Available exclusively at Giant Robot, this 5” Black Buff Monster plush features white embroidered detailing and reads “The Monster Within” on its back.

If you grew up in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s then you definitely watched (and loved) Inspector Gadget. The animated television series focused on the misadventures of the clumsy, robotically enhanced Inspector Gadget, his niece Penny and her dog Brain as they battled the evil forces of Dr. Claw. As with most of my favorite ‘80s properties, the show was ruined forever after the release of a live action film starring Matthew Broderick. Thankfully, we can now all relive the good old days by sporting this awesome new Inspector Gadget themed t-shirt from Threadless.com.
The Inspector Gadget inspired t-shirt “Vitruvianspector” comes printed on a crème t-shirt and is currently available on sale at Threadless.com for just $10 (these shirts normally retail for $18). The shirt comes in both guys and girls styles, sizes S-2XL.
In honor of the Peanuts’ 60th Anniversary, Lacoste will be teaming up with the long running comic strip on a line of limited edition polos. The entire Peanuts gang is getting in on the act as Lacoste reworks its iconic crocodile logo to incorporate Charlie Brown, Snoop, Linus and Woodstock.
When The Blot first heard about this collection I got really excited. I love Charles Schulz’ Peanuts and I’ve got enough Lacoste polos in my closet to form a proper rainbow. But when I saw the actual designs they left me feeling a bit “meh.” I just can’t figure out who these polos were designed for, as the Peanuts x Lacoste logs are a bit too in your face for my taste. While the execution left me feeling a little underwhelmed, I still like the idea behind the collection and hope to see further Peanuts x Lacoste polos in the future.
The Peanuts x Lacoste Polo Collection will go on sale October 2010 exclusively at Dover Street Market.
Last weekend MAD released a previously unannounced set of custom doodled Glow in the Dark Green 10” Mad’ls entitled Toxic Billy. For this set of five custom figures, MAD took his Billymon design from Mad’l Phase 1 and re-imagined the character as if he had been dipped in some toxic slime Incredible Hulk style. What we got was a 10” behemoth that now glows toxic green! What a great idea and even better execution!
Each hand painted custom Toxic Billy 10” GID Green Mad’l comes signed and numbered by MAD and packaged in the standard 10” DIY box. These retailed for $80 each in the MAD Toy Store, but sold out within an hour.

This past weekend Star Wars Celebration V took place in Orlando, Florida. On Saturday, there was a huge Hasbro panel where all things Star Wars toys were discussed, including its new line of Star Wars Mini Mighty Muggs! They only discussed these pintsized Mighty Muggs for a few seconds, but we now know all we need to about their upcoming release.
According to the Hasbro panel, their new Star Wars Mini Mighty Muggs designer toy line will be sold exclusively at Target in 3-packs. We also learned the official line-up of each of the three 3-packs: The Empire Strikes Back 3-Pack featuring Yoda, Darth Vader & Stormtrooper; The Bounty Hunters 3-Pack features Bossk, Boba Fett & IG-88; and The Clone Wars 3-Pack, which includes Cad Bane, General Grievous & Captain Rex.
The Target Exclusive Star Wars Mini Mighty Muggs 3-packs will retail for $12.99 per set and are due in stores sometime in late October 2010 (pretty soon!).

Here’s your first look at The Destroyer, an all new vinyl figure created by Buff Monster and produced by and produced by The Loyal Subjects. Standing an impressive 14 inches tall, the Destroyer features a drippy textured body, a little guy oozing out of his side and four points of articulation. The Blot really loves this figure because of the way Buff was able to incorporate so many of his signature elements into the grey and pink The Embrace the Darkness colorway, including the pentagram eyes, kanji characters, and the title message scrawled across the rear of the figure.
The Buff Monster x The Loyal Subjects The Embrace the Darkness Edition The Destroyer will be available for pre-order at the TLS online store starting Today, Monday, August 16th, at noon PDT. The figure will retail for $85 each, and is scheduled to ship sometime during the Fall/Winter of 2010.
If you were worried The Blot Says… had stopped covering Season 6 of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, you can now all relax! After a four week hiatus, the Bourdain posts are back. This week Tony travels to one of the world's most beautiful cities, Rome. The episode is largely inspired by the films of Federico Fellini which painted a very specific picture of Rome in Tony's mind. Tony wanted to show his viewers the vision he has always had of Rome, which means the episode is presented entirely in black and white!
Surprisingly, Tony has never been to Rome! He has been all over the world, even all over Italy, but he has never had the pleasure of stopping by this historic city. What unfolds is a beautiful look at a beautiful city with foods that many people can only dream about. Tony begins with a little masterfully crafted bread, four year old fresh cut cheese, and a perfect prosciutto. Tony has so much great food in this episode he is afraid to show some of his newfound restaurants on television for fear of ruining them with an influx of foreigners.
In places that are frequently visited by outsiders, businesses are not rewarded for serving good food. But if you know where to look it is still possible to find an old school Roman family restaurant. They will undoubtedly be serving the latest seasonal ingredients from the region, because in Rome, seasonal food is not something you promote or talk about, it is something you just do. To find out more about these amazing seasonal foods, check out the video clip above.
Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations airs Monday nights at 10/9c on the Travel Channel.
