallery’s new showroom located at 7571 Melrose Ave., Hollywood CA 90046. Artists participating in the show are: A Little Stranger, Ardabus Rubber, Ayleen Gaspar, Blamo (Mikie Graham), Bob Conge, Brandon Griffith, Carson Catlin, Cris Rose, D-Lux, George Gaspar, Gris Grimly, J*Ryu, Jeremiah Ketner, Jermaine Rogers, Jester, Jon-Paul Kaiser, Josh Mayhem, Julie B., Julie West, KMNDZ, Lash, Leecifer, Luke Chueh, Martin Hsu, Miss Mindy, Nebulon5, OsirisOrion, Peap, Ragnar, Rohby, Rsin, Scott Tolleson, SpankyStokes, Steve Talkowski, Southerdrawl, TaskOne, Todd Robertson, Tomi Monstre, Touma, Toybot Studios, Valleydweller, Voltaire and many more!

Custom Nade by Jester for "Blow Up L.A."
Check out this awesome custom Nade vinyl figure by Houston’s own Jester! Created for Aerosol Warefare’s upcoming custom show “Blow up L.A.: The Art of Blowing Up Your City” at Crewest, I love how Jester took Jamungo’s Nade and gave it a realistic rusted look. If I didn’t know any better I’d say this figure was made of actual steel. The transformation is pretty incredible isn’t it? I’m just hoping this explosive show makes its way to Houston eventually.
“Blow Up L.A.” is currently taking place at Crewest for the entire month of February. Curated by Houston’s own GONZO247, the show will also feature custom figures by ASHIRA SEIGEL, BEAU POPE, BEZERK ONE, CAT CULT, CEASE ONE, ERIC MARTINEZ, FLIP ONE, PR!MO, ROMEWON, DJ BATTLEMONKEY, ABELS, CBELUM, SKEEZ181, DECKWGF, VALERIE G, JUSTIN GARCIA, TEXASCRAZE GWS, KAADI, KELYNE REIS, KWEEN ONE, PHYLO TSF, PYRO, SABRINA CLARK, THIRD ONE TSF, TOK1, T KLENOW, and more! And if you’re in the LA area, Gonzo247 of Aerosol Warfare will be present on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 6-10pm during the Downtown Artwalk, which will include live music by DJ Phyz Ed.
