“Bo Knows Cupcakes” Big Kid T-Shirt by Johnny Cupcakes

Bo Jackson “Bo Knows Cupcakes” Big Kid T-Shirt by Johnny Cupcakes

Sadly, yesterday was the very last day Johnny Cupcakes LA was open. To celebrate 8 wonderful years in LA, Johnny Cupcakes released a killer batch of pop culture inspired tees including this ode to Bo Jackson and his iconic Nike ad campaign “Bo Knows”. This epic design features Big Kid, JC’s beloved mascot, dressed up as Bo Jackson during his NFL playing days with the Oakland Raiders. Bo definitely knows some cupcakes! This awesome design is limited to just 100 pieces, and I assume it sold out yesterday at the JCLA farewell party.

8 Bit Apparel NFL T-Shirt Collection

8 Bit Apparel - “Pittsburg”, “New Orleans”, “Miami” & “New York Giants” T-Shirts

The Blot loves indie clothing brands, and I’m always on the lookout for the next cool t-shirt to add to my closet. When I saw these retro NFL inspired designs by 8 Bit Apparel I knew I had to have one! While I’m a sucker for all 8-bit designs (they take me back to my childhood spent mashing the A and B buttons on my Nintendo controller), I especially love these t-shirts by 8 Bit Apparel. Why? Because they pay tribute to the greatest sports game on the NES, Tecmo Super Bowl!

8 Bit Apparel - “Can’t Stop 34”, “I [Ran] Green Bay”, “I [Ran] San Francisco” & “I [Ran] Dallas” T-Shirts

Anyone who has ever played Tecmo Super Bowl knows the best player in the game was the unstoppable Bo Jackson. My group of friends had to eventually outlaw playing with the Oakland Raiders because anyone who played with Bo Jackson was always going to win. You can now honor Bo’s dominance in Tecmo Super Bowl with this killer “Can’t Stop 34” t-shirt from 8 Bit Apparel! Along with the Bo Jackson design, 8 Bit Apparel also has a cool “I [Ran] ________” t-shirt featuring different cities and their franchise’s most prolific running backs, and these sweet 8-bit NFL helmet logo tees in a variety of teams and colors.

This Columbus, Ohio based clothing brand has done a really great job giving retro graphics a modern feel with these 8-bit designs, and I’ve got a feeling lots of NFL and Nintendo fans are going to want to snag one of these 8 Bit Apparel t-shirts. You can pick up all of the designs you see here and more from the 8 Bit Apparel online store for $27 each. And don’t worry, if you don’t see your favorite team represented in the collection, new designs are being added all the time!

Loyal K.N.G. Winter 2011 T-Shirt Collection

Loyal K.N.G. Winter 2011 T-Shirt Collection - “Hip-Hop Movement” T-Shirt

I don’t know where I’ve been, but evidently last week Loyal K.N.G. released its Winter 2011 T-Shirt Collection. This Texas indie brand always injects a heavy dose of pop culture references in their designs, and they definitely went all out on this collection! From sports, movies and anime to hip-hop, comic books and video games, the Loyal K.N.G. Winter collection has a little bit of everything in it. This is definitely the clothing line for all you pop culture connoisseurs to check out.

Loyal K.N.G. Winter 2011 T-Shirt Collection - “Mojo Power” & “Robomon” T-Shirts

One of my favorite new t-shirts in this release is the “Mojo Power” design. It’s a crazy mash-up of Caesar from the Rise of the Planet of the Apes film, Mojo Jo Jo from The Powerpuff Girls, and the “Power” music video by Kanye West. You really can’t ask for much more pop culture goodness crammed into one t-shirt design than that, can you!?!

Loyal K.N.G. Winter 2011 T-Shirt Collection - “Atamahawk” & “Toon Raider” T-Shirts

For the sports fans there’s the Atlanta Braves inspired “Atamahawk” and the Oakland Raiders themed “Toon Raider” t-shirts. Both designs feature Atama, the Loyal K.N.G. mascot, reinterpreted as a professional sports team’s logo. The Loyal K.N.G. Winter 2011 Collection also includes designs inspired by Doraemon, RoboCop, KRS-One, Sam and Max and so much more! Can you spot all the homages in these tees?

Loyal K.N.G. Winter 2011 T-Shirt Collection - “Atama Chain” & “L.K.N.G. Script” T-Shirts

You can pick up one or the entire collection right now at the Loyal K.N.G. online store. Each t-Shirt retails for $30, or you can pick up some of these designs on crewnecks, which retail for $45.

Johnny Cupcakes NFL Inspired Cupcake & Crossbones T-Shirts

Johnny Cupcakes NFL Inspired T-Shirts - New England Patriots Cupcake & Crossbones T-Shirt

Some of The Blot’s favorite Johnny Cupcakes t-shirts are their pop culture inspired Cupcake and Crossbones designs, where they transform the company’s trademark logo into something just a little different. These NFL inspired designs are a classic example of that! Paying homage to the New England Patriots and the Oakland Raiders, these NFL Cupcake and Crossbones tees feature each team’s colors, incorporate each team’s mascot (a patriot and a pirate), and the cupcakes kind of look like football helmets.

Johnny Cupcakes NFL Inspired T-Shirts - Oakland Raiders Cupcake & Crossbones T-Shirt

My guess is these two teams were chosen because of their proximity to Johnny Cupcakes retail locations (the Raiders used to be based in LA), but I would love to see a Dallas Cowboys inspired design created as well!  What team would you like to see included in this release?

The NFL inspired Johnny Cupcakes t-shirts “Patriot Cupcake and Crossbones” and “Pirate Cupcake and Crossbones” are currently on sale at the Johnny Cupcakes online store for $35.99. The shirts are available in both men’s and women’s styles, sizes S-3XL.
