Mayans M.C. Television Poster Artist Series

The Blot is beyond excited for the series premiere of Kurt Sutter’s new FX television series, Mayans M.C.! A sequel to Sutter’s now iconic Sons of Anarchy, Mayans M.C. is set in a post-Jax Teller world and focuses on Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo), who is fresh out of prison and a prospect in the Mayans M.C. charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now, EZ must carve out his new identity in a town where he was once the golden boy with the American Dream in his grasp.

To promote this exciting new FX show, Mayans M.C. has released a series fantastic television teaser posters by some amazingly talented artists. The Mayans M.C. Television Poster Artist Series includes officially licensed teaser posters by Mister Cartoon, David Flores, Oscar Magallanes, George Yepes and more!

Mayans M.C. Season 1 will include 10 episodes, which is set to premiere on the FX Network today, Tuesday, September 4th, at 10pm.

Peanuts Attitude Print Series by David Flores x Dark Hall Mansion

The Blot was blown away when I learned my friends at Dark Hall Mansion were teaming up with acclaimed artist David Flores on a new series of officially licensed Peanuts giclee fine art prints!!! I’m a huge fan of Flores’ signature stain glass art style, and it’s so cool to see it applied to Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang. The series has been entitled “Peanuts Attitude” and features prints of Charlie Brown, Joe Cool, Snoopy on a doghouse, and Charlie Brown and Linus reflecting on life's moments and challenges.

All four Peanuts Attitude prints by David Flores will be released individually in Standard and Variant Editions as 18”x24” prints, or as sets of four 9”x12” prints in the same Standard and Variant Editions. Each individual Standard Edition 18”x24” giclee print is limited to 125 pieces and will retail for $55, while each individual Variant Edition 18”x24” giclee print is limited to 75 pieces and will retail for $65. The Standard and Variant Edition 9”x12” sets are limited to 100 pieces each and will retail for $75. All of these killer Peanuts prints by David Flores will go on sale at 12:30pm PST tomorrow, Thursday, December 14th, at the Dark Hall Mansion online store.

SDCC 15 Exclusive Kiss My Ass Vinyl Figure by David Flores

David Flores’ Deaths Head Mickey is back with an all new designer art toy debuting exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2015! The “Kiss My Ass” vinyl figure is Flores’ Deaths Head Mickey bending over and stands 9” tall – but would stand well over 18” tall if he was standing up straight. It’s freaking huge! Cast is black soft Japanese vinyl and featuring some articulation in the ears and feet, the San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Exclusive Kiss My Ass vinyl figure is a collaboration between David Flores, HellFire Canyon Club and BlackBook Toy.

Coming Soon: The Playboy Designer Art Toy Series presented by Coartism & Blitzway

Yesterday, Coartism announced on their Instagram page an exciting new collaboration between the mysterious company and Blitzway to produce an epic new line of designer art toys based on the iconic Playboy brand by many of the industry’s top artists! In The Blot’s honest opinion, this is exactly the type of forward thinking artist series the designer art toy scene desperately needs. The Playboy Collector’s Edition Art Toys Series features seven Playboy magazine inspired vinyl figures by Eric So, David Flores, Mighty Jaxx, Les Schettkoe, TwelveDot, Sticky Monster Lab and Hands In Factory. While we don’t know too many details yet, it appears that the 7 figures below will all be released sometime in 2015! The Blot can’t wait to find out more...and get my hands on a number of the pieces in this Playboy Artist Series Collection!

DCon 12 Exclusive White Deathhead Vinyl Figure by David Flores

Fans worldwide have been going crazy for David Flores’ Deathhead vinyl figure. This 10” figure, which pays homage to Disney’s iconic Mickey Mouse, is not only massive but beautiful as well. And this Designer Con 2012 Exclusive White Deathhead is all kinds of perfect! Usually with “white” colorways you lose the ability to really see all the details in a figure’s sculpt, but this is definitely not the case with Flores’ White Deathhead! Its light gray outlining and crisp lines makes David’s stained glass style stand out even!

Deathhead Mickey by David Flores

Collectors around the world have been going crazy for David Flores’ newest vinyl figure, the Deathhead! All of its limited releases to date have sold out instantly and people keep clamoring for more. Thankfully, the Deathhead is finally getting a wide release featuring its OG Mickey Mouse inspired colorway.

While I’m usually a diehard fan of anything David Flores does (The Blot’s a sucker for his stained glass art style), I was never a huge fan of his Deathhead design. David already did an amazing Mickey Mouse figure a few years ago and this just felt like a rehash. But then I saw picks of the 3D version of Flores’ Deathhead Mickey and was won over instantly. I think I needed to see it in this OG colorway to get the full impact of the figure. And at 10” tall the figure looks to be pretty massive!

Produced by BIC Plastics, Deathhead Mickey by David Flores retails for $90 each and should be available at designer art toy stores everywhere very soon.

Gods of Geometry x David Flores Oil Mickey Clothing Line

Currently on display at The RONIN.GALLERY in LA in an exhibit of all new canvases, installs and sculptures by artists David Flores and Bryant Koger. While most of us won’t be able to see the Flores/Koger show in person (it will be on display throughout the month of August), fans everywhere can now wear DF’s newest painting, Oil Mickey, on a t-shirt, sweatshirt or tank top. It’s a pretty slick clothing line, don’t you think?


Teaming with Gods of Geometry, David Flores’ Oil Mickey clothing line originally debuted at his RONIN.GALLERY show, but is now available for ordering online. LTD Tee - Jean-Michel Basquiat T-Shirt & Art Print by David Flores

Now this is the LTD Tee box set The Blot’s been waiting for, the Jean-Michel Basquiat t-shirt & art print set by David Flores! The Blot’s a huge fan of Flores and his unique stain glass inspired art style, and this t-shirt by LTD Tee looks pretty killer!


If you’re not familiar with Basquiat, he was a New York graffiti writer and Neo-Expressionist Painter who sparked a cultural change in the ‘80s. Basquiat was linked to many other famous individuals, including dating Madonna in 1982 and collaborating with Andy Warhol from 1984-85. Sadly, in 1988 Jean-Michel Basquiat died of a heroin overdose at the young age of 27, but thankfully his art lives on. Combining Basquiat and Flores is a match made in art heaven!

Super Mario Bros. Screen Print “1UP” by David Flores

Is it me or does everything look just a little better after David Flores applies his stained glass style to it? Flores takes everyone’s favorite Italian plumber and turns him blue in “1UP,’ DF’s newest screen print. “1UP” features a blue Mario flying through the air with angel wings, and I’ve gotta say, the Nintendo icon looks killer flying against an all black background.


The Super Mario Bros. screen print “1UP” is available now through SomethingIll.com and retails for $50 each. This three color screen print measures 16”x20” and has an edition size of 50.

Blue Apple Screen Print by David Flores

David Flores has adapted his stunning portrait of John Lennon into a killer looking screen print entitled “Blue Apple.” Incorporating the logo of The Beatles’ record label, Apple Records, into the print was an interesting take, especially when you consider the placement of Lennon’s profile, but I think it turned out great.

David Flores Collective Clothing Line - New Star Wars T-Shirts

David Flores is about to launch a brand new line of clothing, and he’s christened it the David Flores Collective. The Blot is pretty excited about Flores’ latest endeavor, especially since his first release will be a series of Star Wars t-shirts featuring R2-D2, Boba Fett and Tusken Raider.


This is really all The Blot knows about the David Flores Collective and its Star Wars themed clothing, but how cool does Flores’ R2-D2 look? I’m pretty excited for this new brand of clothing, and can’t wait to see what other t-shirt designs Flores has been working on.

TwoBit by David Flores Sneak Peek

The Blot has been anxiously awaiting a photo of David Flores previously announced but unseen until now new vinyl figure TwoBit (produced by BIC Plastics). Thankfully, the wait is now over since Mr. Flores was gracious enough to post a little teaser image of his latest creation on his blog this past weekend.


The Blot’s not sure if this is technically a pink or purple colorway of TwoBit, but if I know David Flores this will probably not be the only colorway produced. No word has been released yet as to the height, price or run size of the figure, but as soon as BIC Plastics releases more information I’ll be sure to post an update.

Art Asylum Boston Presents "Art Strikes Back"

As you all know, The Blot is a huge Star Wars fan, so I really wish I could make it to Art Asylum Boston for its upcoming Star Wars themed art show entitled Inspirations From Above: "Art Strikes Back." "Art Strikes Back" is an extraordinary collection of art featuring the works of over 30 artists from around the world showcasing their talents and inspirations based on and around the Star Wars Universe.


Paying homage to Star Wars and the influence it has had over our culture and society in the last three decades, some of today's top artists have been brought together under one roof to bring you "Art Strikes Back." While the show will be taking place in Boston, Art Asylum Boston will have an interactive gallery set up on the gallery’s website for those of us unable to attend in person, so we may view this amazing art show and purchase available works.


Art Asylum Boston will be hosting an opening reception for “Art Strikes Back” on Friday, November 6th at 7:00 - 9:00pm, and the exhibition will run through December 6th. There will also be a limited edition silk screened sticker (designed by David Friedman of http://www.ironicsans.com/) available for attendees at opening night. These stickers will be extremely limited with an edition size of only 100, and each silk screened sticker will be individually numbered.

BIC Buddy Mini Vinyl Figure Artist Series 1

The Blot has been waiting for the official release of BIC Plastic’s BIC Buddy mini vinyl figure Artist Series 1 ever since the 3 inch toy line first debuted at San Diego Comic Con 2009 back in July, and it sounds like they should finally be hitting store shelves sometime soon! I love my Jesse Hernandez SDCC 2009 exclusive yellow BIC Buddy, and I’ve been wanting to add Hernandez’ black BIC Buddy to my collection ever since. Designed by Marka27, the new BIC Buddy platform is fantastic.


While this 3” platform is the same height as Kidrobot’s Dunny, it has a bulkier body and head giving artists more surface area to play with. Plus, certain BIC Buddys come with killer accessories like wings and capes! The BIC Buddy platform is definitely the first mini figure artist series I’ve been excited for in a really long time.

Bruce Lee Blue Screen Print by David Flores

David Flores’ latest screen print “Bruce” has The Blot all kinds of excited. I saw a teaser of this very cool print back in July on the Something.Ill blog, and I’ve been itching to get my hands on one every since. How cool would this print look next to the blue version of Flores’ Heidi Klum Print?


Entitled “Bruce” after its subject Bruce Lee, this 6 color screen print measures 18” x 24”, has a limited edition run size of 55 prints and comes signed and numbered by the artist. Bruce retails for $55 and can be purchased directly from David Flores at his online store here. A word to the wise, if you’re thinking about snagging one of these blue Bruce Lee prints act fast, because only 13 prints remain.

David Flores x Disney x Kidrobot Thumper Vinyl Figure Photos

The Blot really loves this new Thumper vinyl figure from David Flores, Disney, and Kidrobot, and I thought you might too once you got a look at the final product. Flores posted this photo below of the black/grey Thumper colorway on his blog last week. I have to say, I never expected to see a Bambi themed vinyl figure released by Kidrobot. While I love the figure, I question giving Thumper a gold grill. I wonder what color Thumper’s teeth will be in the figure’s other two colorways.


The David Flores x Disney x Kidrobot Thumper vinyl figure will be released like most of Flores’ figures in three colorways: black/grey, blue and pink. Thumper, which stands 8 inches tall, will be released sometime in October and retail for around $50.
