Coming Soon: The Playboy Designer Art Toy Series presented by Coartism & Blitzway

Yesterday, Coartism announced on their Instagram page an exciting new collaboration between the mysterious company and Blitzway to produce an epic new line of designer art toys based on the iconic Playboy brand by many of the industry’s top artists! In The Blot’s honest opinion, this is exactly the type of forward thinking artist series the designer art toy scene desperately needs. The Playboy Collector’s Edition Art Toys Series features seven Playboy magazine inspired vinyl figures by Eric So, David Flores, Mighty Jaxx, Les Schettkoe, TwelveDot, Sticky Monster Lab and Hands In Factory. While we don’t know too many details yet, it appears that the 7 figures below will all be released sometime in 2015! The Blot can’t wait to find out more...and get my hands on a number of the pieces in this Playboy Artist Series Collection!

Well this is definitely a different look for Princess Toadstool (aka Peach)! The Blot is such a sucker for a good mash-up t-shirt design, and I like how the artist utilized the iconic look of an old school Playboy cover to reimagine the Super Mario Bros. universe in this new t-shirt from Threadless. Giving these Mario Bros. a realistic look within the confines of a magazine cover is a unique take on your usual Nintendo inspired tee (even if it is kinda misogynistic). Most of all, I really like the title of this t-shirt, “Super Playboys”!

MoCCA Exclusive Steampunk Gentlebot, Playbot Bunnies & Cosmic JellyBot Resin Figures by The Jelly Empire

This weekend at the MoCCA Festival in NYC, The Jelly Empire will be debuting three new collections of her popular JellyBot resin figure! First up is the Steampunk Gentlebot, which is limited to just 5 pieces and includes a dapper looking staff. Then there’s the Playbot Bunnies, two blondes and two brunettes, who are ready to get the party started with each including its own tray of drinks.

Last but not least are these sparkly Cosmic JellyBots! These translucent resin figures accidentally swallowed up stars and nebulas on their way to Earth for a really cool effect. Limited to just 10 pieces, these glittery JellyBot tints look fantastic! All three JellyBot series will be available for purchase from The Jelly Empire booth #C24 this weekend at the MoCCA Festival April 5-6th from 11-6pm EDT at the 69th Regiment Armoury 68 Lexington Avenue (25th Street) New York. Any remaining pieces will be uploaded onto The Jelly Empire online store next week.

LTD Tee - Mandy T-Shirt & Art Print by Dean Yeagle

LTD Tee has released its newest box set, and it’s “Mandy” by world famous Playboy Magazine illustrator Dean Yeagle! Dean’s character Mandy is quite the looker, isn’t she? Besides Playboy and LTD Tee, Yeagle has worked with notable companies such as Walt Disney Productions, Warner Bros., MGM and Jim Henson Associates in the past. Another sweet toy coming out this October from Kidrobot is eBoy’s Hugh Hefner Peecol. While I don’t really care for Kidrobot’s line of Peecol figures, how can I pass up on a Hugh Hefner designer vinyl toy!?! Even Aly loves Playboy’s main man, so much so that she never misses an episode of E!’s The Girls Next Door.


The Hugh Hefner Peecol leaves the mansion on October 9th pimped out in his requisite red robe, ascot and bunny emblazoned sailor hat on the prowl for his next mate. This figure is sick, and might just force The Blot to purchase his very first Peecol figure. The Playboy Hef Peecol retails for $9.95 and includes an eBoy designed poster.
