Ahwroo Creamy Vinyl Figure by Gary Baseman

The Blot’s favorite melted ice cream cone is back! Gary Baseman’s adorable Creamy returns this Friday in a furry new colorway. The Ahwroo Edition Creamy vinyl figure shows what happens when the sweet and naïve Creamy character (who easily melts for unattainable beauty) transforms into the expressive and vicious toothy creature Ahwroo! Featured in Baseman’s 2012 “Vicious” exhibition in Italy, Ahwroo hungers for love and affection and draws blood if he doesn’t feel he’s getting it.

Produced by 3DRetro, the Ahwroo Creamy vinyl figure is limited to 200 pieces and includes a signed and numbered giclee print. Each figure stands 5” tall and comes packaged in a full color window box designed by Gary Baseman. This awesome new colorway goes on sale at 9am PST this Friday, February 6th, at Baseman’s online store for $75.

“Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard Resin Figure by Mark Bode

Following the successful release of his Da’ Lizard figure last year, Mark Bode is teaming up once again with Michael Waltz to produce this awesome looking “Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard figure!!! The Cheech Wizard has always been my favorite Bode character, and it still kills me that I’ve never gotten my hands on the original Cheech vinyl figure (which also happened to be Kidrobot’s first release). Just like with Da’ Lizard, the Ball Kicking Cheech Wizard will first be released as an unpainted resin prototype by Waltz before being released as a self-funded vinyl figure by Bode.

The “Ball Kicking” Cheech Wizard Resin Figure by Mark Bode is currently available in two unpainted colorways, blank white ($180) and glow in the dark ($210). Lil Smoggy Resin Figure by Motorbot

Motorbot’s new figure for February 2015 is here, and it’s the adorable swamp monster Lil Smoggy. This deadly cute pint sized smog monster is ready to attack your collection! Lil Smoggy is a solid hand cast resin figure standing just over 4” tall. He’s currently available in two colorways, fully painted and glow in the dark, at the Meathead Toys online store for just $20 each.

Marvel’s Daredevil Netflix Series Teaser Trailer

Yesterday, Netflix released the first full trailer for its upcoming live action series Marvel’s Daredevil. To be honest, The Blot’s never been a very big Daredevil fan but boy does this teaser trailer look awesome! It’s got a very PG-13 feel to it that evokes the iconic ‘80s DD run of Frank Miller and Klaus Janson mixed with the Daredevil: The Man Without Fear mini-series from 1993 by Miller and John Romita, Jr. Everything Marvel produces these days is just perfect, so I have no doubt these Netflix series will be amazing. Maybe they’ll even make me love The Man Without Fear. What do you think of the show’s first teaser trailer!?!

Gladiator Screen Print by Martin Ansin

Believe it or not, this year marks the 15th Anniversary of Ridley Scott’s epic film Gladiator! To commemorate this anniversary Mondo will be releasing their first ever poster for the film by the super talented Martin Ansin. Here’s hoping we see more Gladiator movie posters throughout 2015!

Gladiator by Martin Ansin is a 12”x36” hand numbered screen print. The Standard Edition is limited to 300 pieces and will retail for $45, while the Metallic Variant is limited to 150 pieces and will retail for $65. Both prints go on sale at a random time today, Thursday, February 5th, at the Mondo online store.

Cold-Casted Bronze Drones by DrilOne

Earlier this week DrilOne released these amazing cold-casted Bronze Drones! These epic handmade figures are a mixture of real bronze metal powder and resin. What a killer idea, that turned out great. Because of how complicated these are to make, Dril will be releasing these in batches. The first run of 1.5” Cold-Casted Bronze Drones (which retailed for just $35) are now sold out, but look for the next small batch to drop soon at the DrilOne online store. There is, however, one gigantic 4” Drone still available for $300! This larger sized Drone will be limited to a max of 3 figures.

“Classic Red” Mickiv Vinyl Figure by Arkiv Vilmansa

This Friday, February 6th, Arkiv Vilmansa will be releasing the Mickiv vinyl figure in a striking “Classic Red” colorway! Mickiv is a killer mash-up of Arkiv’s signature character Arkiv Instant and Disney’s iconic mascot Mickey Mouse. After appearing in a number of Arkiv’s paintings, Mickiv can now be yours as a 3D designer vinyl figure. But act fast, as the previous three versions all sold out in an Arkiv Instant.

The “Classic Red” Edition Mickiv stands 8” tall and is limited to just 200 pieces. It goes on sale at 11am EST at the Visual Ark online store for $100.

Arrow First Look: Brandon Routh as The Atom

From the moment it was announced that Brandon Routh was joining the cast of Arrow as Dr. Ray Palmer The Blot’s been anxiously awaiting the debut of Palmer’s alter ego, The Atom! Yesterday, DC Comics announced that day is almost here! On the February 25th episode of Arrow “Nanda Parbat”, Routh’s Palmer will finally suit up and turn into the microscopic hero. I had no idea how The CW was going to pull this off, but man that Atom suit actually looks pretty bad ass! Now if only they can make his shrinking power look realistic on the live action television show.

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Artist Mix Figures Series 1 by Touma & Hot Toys

Hot Toys’ newest toy line is the Artist Mix Collection Series, which will spotlight different artists and designers from various genres to reimagine movie characters in a special art form with unique style. To kick-off the Artist Mix Collection, Hot Toys is collaborating with Japanese toy artist Touma to produce a wave of figures based on what is sure to be the biggest movie of 2015, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron!

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron Artist Mix Figures Series 1 will include Iron Man Mark XLIII, Captain America, Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron Prime, and two versions of Ultron Sentry! Each Artist Mix Figure has a bobble-head and stands approximately 5.5” tall (Hulkbuster stands approximately 8” tall) and perfectly combines the movie characters’ designs with Touma’s distinctive art style!
