“The Record Store” The Beatles Screen Print by Dave Perillo

Tomorrow Dark Hall Mansion continues its acclaimed officially licensed The Beatles Print Series with “The Record Store” by artist Dave Perillo! This image features a very special moment at everyone’s “neighborhood” record store. It is a quietly meditative piece that catches the Beatles pausing before a record store window, a reflection on all they have accomplished and all that's yet to come. As Dark Hall Mansion explains, “it's as much a meditation on artistry and artistic achievement as it is on fame and identity.” The print is a special one, as it required a number of additional approvals just so Dave could include actual Beatles record covers, tour posters, and television performance imagery.

“Yellow Submarine” The Beatles Print by Alex Ross

The Blot loves pretty much anything Alex Ross paints, and that includes this beautiful Yellow Submarine image commissioned by Dark Hall Mansion! For DHM’s newest officially licensed The Beatles limited edition print, they’ve turned to the iconic comic book artist to reinterpret The Beatles 1968 animated film in Ross’ signature realistic style. Alex has often been referred to as “the Norman Rockwell of comics,” yet his Yellow Submarine piece reveals the similarly powerful influence of master surrealist Salvador Dali, whom Alex has recognized as a guiding influence on his style.

“Yellow Submarine” by Alex Ross will be printed in exact scale to his original painting via limited edition canvas and paper editions and measures a whopping 72” long. The Paper Edition “Yellow Submarine” is limited to 295 pieces and will retail for $375, while the Canvas Edition is limited to just 125 pieces and will retail for $550. Dark Hall Mansion, working with Apple Corps Ltd, is teaming up with the amazingly talented Shag to release an all new The Beatles screen print entitled “May I Introduce To You”! Shag has captured The Beatles in his unique and distinctively singular style, bringing to life no less than the legendary moment when Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band explodes across 1968's kaleidoscopic masterpiece “Yellow Submarine”. Shag’s striking rendering of The Beatles as they remove their ever so subtle disguises while the bandstand rises is a landmark moment in Beatles history capturing not only the freewheeling creativity of “Yellow Submarine” but the irrepressible spirit of The Beatles themselves.

The Beatles.com Exclusive Orange Variant is limited to just 50 pieces and will retail for $500, while the Beatles.com Exclusive Blue Variant is limited to just 25 pieces will retail for $750. Both variants come signed and numbered by Shag.

The Beatles Yellow Submarine Pop! Rocks Series 2 by Funko

The Blot loves it when secondary characters get a little shine by being produced as action figures, statues, plush dolls, etc. So when Funko announced a second wave of The Beatles Yellow Submarine Pop! Rocks vinyl figures I was pretty shocked. Funko is revisiting The Beatles' hit 1968 animated film Yellow Submarine with two new Pop! figures of Captain Fred and the Yellow Submarine. Is this the first vehicle to be given the Pop! treatment!?! 

Funko’s most psychedelic series returns this summer with The Beatles Yellow Submarine Pop! Rocks Wave 2. Each figure stands 3.75", features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. While these toys are not expected to hit store shelves until June 2013, you can pre-order both figures from Entertainment Earth for $9.99 here.

B&W The Beatles Pop! Rocks “Color Reject” Set by Funko

Any time I’m in the market for the rarest of the rare Funko releases, my first stop is always Gemini Collectibles. Sometimes I don’t even know what I’m looking for. The perfect example of that is this Black and White “Color Reject” Set of Funko’s The Beatles Pop! Rocks Yellow Submarine figures. I didn’t even know these existed!

According to Gemini Collectibles, these black and white figures were supposed to be a Gemini store exclusive. Originally, Funko was given the green light to produce these figures by the licenser and 10 sample sets were created. But before they were submitted to the licenser for approval, the licenser changed their mind and the project was scratched. 9 of these 10 sets are now available for purchase. Each box comes hand signed and numbered by Funko's Brian Mariotti on its bottom with the words "color reject" (which had to be written on the box).

This extremely rare Black and White “Color Reject” Beatles Pop! Rocks Yellow Submarine Set includes five figures: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and the Blue Meanie and can be purchased exclusively at the Gemini Collectibles online store for $1,375 (per set).

The Beatles Yellow Submarine Elite '68 Folio Screen Print Set by Tom Whalen

In honor of Dark Hall Mansion’s highly anticipated The Beatles Yellow Submarine print set by Tom Whalen dropping later today, DHM has unveiled the third colorway of this beautiful five screen print set. The ultra rare “Elite ‘68” Folio features metallic inks and comes signed and numbered by Whalen (the only version to come signed). Limited to just 68 sets, this is by far the rarest of the three colorways and also its most expensive. The Elite Folio set will retail for a whopping $625! This version is definitely for all of the diehard Beatles collectors out there.

Based on Yellow Submarine, the 1968 animated Beatles film, this officially licensed limited edition print Folio includes five 18”x24” Tom Whalen screen prints. Each print comes individually numbered, with the set housed within its own Folio protective case, also designed by Whalen, which bears the film’s classic Yellow Submarine and original 1968 film release date on its cover. This is the first time The Beatles have formally allowed a contemporary artist to reinterpret their classic film’s imagery within an art print format.

Based on their looks in the hit 1968 animated film Yellow Submarine comes The Beatles Yellow Submarine Pop! Rocks vinyl figures by Funko! Along with cute, chunky versions of The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr), this series of figures also includes the music hating creatures the Blue Meanies. The Blot’s always loved the psychedelic look of this animated film, and these Beatles Pop! figures do a great job of incorporating that look and feel without going overboard.

Each The Beatles Yellow Submarine Pop! Rocks vinyl figure stands 3.75", features one point of articulation and comes packaged in a full color displayable window box. “We'd like to take you home with us...” Screen Print by Jermaine Rogers

Check out this killer new Beatles inspired art print by Jermaine Rogers! “We’d like to take you home with us…” is a 20″x30″ ten color screenprint, has an edition of 150, and will retail for $60. There will also be three variants available: a Gold Matte Foil variant (edition of 30, $125), a Diamond Dust on paper variant (edition of 20, $300), and a Diamond Dust on canvas variant (edition of 10, $700).

The “We'd like to take you home with us...” screen print by Jermaine Rogers will go on sale this Friday, November 19th, at 1pm EST at NOWhereLimited.com.

For those of you interested in the history of this image: The raw imagery displayed here first appeared over a decade ago on the now classic print that Jermaine Rogers created for a 1999 Austin, Texas appearance by the UK band The Chemical Brothers. Years later, the poster was featured prominently in The Art Of Modern Rock, often referred to as “the Bible” of the modern rock poster art movement. This Friday, "We'd like to take you home with us..." becomes available for the first time as an art print. This piece is being printed in New York City on one of the last operational presses previously owned by Andy Warhol.

Obey Giant John & Yoko Canvas Screen Print by Shepard Fairey

While The Blot has enjoyed Shepard Fairey’s series of canvas screenprints, I haven’t been in love with a lot of them. Thankfully his latest print, “John & Yoko,” has lived up to the hype. “John & Yoko,” based on the phototgraph by Ian Macmillan, has definitely been the most hotly anticipated of all of the Obey Giant canvas prints, and I’ve got a feeling this one is going to be selling out extremely quickly.


The Obey Giant “John & Yoko” Canvas Screen Print by Shepard Fairey measures 18”x24”, comes signed and numbered by the artist, and has a limited edition run size of 450 pieces. Each print will retail for $70, with a portion of all proceeds going to the Spirit Foundations, Inc. Blue Apple Screen Print by David Flores

David Flores has adapted his stunning portrait of John Lennon into a killer looking screen print entitled “Blue Apple.” Incorporating the logo of The Beatles’ record label, Apple Records, into the print was an interesting take, especially when you consider the placement of Lennon’s profile, but I think it turned out great.

PNE - "I'd Love To Turn You On" Beatles Print by Justin Hampton, Emek & Jermaine Rogers

This Friday, October 23rd, sees the release of Post Neo Explosionism’s second collaborative art print, “I'd Love To Turn You On...” featuring The Beatles. As you may remember, PNE is a collaborative effort founded by three of the big names of the rock and roll poster art scene: Justin Hampton, Emek and Jermaine Rogers.
