MondoCon 2019 Exclusive The Big Lebowski “Good Night Sweet Prince” Screen Print by Todd Slater

Along with a signing by Stout on Friday, March 15th, from 3:30-7pm, they’ll also be releasing this killer The Big Lebowski art print. The Blot assumes this will be a screen printed handbill, but we really won’t know until Friday.

This weekend, Zavvi will celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Big Lebowski by releasing this fantastic “The Dude Abides” screen print by artist Doaly! It’s hard for The Blot to believe that one of my all-time favorite films is actually 20 years old. I can still remember seeing this iconic cult classic in the theater.

Coming Soon: “Vinyl Idolz” Pop Culture Figures by Vinyl Sugar (Funko x A Large Evil Corporation)

The Blot can’t even put into words how excited I got when news broke that Funko would be teaming with A Large Evil Corporation to produce a new line of vinyl figures based on Evil’s amazing movie, television and pop culture designs (originally seen here)! Now comes word that the two companies have formed Vinyl Sugar, which is being described as “the illegitimate love child between Funko and some of the best free-wheeling designers from the back streets of London, the boutiques of Harajuku, and the galleries in NYC.”

Vinyl Sugar will be the company producing Evil’s designs under the new toy line “Vinyl Idolz.” I like to think of this line as taking Funko’s Pop! figures to the next level! From the teaser photo above, I assume it is safe to say Vinyl Idolz will definitely include figures based on the characters of Back to the Future, Ghostbusters and The Big Lebowski. More details to come as we get closer to Vinyl Idolz’ first release!

The Big Lebowski T-Shirt Collection by Threadless

Although The Blot is a huge fan of The Big Lebowski, I was shocked Threadless held a design challenge inspired by the film. It’s not often that a movie released way back in 1998 gets its own challenge on the community driven t-shirt company’s website. Not only that, but Threadless released an entire The Big Lebowski T-Shirt Collection instead of just the challenge’s winning design. This just goes to show you how ingrained The Big Lebowski is to popular culture even today!

Houston's Lebowski Bash - Celebrating 10 Years of the Dude

Speaking of Joel and Ethan Coen, for all the Coen brothers fans out there in the Houston, TX area (and specifically fans of my favorite Coen brothers film, The Big Lebowski) you should check out Houston’s very first Lebowski Bash celebrating the movie's 10th Anniversary. It’s this Saturday, June 21st, at the Caroline Collective and it’s completely free. The event follows in the footsteps of the highly successful Lebowski Fest, which has been held yearly in Louisville, KY and around the country for the past 7 years.
