General Mills Pop! Ad Icons Vinyl Figures: Count Chocula, Franken Berry & Boo Berry

General Mills Pop! Ad Icons Vinyl Figures by Funko - Count Chocula, Franken Berry & Boo Berry

Funko announced its newest line of Pop! vinyl figures last week, Pop! Ad Icons, and its first wave includes three of General Mills’ most iconic characters: Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Boo Berry. If you’re in your 20s and 30s then just the mention of these animated spokesmen should transport you back to a simpler time of Saturday morning cartoons and incredibly sugary cereal! While my mom would never let me eat Count Chocula, Franken Berry or Boo Berry cereal, I loved watching these animated advertisements anytime they came on the screen. I can’t wait to see what other General Mills characters Funko has in the works. Might we see the Trix Rabbit, Yummy Mummy or the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee!?!

Each General Mills Pop! Ad Icons vinyl figure stands 3.75” tall, has a rotating head and comes in a displayable window box. While these 3 figures are not expected to ship until September 2011, you can already pre-order them from Entertainment Earth here for $9.99 each.

Podiagon Resin Figure by Halfbad Toyz

Hand Painted Podiagon Resin Figure by Halfbad Toyz

Halfbad Toyz has released its second FOEZ resin figure, the massive Podiagon! Weighing in at 10.5 ounces of resin, Podiagon stands 5.5” high, has 4 points of articulation, and includes a removable Sludge Gun accessory. To put into prospective just how large Podiagon is he’s actually twice the size of Halfbad Toyz’ last release, Skekiltor. How crazy is that!?!

Inspired by ‘80s action figures, Podiagon comes bagged with a header card featuring art by Steven Patt (who also sculpted this incredible monstrosity). Each Podiagon resin figure is made to order, so please allow up to 21 days for casting and delivery. You can currently pre-order a hand painted Podiagon for $50 or a glow in the dark Podiagon for $35 at the Halfbad Toyz online store. Look for more solid color Podiagons to become available in the coming weeks!

Zombie Dunny by Huck Gee - The Dunny Series 2011 Case Incentive Giveaway

Kidrobot Dunny Series 2011 - Standard Zombie Dunny Colorway by Huck Gee
Standard Zombie Dunny Colorway by Huck Gee
Kidrobot is counting down to the release of Dunny Series 2011 on June 23rd by spotlighting a different design from the series every day on the KRonikle. While we’ve known the artist line-up and which designs would be included in the series for a long time now, it was the announcement of 2 different case incentive Zombine Dunnys by Huck Gee that really got the designer toy community talking. Expect to pay a pretty penny if you want to own all three versions of this lurked-out harbinger of the undead!

Kidrobot Dunny Series 2011 - The Americas Edition Zombie Dunny Colorway by Huck Gee
The Americas Edition Zombie Dunny Colorway by Huck Gee
For the last three Dunny blind box series releases, Kidrobot has given away for free a special colorway of a figure from the series as an incentive for collectors to purchase a case of blind boxes at the series' release party. These rare colorways have been pretty popular, but you know interest will hit an all time high with DS2011’s free figure being designed by Huck Gee.

Fans can’t get enough of Huck’s work, and you know flippers are going to have field day with these case incentives, especially now that we know there will be an Americas Edition Zombie Dunny colorway AND an International Edition Zombie Dunny colorway. At least the standard post-apocalyptic 3” Zombie Dunny by Huck Gee has a ratio of 2/20! As you can imagine, the Americas Edition Zombie Dunny will be available in North, Central & South America, while the International Edition Zombie Dunny will be available everywhere else but the Americas.

Championship Edition Fur Face Diggler Dallas Mavericks T-Shirt by Fur Face Boy

Championship Edition Fur Face Diggler Dallas Mavericks T-Shirt by Fur Face Boy

The Dallas Mavericks have done the unthinkable, they knocked off the evil empire of Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat! If The Blot’s LA Lakers weren’t going to win the NBA title this year, then I’m glad the Heat didn’t win one either! To be honest, I became somewhat of a Mavs fan while living in Dallas five years ago, so I’m also happy to see Dirk Nowitzki and Mark Cuban finally win a ring after their collapse against the Heat in 2006. In honor of the Mavericks’ huge victory last night, Dallas’ own Fur Face Boy will be producing this Championship Edition Fur Face Diggler t-shirt as an unexpected sequel of sorts to the standard Fur Face Diggler tee he produced a few weeks ago.

The Fur Face Diggler (Championship Edition) t-shirt will be available through pre-order only at the Fur Face Boy online store from now until Wednesday, June 15st, at 11:59pm CST. The shirt retails for $29.99 and is scheduled to ship on Saturday, June 18th.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Batman: Arkham City Harley Quinn Mimobot

DC Comics x Mimoco San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Batman: Arkham City Harley Quinn Mimobot

Last week at E3, Mimoco unveiled a sneak peek at their new Batman: Arkham City San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Harley Quinn Mimobot! Only available for purchase at Mimoco's 2011 Comic-Con booth, the Harley Quinn Mimobot is in anticipation of the October 18th release of Batman: Arkham City in North America, the sequel to the previous smash-hit action-adventure video game, Batman: Arkham Asylum. Harley Quinn encompasses the fan-favorite Batman character as re-imagined in Arkham City styling with red and black leather bustier, rainbow-highlighted pigtails, shock of blonde hair and the menacing white face of a sociopath worthy of The Joker's love.

DC Comics - Suicide Squad #1 Cover Artwork by Marco Rudy

Mimoco teaming up with what will sure to be one of the top games of 2011 is a brilliant idea, and while the 1st video game got rave reviews The Blot’s not a huge fan of super hero toys based on their video game and/or movie looks. Especially when I’ve never played the video game! I’m more of a traditionalist in that sense. However, if you check out the cover artwork of Suicide Squad #1 (due out September 2011), this SDCC 2011 Exclusive Mimobot may match Harley Quinn’s look (except the hair) in the newly rebooted DC Universe.

Each Mimobot designer USB flash drive comes in a range of 2GB to 16GB memory capacities and is preloaded with MimoDesk character-specific content including wallpapers, avatars, screensavers, and other digital extras. The San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Batman: Arkham City Harley Quinn Mimobot has a limited edition run size of 800 pieces, and will be available for purchase at Mimoco's SDCC booth #4938.

SDCC 2011 Exclusive Green Lantern Movie Light-Up Lantern 100% Be@rbrick

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Green Lantern Movie Light-Up Lantern 100% Be@rbrick in Packaging by Medicom & Diamond Comics

Every year there is that one San Diego Comic-Con exclusive that the minute I see it The Blot knows I have to have it. This year, that exclusive is the Diamond Comics x Medicom Green Lantern Movie 100% Light-Up Lantern Be@rbrick. While the idea of a Green Lantern “Lantern” Be@rbick that actually lights up is cool, what makes this a must buy for The Blot is its packaging! If you don’t recognize this 100% Be@rbrick’s blister card packaging, it is modeled after Kenner’s 1980s Super Powers Collection toy line.

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Green Lantern Movie Light-Up Lantern 100% Be@rbrick by Medicom & Diamond Comics

The Super Powers Collection was one of my favorite toy lines as a little kid, but sadly it only lasted three waves (34 figures in all). While DC Comics’ Super Powers action figures don’t hold up well compared to toys of today, nothing beats its iconic packaging. Something about those colors and stars just screams DC Comics to me.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2011 Exclusive Green Lantern Light-Up Lantern 100% Be@rbrick has a limited edition run size of 1,500 figures and will retail for $16.99. Drop by PREVIEWS/Diamond’s SDCC booth #2401 to receive a listing of Diamond retailers that will be selling this awesome figure at Comic-Con.

Leecifer's "Contemporary Conflagrations" Custom Toy Show at Dragatomi

Leecifer's “Contemporary Conflagrations” Custom Toy Show at Dragatomi Flyer

This Saturday night, Lee “Leecifer” Gajda, one of the original “Toy Scene” customizers, will be debuting a slew of new custom figures at his solo art show “Contemporary Conflagrations” at Dragatomi in Sacramento. Leecifer’s vibrant color applications and universally recognizable signature style can be seen on literally hundreds and hundreds of pieces worldwide, and from what I’ve heard Lee’s been working on a number of different vinyl platforms for his upcoming show.

Leecifer's “Contemporary Conflagrations” Custom Toy Show at Dragatomi

The Blot is constantly amazed at Leecifer’s work, and his ability to make any figure his own. I can’t wait to see what Lee’s been cooking up for this solo show, because you know it’s going to be crazy good! “Contemporary Conflagrations” opens on Saturday, June 11th, at 7pm and will run until July 19th (The Blot’s birthday!). If you’re in the northern Californai area, be sure you stop by Dragatomi Saturday night as Leecifer will be in attendance (there will also be a limited release of the "Propane" Honoo vinyl figure in Dragatomi Blue).

Obey Giant x Mondo “They Live” Screen Print by Shepard Fairey

Obey Giant x Mondo “They Live” Screen Print by Shepard Fairey
Click on the photo above for a more detailed look
Last night there was an incredible event at Alamo Drafthouse, a screening of the classic John Carpenter movie They Live hosted by Shepard Fairey! By now everyone knows of my love of They Live and Obey Giant, so you can just imagine how desperately I wanted to be at the screening. Sadly, sometimes live gets in the way of the fun stuff. Thankfully Fairey also teamed up with Mondo to create a poster to commemorate the special event! Now we can all pretend we were at the event by hanging one of these bad boys on your wall.

"They Live" by Shepard Fairey is an 18″x24″ screen print and has limited edition run size of 500 prints. The print will retail for $50 and go on sale at a random time today, Friday, June 10th, at the Mondo online store. If for some reason you miss out on today’s drop, fear not! Fairey will be releasing an alternate They Live screen print colorway on ObeyGiant.com at a later date.
